The morning dew was still gleaming in the sun's rays and it was a beautiful day. Everything was going good for the newly wedded couple. Kai and Cole’s limbs lie there, entangled in one another on Cole’s bed. Kai eyes slowly open to Cole’s strong arms wrapped around him, trying not to disturb him he slowly maneuvers his way out of Cole’s arms and slips into the bathroom as quietly as possible. He pulls down his boxers just to immediately realize that they were full of blood and desperately needed to be cleaned. He quickly shoved them off of himself and grabbed a new pair of boxers, throwing the old pair away. Kai took himself off of his birth control like a month ago when they got married, Cole knew. He wasn’t expecting it to come back so quickly, he hated it and didn’t have time to mentally prepare himself. He gets in the shower and tries to calm down his panic attack before it gets too bad and he worries Cole.
The bathroom door squealed when pushing it open. We should really get that fixed…As Kai left the bathroom he saw the silhouette that was on the bed to be gone. Kai walked around checking room after room starting to worry. After about a minute of checking he found his husband in the kitchen eating a piece of chocolate cake.
“That’s such a good breakfast” Kai jokes, rolling his eyes, wrapping his arms around Cole’s neck. Kai gets his response as a piece of cake gets flung on his face. Kai sighs into the nook of Cole’s neck.
“Are you okay baby?” Cole asks, pushing Kai a little bit away to look him into the eyes. “You look like you had a rough night”
“I feel fine.”
“Are you lying, you don’t look fine firefly?” That nickname always made Kai want to melt into Cole’s arm, but today wasn’t going anywhere close to as good as it looked.
“No, I’m not” Kai responded with a slight snap in his voice
“Okay, I’ll back of I’m sorry” Cole pushed away and took a step back with a look of defeat
Kai felt like he just punched a puppy, Cole could always have the saddest looks he’d ever seen.
“It started again…I absolutely hate it” Kai sighed, his voice breaking towards the end of the sentence
“What started-I’m so sorry hun…” Cole ran over trapped Kai in a bear hug before he even had a chance to react.
He started playing with the hair on the back of Kai’s necks knowing that normally calms him down. Cole noticed the gloss covering Kai’s eyes and brought over to the couch, and sat down, letting Kai just sit there and cry in his lap.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t expecting it, I forgot.” Kai started sobbing like crazy.
“Shhh baby, I understand it’s okay…hush” Cole kept on reassuring him till he eventually fell asleep in his arms.
Cole picked his husband up, bridal style and brought him back to the bedroom. He grabbed a notepad. Hey fireball, I’m gonna go pick up lunch, I love you :) He left the room and picked up the car keys, then walked out the door. About 10 minutes later Kia woke up to no Cole anywhere around. He sprung up and regretted it immediately, grabbing his stomach. Cramps are the fucking worse he was not excited about this next week coming up. They didn’t have any heating pads or anything. He still got up anyway and looked all over the house for Cole. He was nowhere to be seen, but as soon as he started panicking he laid his eyes on the piece of parchment sitting on their dresser. He just laid back down after that, upset that Cole left.
About an hour later Kai fell back asleep with tears streaming down his face. Give it another 30 minutes and Cole opened the front door with 4 bags in hand and a box. Struggling to get through the door he sets everything down on the floor and puts his keys down. Then starts unpacking the bags, Kai wakes up to all the noise coming from the kitchen. Still dealing with the cramp from earlier he tries his hardest to get up without whincing. He walks over into the kitchen clutching onto his stomach and leans a little bit into the doorframe only enough to poke his head out though, he spots Cole and immediately walks over and hugs him burying himself into Cole’s scent and neck. Cole smiles and drops whatever he had in hand and brings Kai into a hug, then immediately grabs his shoulders and pulls back a little so he can see the brunette’s face.
“How are you feeling firefly?”
“I hate this…I have the worst cramp known to man right now why couldn’t I have just been born a boy, why do you even like me” Kai immediately started crying into Cole’s arms
Cole just brought him into a tighter hug and played with his hair and whispered reassurances into his ear. Kai’s sobbing seemed to stop after about a good ten minutes of just holding onto each like this.
“What did you get for lunch ?” Kai asked eyes still closed just sitting there embracing Cole
“So I got a little more than just lunch..” Cole rubbed the back of his head with one of his hands.
“What all did you get then pebble?” Kai questioned looking down a little bit at his husband
“So I did get lunch from the little ramen shop on the corner you like because I know you like spicy ramen, but then I couldn’t remember whether or not that made your cramps worse so I got you both spicy and regular ramen. And then I went to the store and picked up some of your favorite snacks and sweets along with a heating pad because I know you’ve mentioned your cramps before and how bad they could get when you first got off of your birth control.” Cole closed his eyes and started picking at his nails.
Kai grabbed his hands and looked so excited about Cole remembering and going all of that for him. He pulled him into a kiss, both of them looking like absolute messes.
“Thank you so much pebble, it makes everything a little better knowing I’m with someone who doesn’t care about what I look like and is willing to put up with me.” Kai hugged his neck as best as he could without wanting to cause more pain to himself.
“Why don’t we go lay down, relax, and try to get your mind off of things baby boy?”
“Lead the way handsome”
Cole hooked his arms underneath the small of Kai’s back and the back of his knees and twirled him around, stealing a quick kiss with both of them giggling into it, before heading to their bedroom.
“I love you so much pebble”
“I love you more than you could ever imagine firefly”
