If the axe that severs my neck is gripped by the hand that shook mine on that very first day, do I still love you?

If the knuckles that mar my face are the same ones that I kissed with reverence this morning; do I still love you?

If the bloodied crown is nestled in the same hair that I carded my hands through just last night; do I still love you?

If the wicked glint in your eyes only reminds me of the adoration they once held; do I still love you?
