Cold Steel Knights

Summary:

This isn’t a chronicle of trophies or a breakdown of statistics. It’s a series of flashes: raw sketches of the men who take to the ice. There are no lead roles or supporting acts here -only the grit, the post-shift exhaustion, and sincere lines dedicated to the players who live for the game. Poetry written from the heart, without scripts or sequences, moving as fast and unpredictably as a puck off a ricochet.

Chapter 1: Quinn Hughes

Notes:

For Quinn Hughes (Defenseman, Minnesota Wild, NHL)

I first discovered Quinn as a hockey player some time ago, but it took a while to truly see him. These lines were written on April 5th, 2026, once a deeper impression of him had finally formed in my mind. It's a reflection of what I saw beneath the surface.

Chapter Text

Quinn Hughes

The ice is cold, the lights are bright and loud,
You carry weight of every single crowd.
But I can see the soul beneath the shield,
The human part that's never been revealed.

I see the world with mango gold and sweet,
The bubbles burst, the silence feels so neat.
While you are tired, walking through the gray,
With heavy thoughts that never go away.

I send you warmth, I send it through the night,
To be your spark, to be your inner light.
I’ll give you warmth, let all the shadows go,
And let the peace of simple moments flow.

You don’t have to lead or always be the best,
Just for a moment, let your spirit rest.
The darkness won’t remain, it has no stay,
You’re just a human, and that is okay.
