Notes:

I only started suits recently so you will have to give me the benefit of the doubt when it comes down to reading this.

Work Text:

No, Mike was not going to do it. He was not. Sure he could, it was right there in front of him and yet he refused to even pick it up. Harvey was not in the office yet, that was no surprise but what was in the office was a card with a note is what through Mike for a loop. He and Harvey had left at the same time so either Harvey had came back to write to do this or he came in the morning and left before Mike got there.

and another thing was he couldn't tell if it was a passive aggressive note but knowing Harvey it probably was one.

The note read along the lines of 'buy yourself some actually suits'. Mike wasn't going to, he had good enough suits that was will over how he would like to spend money and he didn't even need Harvey money to get them…but well his mind actually started to work. He didn't just have to buy suits, he could buy whatever and Harvey wouldn't even look at or ask what he bought.

So, yeah he grabbed the metal card. Mike looked at it with a grin. He was going to have some fun with this. He walked out of the office, he could shop while also doing work. He was good at that. Mike didn't know where to start with everything, but he did it.

Donna had noticed him leaving. "you were in there for a long time, did he give you some work?" she raised a brow. She was Donna, she knew everything in the office. He stopped and lean on her desk.

He hums "Yeah, kind of" he chuckled and continued on his way. Mike did start off with suits, going to Harvey guy which they were more accounted now then they were before. He spent some time with getting what he likes to think 'Harvey approved'.

Mike did sometimes look at his phone, to see if he had gotten a text from the boss man but it had seem like Harvey wasn't to worry why he wasn't in the office. So, he went on with his day. He went to the store to get food, he needed to stop ordering out so much. Mike was sure if he looked at his bank statements he would see that he order more takeout and pizza in one week then he does all year before he was a 'lawyer'.

That plated card was flashed around. It did feel weird not pulling out his own or even cash but Harvey card. It was like sunshine. When he had dropped everything at his apartment before heading back to the office.

Harvey was around this time. Mike though had done no real work since he took the day to shop but he still walked in and placed a folder down on his desk. They both looked at one another. Harvey looked at Mike, he could tell that the suit he wore was still on the cheaper side. There was no words exchanged between them about it.

"You will need that for the case" Mike started to ramble about law, ways to win that was probably better ideas then whatever Harvey had going on in his head.

"Hm" he hummed while grabbing the folder and started to read. Mike had stayed there in front of Harvey a little longer then normal. He turned on his heels and started to walk away. Harvey though snapped his fingers and Mike brain made him halt and turned back around.

He looked at Harvey. "What did you get?" he asked. Mike blinked, he chuckled a little "what you asked me to get" he replied back. Mike wasn't getting nervous that Harvey had looked at his bank statement through the day.

Harvey grinned at him. "Hm, well go on your marry way then" he said looking down at the papers on his desk. Mike nods and left the office. Was he expecting him to show up in a new suit for only half a day? It was the first in awhile that they didn't really have any work to be done.

And, Harvey didn't ask for his card back so he went on his way. Mike went to the sub place that Harvey was a fan of. Yes, he used his card to pay for lunch before pocketing it in his wallet above his own.

When Mike showed back up to the office and place the food down on the desk.

"it's your usually" Mike thinned his lips as he looked at the older man.

Harvey reached to grab the bag that Mike slide over just a bit more so he didn't have to lean forward. He raised his brows as he snatched the bag and opened it. "used my card?" he asked.

Mike shrugs "No"

"Lie"

"I didn't"

"are you sure?"

"Yes"

Harvey chuckled "I could do this all day"

"but you won't" Mike tilts his head with a raised brow

"You used my card, admit it"

"No because I didn't"

Harvey looked at the sub then back at Mike "then give it back to me" he unwrapped the sub. Mike eye did a thing that made the older man tilt his head.

"alright" Mike clicked his tongue and grabbed his wallet and handed it back to Harvey. He took a minute to grab it but he finally did. That was it for the card adventures. He should have admitted to using the card for lunch but he didn't.

Mike sat down in the chair across from Harvey. In these moments they didn't talk about things, just sat and ate. Harvey was the first to start talking about the case which Mike was glad about since he couldn't really deal with the silence.

When the next day rolled around, Harvey wasn't in the office again. Donna had told him before he saw through the glass. He just nodded, he spent most of the night looking over cases.

And again when he walked into the office. There was that plated card. He stared at a little longer before grabbing it and putting it in his pocket.

"So you do want to keep it" Mike jumped when Harvey spoke. He turned on his heels and looked at him.

He shrugged "It's a nice card"

"has more money then you could ever dream of" Harvey chuckled.

Mike narrowed his eyes as he looked at him. Harvey hummed a little as he walked closer. "You can keep it, try not to lose it"

"why are you giving it to me in the first place?" he finally asked.

Harvey shrugs, he didn't really give a real answer to that. "because, I wasn't really using it" He leaned on the desk, his eyes scanning Mike. Mike nods a little as he watched Harvey scan his face.

He notices that every now and then that Harvey would watch him. Mike turned away "what do we got today" he asked. Harvey sighs and pushed off the desk and walked around to his chair.

They ignored it. They ignored the card thing. Well maybe Harvey was but Mike wasn't since the day after he officially got the card he started using his own card less often. He still paid his bills and subscription but everything else he used Harvey card.

Harvey hadn't said anything about it, he just mentioned every now and then about what he spent on it but it was the basic things for a human to need which Harvey would roll his eyes at him.

"what? what did you expect me to buy with using your card?"

Harvey sighs "Anything besides the basic things for a human"

"Like a car? or things I want?" Mike sounded like he was unfamiliar with the term of 'anything you want'

He looked long and hard at him before Mike did the math in his head about it. "oh my god" he was breathless. "You want me to use your card for things I want" Harvey made a face as he nodded.

Mike was a bit a shock "why though?" he asked "unless…" he tilts his head a little as he did more thinking. "You could have ask for a date you know"

"to cliche"

"So you gave me your card?"

Harvey shrugged "I wasn't using that money any time soon"

"ask me on a date" he was a bit demanding

He raised a brow "why? we or i think we..have a mutual understanding of whats going on here and our feelings"

Mike huffed, shaking his head "Ask…or it's not official"

Harvey was no the one shaking his head "idiot, fine" he stood up and looked at the younger one "want to go on a date? brat"

Mike made a face at the nickname but he had a better one "Yeah..I do captain"
