The cavernous lair of the Gray Dragon was usually a monument to absolute, uninterrupted luxury. Rasheel liked his pillows plush, his gold piled high, and his sleep completely undisturbed. For centuries, that was his entire existence: sleeping, being annoyed by anyone who woke him up, and then going back to sleep.
Then, a certain red-haired human had stumbled into his life, overturned his entire philosophy on effort, and somehow ended up occupying the absolute center of Rasheel’s massive, golden-encrusted bed.
Rasheel sat on the edge of the mattress, his massive shoulders shifting under a robe of finest silk. He looked down at Cale Henituse. The human was curled into a small, pale ball beneath a mountain of heavy fur blankets, looking utterly exhausted. Cale always looked exhausted, a fact that deeply offended Rasheel’s sense of proper slacking. Rasheel slacked because he was powerful and lazy; Cale slacked because he had somehow coughed up blood saving the world multiple times and was now perpetually running on a low battery.
Reaching out a hand, Rasheel gently brushed a stray lock of crimson hair away from Cale’s face. The human didn't even wake, merely letting out a soft, pathetic sigh and leaning into the warmth of the Dragon’s palm.
A surge of possessiveness, heavy and distinctly draconic, swelled in Rasheel’s chest. Humans were so fragile. This one in particular was practically held together by ancient powers, expensive wine, and pure spite. Yet, he was Rasheel's. The entire continent thought Cale Henituse was a god-like mastermind, but right now, he was just a sleepy, fragile creature resting in a Dragon's nest.
"Stupid human," Rasheel muttered, though his voice lacked any real bite. "Always overworking yourself. You're lucky you have me to ensure you actually rest."
Cale stirred at the deep rumble of Rasheel's voice. His long eyelashes fluttered open, revealing drowsy, reddish-brown eyes. He squinted up at the giant of a man sitting beside him, blinking slowly as if trying to process where he was.
"Rasheel..." Cale murmured, his voice rough and laced with sleep. He shifted, trying to pull the blankets higher. "What time is it?"
"It's the time where you stay in bed and don't do anything stupid," Rasheel replied smoothly, leaning down so his face was only inches from Cale's. "The kids are with Eruhaben. Raon is lecturing the little cats about something. You have nowhere to be."
A small, content sigh escaped Cale’s lips. The tension in his shoulders visibly melted away. "Good. Don't let anyone in."
"As if I'd let any of those annoying pests disturb my peace," Rasheel scoffed. He shifted his weight, crawling back onto the bed to loom over the human. The sheer contrast between them was ridiculous. Rasheel was broad-shouldered, muscular, and radiated a heavy, oppressive draconic aura even when relaxed. Cale looked like a delicate glass ornament beneath him.
But Cale wasn't afraid. He looked up at the Mighty Gray Dragon with an expression of sleepy trust that made Rasheel's insides twist in a way that had absolutely nothing to do with laziness.
"You're staring," Cale pointed out, a faint, amused smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
"I'm a Dragon. I look at my treasure whenever I want," Rasheel growled softly. He pinned Cale’s hands above his head with one large hand, not applying enough pressure to hurt, but enough to make it clear that Cale wasn't going anywhere.
Cale’s breath hitched slightly, his eyes darkening as the atmosphere in the room shifted from lazy comfort to something thick, heavy, and intensely charged. "Is that so?"
"Yes," Rasheel murmured, his voice dropping an octave as he leaned down to press his lips against Cale’s jawline, savoring the shudder that ran through the human’s frame.
The heat in the room rapidly escalated, burning away the lingering chill of the stone lair. Rasheel stripped away the bothersome layers of Cale's expensive clothing, exposing the pale, skin beneath. The Scar of Cale's body (the one because of the World tree dagger) was a reminder of a danger passed, a testament to how close this fragile creature had come to breaking. Rasheel hated the scars, but he loved tracing it with his lips, marking over them with his own proprietary bruises and bites.
"Ah... Rasheel," Cale gasped out, his head tossing back into the silk pillows as Rasheel’s mouth moved down his throat, biting firmly at the sensitive junction where his neck met his shoulder.
"You talk too much for someone who's supposed to be resting," Rasheel mumbled against his skin. He parted Cale's legs, settling his heavy weight firmly between them. The heat radiating from Rasheel's draconic body was immense, causing a fine sheen of sweat to break out over Cale's chest.
Cale wrapped his slender legs around Rasheel’s waist, dragging his short nails down the broad expanse of the Dragon's back. "Then make me quiet."
Rasheel chuckled, a low, vibration that Cale felt deep in his bones. "Don't regret it later."
Using a thick, enchanted oil from his hoard, Rasheel began to prepare Cale’s body. He slicked two fingers, pressing them gently against Cale's tight opening. Cale whined, a high, needy sound that immediately made Rasheel’s grip tighten on his hips.
"Relax, Cale. I'm not going to break you," Rasheel coaxed, though his own patience was wearing thin. He added a third finger, stretching the tight heat of the human, watching with dark satisfaction as Cale’s pale skin flushed a vibrant, breathless pink. Cale’s fingers tangled hopelessly in Rasheel’s silver-gray hair, pulling him down for a messy, desperate kiss.
When Rasheel finally substituted his fingers for his own thick, rigid length, Cale choked on a breath, his hips arching off the bed instinctively.
"Wait—Rasheel, hold on—" Cale gasped, his eyes wide and watering from the sudden, overwhelming fullness.
"I've waited long enough," Rasheel growled. He paused for only a fraction of a second to let Cale adjust before he began to push forward, burying himself completely inside the tight, pulsing heat of the human.
"Hngh...!" Cale’s voice cracked, a tight sob escaping his throat as his hands gripped Rasheel’s shoulders for dear life. It felt like being consumed, entirely overwhelmed by the sheer size and power of the Dragon.
Rasheel didn't give him time to overthink. He began to move, pulling back slightly before driving deep inside, hitting Cale’s sweet spot with a brutal, possessive accuracy.
"Ah! Ah, Rasheel—!" Cale cried out, his toes curling into the heavy blankets. The pleasure was sudden and violent, sharp enough to make his vision blur. Every heavy, deliberate thrust from the Dragon sent a jolt of pure electricity straight to Cale's core.
Rasheel watched him with a predatory intensity. He loved this—loved seeing the pristine, unbothered Commander Cale Henituse reduced to a panting, trembling mess under his command. He reached down, grabbing Cale's leaking length and pumping it in sync with his heavy thrusts.
"Look at you," Rasheel whispered hotly into Cale's ear, his breath scorching. "So loud. Where's that arrogant mouth of yours now, human?"
"Shut up... ah! Please, harder—" Cale pleaded, completely unraveled by the friction. He arched his back, practically begging for the friction, his inner walls clamping down tightly around Rasheel's length in a vice-like grip.
That tight squeeze nearly pushed Rasheel over the edge. A low, territorial growl ripped from his throat. He abandoned all pretense of gentleness, pinning Cale’s thighs flush against his ribs and pounding into him with a relentless, punishing rhythm. The bed groaned under the force of the Dragon's movements. Cale could do nothing but ride the waves of intense pleasure, his voice going raw as he moaned out Rasheel's name, completely spent and entirely at the Dragon's mercy.
With a final, deep plunge that hit Cale's deepest point, Cale shuddered violently, his release spurting across his own stomach as his vision went white. Seconds later, Rasheel let out a low groan, filling Cale’s insides with a thick, burning warmth that made the human twitch in a glorious, overstimulated afterglow.
The silence that followed was heavy, filled only with the sound of two ragged breathing patterns slowly synchronizing.
Rasheel collapsed forward, careful not to crush Cale with his full weight, and buried his face in the crook of Cale’s neck. He could feel the rapid, steady thrum of the human’s pulse against his lips. It was a comforting rhythm.
Cale lay completely limp, his eyes half-closed and glazed over with exhaustion. His pale skin was covered in a mix of sweat, expensive oil, and dark red marks left by Rasheel's teeth. He looked thoroughly thoroughly wrecked, yet utterly at peace. One of his trembling hands slowly made its way up to tangle lazily in Rasheel’s gray hair, weakly tugging it.
"You're heavy," Cale whispered, his voice incredibly hoarse.
Rasheel huffed, shifting his weight slightly to the side but keeping his arms wrapped tightly around Cale's waist, anchoring the human against his chest. "Deal with it. You're not going anywhere anyway."
"Wasn't planning on it," Cale muttered, his eyelids drooping. The sheer physical exhaustion from the act, combined with his natural disposition to slack off, was acting like a powerful sedative.
Rasheel snapped his fingers, utilizing a minor spark of dragon magic to clean the sweat and mess from both of their bodies, leaving them clean and warm. He pulled the heavy fur blankets back over them, burying Cale back into the nest of luxury.
As Cale breathed out a soft sigh and drifted off into a deep, dreamless sleep, Rasheel closed his eyes, resting his chin on top of the human’s crimson head. For a Dragon who valued sleep above all else, Rasheel had finally found something he liked just a little bit better.
