Work Text:
Chris was feeling like the luckiest guy alive. For so long he had been alone, yearning after his crush with no hope of having his feelings reciprocated. He chain smoked cigarettes while trying to work up the confidence to approach the object of his affections but he never found the “right time” to make a move.
With pining brown puppy eyes he stole glances from across the room. Leon S. Kennedy? And him? Ending up together? Give me a break…
The young S.T.A.R.S agent knew he didn't stand a chance with someone so gorgeous and accomplished and talented and perfect. And older. What did a ridiculously sexy older man need from someone as young as himself? Leon could have his pick of any refined or experienced gentleman… But for some reason he chose Chris.
Chris felt sort of like the puppy in a cardboard box on the side of the road. Confused when Leon said he was the one he wanted. Who? Me? Looking around like he thought maybe Leon was talking to someone else behind him because WHY would Leon want HIM?
A year later and here they were. Sharing the same bed, waking up tangled in each other's arms. Chris always woke up first, young and alert, ready to rise with the early birds. He used to jump straight out of bed the moment he opened his eyes but these days he was taking it slow. He had a reason to.
Laying with Leon in his arms, Chris could just admire and appreciate him. Even if it was still dark, even if they were in a year going steady now… He was downright obsessed with him. With Leon Kennedy in his arms, it felt like the honeymoon phase would last forever.
Leon. His honeymoon.
“Mmh…” Chris slowly came into consciousness and awareness. The first thing he noticed was how warm he was. Leon. Chris shivered pleasantly when he realized Leon's head was tucked into his shoulder and his arm was draped heavily over his chest. Feels good, Chris snuggled up against him, wriggling in closer. His hand brushed against Leon's warm, firm, muscular back and he leaned his cheek down into his messy, sleep-tousled hair. Smells good.
Chris breathed him in. Kept his eyes shut. The scent of an older man, his long, dirty blonde hair with strands of grey. Mmh… Another tingly shiver ran through Chris's body, a gentle shock of how good it felt to be Leon's.
I wanna be yours. Chris confessed to him far too earnestly. He couldn't handle how much he already was falling in love with Leon and the concept of dating him casually or having meaningless sex just wouldn't work for him. Of course, Leon replied like it was so obvious. Who else would you belong to?
God, Chris shuddered at the blissful memory and wrapped his arms around his older lover tight. Yours, he sighed. I'm yours, all yours, always yours…
And you're mine. He rubbed his thumb against his back, took a deep breath in and leaned into him.
Leon usually got up early too and they'd go for a run together. Just the two of them, jogging side by side, breathing in the same morning air. Chris’s routine was so much better when Leon was a part of it. And you get to help keep me in shape, Leon had smirked at him with a mischievous tip of his lips. He obviously meant that in more than one way. Leon Kennedy, always ready with a quip.
Chris’s favorite part was after the run, walking home hand in hand while passing a large coffee back and forth, their lips taking turns pressing to the lid. Indirect kisses. Leon looked gorgeous with the sunrise on one side of his face, slightly out of breath and a little sweaty. That was Chris's other favorite part. Getting home and taking a shower together.
They both were a little buzzy by that point, worked up from the thrill of a good run and sharing caffeine. It was fun to feel so happy and excited over the mundane things. Exercise, coffee and showering... Nothing was boring if he was doing it with Leon.
He loved pulling Leon out of his clothes like an overexcited puppy, tugging on his shirt and pulling down his shorts. Hey! Leon would laugh and playfully scold him. What's your deal? It's like you actually like looking at my old-man body.
Mmm, Chris leaned into him, savoring the heat of Leon, post run. He didn't give a damn if Leon had lines on his face or greys in his hair. Crazy about you, he'd confess, unable to keep his hands off him.
Chris couldn't get enough of him. Even the way the water ran down his body was captivating. Leon was just perfect. He had the longest, firmest, sexiest legs he had ever seen. His body was incredible- Gorgeous and sculpted like a fine tuned weapon that he wanted to memorize and study. Chris couldn't keep his hands off him and Leon didn't want him to. He touched Leon's flat, fuzzy stomach. He caressed his tight waist and brought him closer to him. Mine... He couldn't believe all of this was really his.
He kissed him and felt his scruff rub up against his own smooth face. Intoxicating. The body of someone twice his age. The sounds of someone twice his age. Chris would have done anything to make Leon say his name.
He wanted to do anything to make him happy. To make him feel good and keep wanting to wake up next to him.
Leon stirred gently against Chris, still asleep, evident by the gentleness and steadiness of his breathing. Chris could feel Leon's breath against his neck. He counted it. Slow... So slow and soft and steady. Just how he wanted it.
He knew Leon would probably be annoyed if he didn't wake him up. Leon hated sleeping in. I told you, you have to help keep me in shape! He meant it seriously, that time.
But Chris wasn't in any hurry these days. He savored the sound of Leon's slow and rhythmic breathing. He melted for the heat of their bodies. He'd beg for the scent of Leon all over him, his blankets, his pillows.
He lived to find dirty blonde grey and silver strands on his uniform in the middle of the work day, a strand on the sleeve of his crew neck sweater, noticing it while running errands and smiling for it or a strand on his own pillow, right where his head belong, next to his. Perfect, Chris breathed, curling up against his perfect lover and squeezing him gently. You're so perfect for me.
Chris placed a gentle kiss into his hair. The strands were messy, the way Chris liked it, loved the way it looked just for him, either from bed head and sleeping in, or from loss of sleep, spending long nights enraptured and getting lost in each other, wrapped up in the sheets. They loved the differences in each other, how excited it made them both, one so much older and the other so much younger.
You don't get to trade me in for a younger model if you get tired or bored of me, Leon had warned him when they started seeing each other seriously. If you want me... Then you're stuck with me.
Chris couldn't have been more happy to hear it. I wanna be, Chris wagged his proverbial tail and rubbed up to his beloved man, wrapping his arms around him with his cheek smearing into his neck. He loved the roughness of it and he nosed into his jaw, his cheek, kissing his ear and humming. You're stuck with me, too.
They were in love and there was nothing anyone else could do about it. Even when it really annoyed Leon to be referred to as Chris's "dad," like he was really that much older than him. Even when it embarrassed Chris to be referred to as Leon's "boy toy," like he was so much younger than him.
What they meant to each other... Nobody else could understand. The way they could talk to and understand each other with just a brush of their hands. I love you, I want to be with you. They way they knew what they meant when their toes knocked into each other under a table. I'm thinking about you and last night... How they just looked at each other. Amour.
They wish they knew how this felt, Chris sighed to himself with Leon asleep against his chest. But they never fucking will. He smiled to himself. Mine. All mine. He closed his eyes and started to drift back off. Leon was so warm. They could afford to sleep in and just stay here for while.
"... mh... Hey..." Leon mumbled faintly. "...What time is it..?"
"Hm..?" Chris had just dozed back off but he was lured back into consciousness by the sound of his sleep lover's deep voice. "Its..." Chris took a guess. The birds were singing louder and there was a peek of sunlight sneaking in through the curtains. "... Morningtime?" That was his best guess without actually opening up his eyes to check the time.
"Pff-" Leon laughed a little in that deep and dreamy, sleepy voice of his. God... Chris got goosebumps. He loved it.
"You're supposed to wake me up, you know," Leon moaned softly as he started to wake up. He sat up and yawned, rubbing his eyes and checking the time. "What gives? You don't usually sleep in."
"Mmh..." Chris rolled over onto his side facing Leon. He grabbed his wrist when Leon tried to get out of bed. "No. Don't go."
"What?" Leon laughed again. "You're the one always so damn chipper and eager to get the day going. Come on, let's get dressed. I have some calls I gotta make later for work- Hey-!"
Chris leaned forward and grabbed Leon around the waist, pulling him back down into bed. He threw his arms around his lover's waist, squeezing him tightly so they were spoons, Chris the big and Leon the little. "Stay." He rubbed his face into the back of Leon's neck and shivered up against him. Leon felt so good it made his toes curl.
"I don't gotta go yet, I'm just saying we should run and get breakfast." Leon's hands found Chris's arms and it made Chris moan softly when Leon's body leaned back into his. They nestled together perfectly.
"Breakfast?" Chris kissed Leon's shoulder and closed his eyes. "Not just coffee?"
"Mmhn," Leon sighed. "I wanna try out that new place, the one Claire was telling me about on the phone the other day... Remember? I told you. Chris, don't tell me you fell back asleep already..."
A comfortable, easy smile played out against Chris's lips. He just loved this. He loved Leon, loved being in their bed, loved hugging him and talking about their day and that Leon was a part of his family. He loved that Leon adored his younger sister as much as he did. "Mmnot," Chris mumbled, rubbing his cheek against the back of his shoulder, so happy he felt like he could start vibrating or purring.
"Well then, c'mon." Leon pulled himself up out of bed and Chris's arms. He opened the curtains and the sunlight flooded in. "Mnn," Chris winced, hiding his face down into the warm spot on Leon's side of the bed.
"What's with you today?" Leon slid into his running clothes with efficiency. He gazed down at Chris curiously as he tugged his shirt over his head and smoothed his fingers back through his messy hair. "You're not getting sick, are you?"
Chris peeked up at the sight of his lover getting ready. The way his hair just fell back out of place just right. The way he glanced down at him a little impatiently but also a little worried. Lovesick, Chris thought in reply. Always lovesick for you. He wanted to kiss that look off Leon's face. Chris got up and walked over to Leon, wrapping his arms around him.
"You're pretty warm..." Leon leaned back a little and pressed his hands to his face. "You feeling good?"
"Mmm..." Chris leaned into the touches. "I feel great." He kissed his man.
"Mhh..." Leon sighed back, giving in, wrapping his arms around Chris's shoulders. Chris slid his hands up under Leon's t shirt. He caressed his skin, pressing into him, tilting his head and kissing him slowly, with a deep, passionate feeling.
"Mmm," Leon moaned, leaning up against Chris. Running could wait. Breakfast could wait. Morningtime could wait. The whole world could wait as Chris kissed the older man he had fallen in love with.
