TW: drug mention
“AVA! WHERE DID YOU PUT MY PHONE!” I yell down the hall. I was about to go for a walk around my home area. Eventually Ava responds back “ I SAW IT IN THE KITCHEN” Her soft voice chimes through the house.Just a little info for ya. Ava is my best friend that I live with. We both work jobs but she does only fans and me? I work in a shop as a clerk. Anyways you’ll see more of Ava later back to my story
I walked into the kitchen and there it sat… my phone in its lavender case. Just as I reach it it starts to go off. It buzzes violently and I answer it. “Hello Tristan, I need you to come into work now. Coco has gone sick and you're the only employee that i dont I MEAN I DO CARE ABOUT! AHAHAHAH……. You have 10 minutes to get here so hurry up” The phone line goes dead. I sigh and grab my keys. My boss was an asshole. She hates me because I said no to being her partner. I give Ava a quick text to say that I'm leaving for work.
After 9 minutes of driving I pulled into the car park. It was as dead as my grandparents. I head into the building and immediately my boss comes out yelling at me. “ YOUR LATE HURRY UP AND GO SERVE CUSTOMERS YOU WORTHLESS SHIT!” Her spit gets in my face and I wipe it off. My reaction was blank and tired. I want to leave this place but I can't. Sighing and walking away I grab my apron and go to the check out. I tied my apron around my waist as it hugged my curves. I wait….. And wait………….. And wait. Nothing. It was dead quiet. No customers. No music. Just the low hum of the refrigerators and the occasional clatter from the back room. Typical. I grab a spare chair and sit scrolling on my phone, waiting for the silence to end or have someone end my misery
After half an hour the automatic doors slide open. Looking up I see a guy… 6’3, mouse brown hair and grey eyes. Fuck he looked handsome…. Snap out of it Tristain, that's just some random guy you’ve never met. I watch as he disappears into the isles. I sit up straight and act like I'm doing something. The sound of items hitting a metal basket makes me flinch. The gentleman arrives at the till and unloads his basket. “ Hello there sir is this everything for you?” A smile plasters my face as I stare respectfully. He nods and packs his bags after scanning. “ pack of cigarettes” His voice is rough and deep. Omg…. Did I just get semi hard from that? “ In total that's £24.90 please” I don’t look up. He pays and before he leaves he slides over a chocolate bar he’d just brought. “ Enjoy princess” My stomach tightened. Did he just call me princess?! That fucker. Before I could reply he had disappeared.
The rest of the day was quiet. Not many people entered, not many left. I ate the chocolate slowly hoping it would make the time go quicker. Night time crawls in and drains the colour from the shop. Customers enter and exit, faces more blank than paper. None of them had his shape… His brown hair, his grey eyes. God Tristan, stop thinking about a guy you just met. His voice kept replaying in my skull — rough, low, threaded with an unreadable softness. "Princess." It shouldn't have mattered. It did.
It was finally time to close up. I lock up the till and shut off the lights and go to the door. The boss had already left, leaving me to lock up, I pulled out my key and watched the automatic doors shut like a mouth sealing over the world. I go to start walking home and I hear footsteps. Deliberate, measured and loud. I swiftly turned around and there stood a masked man. Eyes stood out like stormy clouds behind the dark black make up. Their chest stood out like soft pillows. They stood close. A smile reached their eyes like they were excited to see me. They had that look people give before they tell you a secret you don't want to hear.“You closed up?” Their voice filled the space between us without trying. It sounded like a voice changer but someone familiar. “Yes,” I said. My voice was more brittle than I intended. “I’m just… finishing.”. What i’m assuming was a he stepped forward. His scent was musky and intoxicating like a drug that wants to drag you in and just fuck you senseless. He grabbed my chin and pulled me closer. “ You look so small” I blush. I wasn't expecting that.“Thanks,” I said, swallowed“Do I… know you?”. “No.” He shook his head slowly, like he was tasting the word for the first time. “Not yet.”
I wait for him to say something. “You know its dangerous out here…. All alone. Don’t worry I can keep you safe.” I wanted to ask him to stay. Both wishes were equally dangerous. He laughed softly, the kind that didn't quite reach his eyes. Something in him suggested he knew how to wait. And wait. And watch. I start to back up scared but kinda turned on, He doesn’t follow me thank god. He just stands and watches.
