I wanted to say this face to face, or... as close as we can get halfway across the world. I tried, and I couldn't get the words out. Written the lot of this a few times now, made sure you were asleep, and I feel like a coward.
What happened with me and Karn was all us. It was a long time coming, and it didn't have anything to do with any of this.
I didn't give you a proper answer before, but no. I don't want you to stop playing that part. If I'm honest I'm afraid of what it'd look like to everyone. I have been, this whole time. Because the lack of it would say so much more than just continuing on like nothing happened. Not just to them, but to me.
I think I needed to admit to myself that I'd miss you like that, Gem. I really would. Because it's us, isn't it? Past all the stuff for show, it's always been us at the centre of it.
I don't know where that leaves us. Or me, really. I don't know what I want. I don't know if I'm ready to even know what you want. This is all new to me.
I just don't want anything to change. I hope that's okay.
