Prey Drive

Summary:

An Affini comes to find a sophont, and they run.

Don’t they know running from a dog makes them want to chase more?

Work Text:

The address I’d been provided was situated in the middle of nowhere. Few structures dotted the rolling fields, all pale yellow from the lack of water to hydrate the grasses in years. Terrans had destroyed their own ecosystems long before we were around to intervene.

I padded up the driveway, my paws thumping softly on the dusty ground. Most Affini had taken forms similar to the little darlings we came to rescue, but I’d chosen something closer to one of their own domesticated species. (Their ‘domestication’ of course being far from ours.)

Pointed ears flicked, listening for signs of life among the ramshackle farmhouse. I heard someone inside, the whisper of a curtain flowing closed where they’d fled from their vantage point. Then the slam of a screen door, and the beats of little Terran feet running out the back.

I grinned, thorn-teeth glinting in the sunlight. My tail swayed side to side. My prey chose to run, and they would soon find that I loved to chase.

I tore off after a few seconds, giving them a solid head start as I barreled into dry corn fields. The stalks crinkled under my paws, swished along my leaves, and clung in places like burrs. Even as a rather small Affini, height-wise, my nose was above the top of the yellowed plants. The Terran didn’t have that advantage and yet seemed to be having no trouble moving through the field.

“Come out, little one! I mean you no harm!” I called, howling gleefully. From somewhere, a shaky voice called back, “Then why are you chasin’ me?”

“You’re the one who ran.” I replied, scanning along the dried corn to try and find the source of the question. A shiver, just a few yards away. I bolted forward, maw gaping open to clamp snugly around the terrified prey. They screamed but went completely still once my teeth surrounded them. I’d blunted the ends, they were in no danger, but it must’ve been rather intimidating. I stifled the urge to groan in ecstasy when I tasted the bitter tang of their bladder letting go.

“Come, chew toy. This is only the first of many games we’ll be playing.” I spoke, not needing the physical mouth to emulate sounds. I could feel, along with the fear, the thrill and arousal pulsing through the Terran’s body. Yes, they’d be perfect. My tail wagged happily as I trotted back towards my shuttle, prize dangling limply from my maw. My saliva coated them in phytotoxin, and they were a giggly mess by the time I settled in to return home.

“Good toy,” I rumbled, and set about grooming them as the shuttle lifted off. They writhed and moaned at each pass of my tongue over them, more and more of my essence soaking into their skin. They would be a lovely chew toy for many years to come, I knew.
