A Month of Orion: Vierapril 2026

Summary:

During April 2026 on Bluesky, I found several community prompt lists for Vierapril and challenged myself to pick a prompt and write a drabble from Orion’s lore every day… but I am terrible at being short. None of these are actually at or under 100 words, and a couple border full-on fic, so let’s just call it a collection of prompt fills. These are all from different parts of Ori’s life as an OC, not as WoL (although the split for him is after his time in the Peaks). This is all to help me get his lore a little more fleshed out and on a page somewhere. Each chapter is presented in no particular chronological order, and each chapter title is the prompt. Please enjoy.

Chapter 1: Sunrise

It was amazingly freeing up there, if a bit dangerous. Like sitting at the edge of the world, surrounded by all the warmest colors, the chill of the early morning still in his bones. Rigging the ladder the day before had been the hardest part, and it was dizzying to hang in space as you climbed, trusting that the crystals above you would just continue to float, just as they had been for years.

Now he had a breathtaking view of most of the floating ruins of Nym, the bulk of the Wanderer's Palace to the further south still mostly in shadow even as the sun began to bathe the world in its bright light. It was worth the early rise, the slippery climb in near darkness. He let his feet dangle over the edge and gazed out over the place he'd fought so hard to reach.

Orion took a deep breath of chilly air and felt truly peaceful for the first time in a very long time.
