Kaidou and Aren have been friends for a good while now. They had just finished their third year of high school, on summer break before becoming seniors.
Today, the two had met up at Aren's house like usual. Aren knew how controlling Kaidou's mom was, so he would invite him over as much as he possibly could. Which was pretty frequently.
The day started out like normal. Doing summer reading together so Kaidou's mom would allow him to keep going over there, talking about the Jet Black Wings, playing video games, eating out, going to parks to walk around, and finally going back to Aren's house for dinner.
"Man, I'm beat. Today was really fun!" Kaidou stated through a yawn, stretching his arms above his head, showing off a bit of his stomach.
Aren glanced down at the exposed skin before looking at his bedroom clock. "Why don't you call your mom and ask her if you can sleep over? My parents aren't here and even if they were they wouldn't care, they love you." At the suggestion, Kaidou lit up.
This would be one of his first ever sleepovers! His first was with Saiki and Nendou at the beach field trip.
"Um, yeah! If you wouldn't mind, that sounds like a really awesome idea!" Kaidou exclaimed, clearly very excited, though he quickly realized what he was doing and coughed before looking away.
"I'll - I'll call my mom and ask her if she'd allow me to." He quickly cleared his throat before pulling out his phone and dialing her number.
"Alright, while you do that I'm gonna start on dinner." Aren explained before exiting his room, leaving Kaidou some privacy. He knew how overbearing Kaidou's mom was and how embarrassed Kaidou would get around her.
"Kaidou, honey? Are you alright? Is there an emergency? Do I need to come pick you up? I knew that boy was a bad influence on you, I'm on my way now." Kaidou couldn't get a single word in before she began to spiral.
"No! Mother, I'm completely okay, I promise. I was just calling to ask if I could have a sleepover here tonight?" His voice wavered.
He knew since it was such short notice, there was a very little change she'd agree. Though, he wanted to try his luck regardless.
"Sweetie, you have none of your things with you. Wouldn't it be better to wait until next weekend instead?" He knew she would answer like this.
"I know, but Aren has a spare of everything! I can borrow his clothes for tonight and tomorrow, he said he doesn't mind. He even has a spare toothbrush just in case of times like this! I'm completely set to stay the night if you'd allow me to, please." He didn't want to beg like this, but this was such a rare opportunity! He couldn't just pass it up like this!
With his reasoning, his mom gave a heavy sigh.
"If you really want to and you make sure to throughly brush your teeth tonight. As well as make sure to not eat any junk food for the rest of the night, then I guess it'll be alright." Joy had never filled his veins so quickly before.
"Thank you momma! I do really want to. Thank you again for agreeing on such short notice! I love you!" At the sound of his giddiness, he received another sigh, though this one was filled with nothing but love.
"I love you too, sweetie. Be safe, don't go anywhere after dark, and don't go on that death trap motorcycle of his!" After her last-minute additional rules, Kaidou quickly agreed to them before hanging up.
"She said yes!" Kaidou exclaimed before quickly, once again, regaining his composure and coughing awkwardly at his own outburst.
"That's awesome! Oh, and food's almost done. I can bring it to you if you want to pick out the movie for us to watch." Aren smiled brightly at the good news, finding Kaidou's enthusiasm adorable.
"Okay!" Kaidou agreed before once again going to Aren's room. He looked through his DVD selection before coming across one in a clear case that had the print 18+ written on it.
He looked at it a moment in confusion, though before he could fully process what it was, Aren walked into the room.
"Oh, I don't think we should eat while watching that one. We'd get too distracted to finish the food I worked hard to make." The joke was made so casually it made Kaidou's head spin.
"Wh- what?! No! No way! I'm sorry - I didn't mean to look at this! I just, it was in with the rest and I didn't know-?!" Kaidou was cut off by the sound of Aren's loud laughter.
"Dude, chill. It's okay, I was just messing with yah anyways. It's not like you've never seen a porno before, there's no need to freak out over it so much." At the statement, Kaidou's blush only darkened even more than before.
When Aren noticed Kaidou didn't join in with his laughter, he genuinely looked at Kaidou. "Have you never seen a porno before?" His tone held nothing but shock, no judgement or mockery, just simple shock.
"What?! Of- of course I have! I've seen so many! Not too many though, like a normal amount of them! Anyway, let's change the topic now! We should watch this movie, I've heard good things about it!" Kaidou panicked and picked out the first movie he saw that wasn't the 18+ one.
After putting the disc in the player, he moved over and sat on the floor in front of Aren's bed. Aren was on the other side, eating his food, Kaidou's food was between them. When Kaidou went to get his food, he noticed Aren staring at him.
"Wha- what's with that look?!" He asked, holding the food to his chest in almost a defensive position.
At the reaction, Aren laughed more, this time much softer than before. "Nothin', sorry." He shrugged before turning towards the TV, seeing the play screen to The Secret Life Of Pets.
Kaidou blushed even darker at the screen, though before he could say anything about it Aren spoke up first.
"Mmh, yeah. I like this movie too, especially the bunny. I feel like I can relate to him, you know? Though, I didn't get adopted by a little girl. I got adopted by you." Kaidou knew exactly what Aren was talking about. He'd already seen this movie in theaters with his mom when it first came out.
At the phrasing, his blush only got impossibly darker. "I mean, you and Saiki and Nendou all took me into your friendgroup and I'm forever grateful you all." Aren clarified, a blush of his own dusting his cheeks.
"Yeah! Yeah, I mean, it would be insane not to! Especially after you helped beat up those guys who were trying to mug Saiki and I, that one time in freshman year!" Kaidou recalled, practically having stars shining in his eyes at the memory.
"I've never seen anything so cool before! You were so cool and calm and you took them down with one punch each! Of course, I could've taken them on easily, myself. That's why I originally told you to run with Saiki, but still! You were incredibly brave to step in and help me out anyway!" Kaidou had turned to look directly at Aren when speaking.
The moment he had finished talking, Aren didn't know how to respond. He'd never been praised for beating someone up before, or really at all, over anything before.
"Th-thank you, Kaidou." Aren stammered out before quickly clearing his throat and looking back down at his food.
Kaidou thought the reaction was unlike his usual one, though he didn't press it. Instead, he too went back to the food and started eating it happily.
When the two finished their food, Aren collected the plates and washed them in the kitchen before returning to his room. However, when he came back inside, he noticed Kaidou had moved.
He was now laying down on Aren's bed, his stomach to the mattress, with one of Aren's pillows propping his head up enough to still see the TV comfortably.
The only issue with this new spot was, Aren only had a twin size mattress that barely held himself. There was no way they could both fit on the bed comfortably without them touching in some way.
So, without speaking, Aren walked over to his bed and laid down beside Kaidou. His interest was completely lost to the movie and entirely focused on Kaidou.
He was resting on his side, his arm wrapped loosely around Kaidou's back and his legs tangled themselves with Kaidou's.
At the sudden affection, Kaidou freaked out.
"Wha-what are you doing?! Are you okay? Are you sick??" Even though his words seemed panicked, his bodies reactions were entirely the opposite.
His attention was too entirely lost from the movie and turned to the man beside him, looking up at him with nothing but pure admiration.
"You don't have a feaver, are you okay though? Did something bad happen when you went to the kitchen? A bad phone call or memory or something?" His tone was so filled with concerned it made Aren's heart squeeze tightly in his chest.
"Please never change, Kaidou." Was all Aren could get out before pulling the smaller one on top of himself. He wrapped both of his arms around Kaidou's waist and hugged him tightly, burying his face into the crook of Kaidou's neck.
"Augh! Um?! Okay, I won't, I promise!" It didn't take long at all for Kaidou to literally melt into the embrace. The only time the two left it was when the movie stopped and they decided to get ready to sleep.
While they brushed their teeth, Kaidou refused to look at Aren, and he seemed to have a permanent blush adorning his features, which only grew darker when Aren gave him his clothes to change into.
The moment Aren got under the covers, laying properly this time, and pulled them back for Kaidou; there was zero hesitation to join him once more.
This time Aren was lying on his back and Kaidou rested against his chest with Aren's arms still securely wrapped around his waist. Neither of them spoke much after that, only saying goodnight before sleep took them under quickly.
The next morning, the two woke up much later than they usually did, sometime around 11am. Neither of them had slept that well since they were little kids.
The monent Kaidou noticed the time, he panicked and rushed to collect his things. "Thank you so much for having me over! The sleepover was incredibly fun and I hope to do it again sometime! I'm sorry for abruptly leaving but I need to be home by lunch or my mom will have my head. Goodbye!" Kaidou quickly explained while bowing to Aren, before he ran out of the house, down a few blocks, and into his own.
Kaidou having sleepovers at Aren's house quickly became a normal trend between the two. As well as physical affection. It didn't matter if they were in front of their other friends or not, it felt entirely natural to one another, so they never really thought about it.
No one questioned them about it. Saiki claimed to not care, though he already knew about each other's true feelings for each other, and of course supported them. Nendou didn't notice, and the girls were still too obsessed with Saiki to notice them either.
So, the two continued to have sleepovers and act like an actual couple without officially being one.
Durring a specific sleepover, closer to the dreaded start of school, Kaidou came across that 18+ DVD again.
He knew what it was, but he didn't know what was in it. There was no cover displaying anything. The only thing on it was the 18+ sign on it, no other words or descriptions.

"You look at the DVD every time I ask you to pick a movie. You're obviously curious as to what's inside, so just put it on. It won't be weird unless we make it weird, you know?" He was saying everything as if it was the most casual idea ever.
"I mean... if you insist." Kaidou shrugged, faking his nonchalantness as much as he possibly could. Aren put the DVD in and moved back to sit on his bed. Kaidou was already sitting there, though this time neither of them were touching the other in any way.
Kaidou couldn't believe the title screen. It was of two dudes grinding on each other against a window, both of them completely naked. His eyes went wide and his mouth dropped open in shock.
He didn't verbally say anything though. He'd never seen this before. He didn't know two dudes could have sex together. He knew gay people existed, but he didn't think about sex in their relationships.

"And why's that? Why didn't you think I was gay? Do I not act the way you think gay people should?" Aren too stood up now, slowly making his way over to Kaidou, who had his hands up in front of himself, shaking them wildly.
"No! No, not at all! I didn't mean anything by it! I just- most people aren't out, you know? It's still frowned upon by most people, so I just wasn't expecting anyone to be. Or to come out, you know? I support you, of course! I still want to be friends!" While rambling, Aren continued to step closer and closer to Kaidou. By now, he had backed up, flush against the bedroom wall.
"Yeah, that's good. Now, I want you to think about our friend group. Do you think anyone else might be gay? Or bi or anything else like that?" He put his hand beside Kaidou's head, not fully caging him in yet.
"Um, no?" Kaidou's voice was weak now, he felt Aren's knee slide between his own legs. He could feel his own boner press against Aren's thigh while he lightly moved his leg side to side.
"Ahh! Wait! I'm sorry!" At Kaidou's panicked words, Aren stopped his movements and leaned back slightly.

"That's okay, Shun. Tell me what you want to do. We can even just cuddle if that's what you want." Aren's voice was much softer and reassuring than before. He sat beside Kaidou, his hands once again wrapping around Kaidou in a reassuring hold.
"No! I want to, I want to do something with you, I just can't think of anything other than grinding." Kaidou's blush darkened impossibly deeper at what he was saying.

Kaidou obeyed and did as he was told. He propped himself up against Aren's pillows, sucking in a sharp breathe when Aren hooked his fingers through his belt loops.
"Breathe. It's okay, I've got you." Aren reassured, leaning up once again to kiss Kaidou while he slipped off his pants and boxers in one pull.
Immediately Kaidou tried to cover himself up, though Aren caught and pinned his hands down. "You're beautiful, don't hide from me." He continued to praise and reassure Kaidou at every chance he could.

"Can I be your boyfriend?" The question knocked the wind out of Kaidou's lungs. He'd never been asked out before, he didn't know that was even possible for someone to do.
"Y-yes! Yes, please! Yes." Kaidou quickly exclaimed, wrapping his arms once again around Aren's shoulders, pulling him back onto the bed into their warm embrace.
"Good. Thank you. Now, let's get some rest, yeah?" Aren smiled brightly, placing one last soft kiss to Kaidou's temple before the two got comfortable under the covers.
"Goodnight." Kaidou whispered against the crook of Aren's neck. "Goodnight." Aren whispered back against Kaidou's hair.
