The air was musty and damp as Chisaki strolled into the alleyway. Careful not to brush the walls and avoiding the filth on the ground, he moved through the gloom. Thankful for his ever present mask that filtered the air.
As he took the first turn, Chisaki felt the weight of a stare on his back. A shiver ran down his spine and his lips twitched into a grin. “Hi Bunny,” he breathed into the night, never pausing his steps.
Listening closely, he heard “Kai,” whispered in response. The presence followed Chisaki as he continued turn after turn until finally he saw a light up ahead.
Slowing his steps and lifting his chin, he stepped into the dim lamplight. Three people lounged against the walls. Coming to a stop, Chisaki’s eyes flicked up and to the right where he saw a brief flash of green settle on the roof of the building next to him, before looking back to the people before him.
Chisaki quickly assessed the three people and groaned internally. What a waste of time. He thought to himself as one figure pushed off the wall. The man before him was tall and broad and moved with a cocky swagger. As he approached, the man’s muscles bulged under his sleeves as he intentionally flexed his arms. Chisaki barely resisted rolling his eyes. The two lackeys still lounging against the wall grinned stupidly at their leader’s display. One of them had what looked like leathery wings tucked behind his back and the other had overly sharp teeth that gleamed in the lamplight.
“‘Bout time,” the man said as he approached and spat onto the ground between them. Chisaki’s nose wrinkled in disgust. “You’re part of the Shie Hassaikai?” the man asked while glancing up and down at Chisaki.
Chisaki couldn’t hold back the eye roll this time. “Yes,” he stated, already bored with this encounter. “How do you think you can benefit our group?”
“You expect me to believe that a scrawny weirdo like you is part of the yakuza?” The man guffawed and his two lackeys joined in. “There’s no way! What’s even with your mask? You supposed to be some kind of creepy bird? Hah!” The group’s laughter rang through the alleyway. Chisaki heard the slight scrape of a boot on the roof to his right and flicked his hand out to the side. Wait. He signalled quickly before lazily tucking his hands into his jacket.
Chisaki lifted one eyebrow and focused back on the group before him. “You have one minute to convince me this wasn’t a colossal waste of my time.”
“What the fuck does that mean?” the leader grunted and crossed his arms. “You haven’t even proved you’re a member of the Shie Hassaikai!”
“I don’t care if you believe me or not, I’m the one you need to convince. And so far, I am unimpressed. The very small window of time you have to prove your worth is closing.” Chisaki paused as the man gaped before him. “Tick tock.”
The man before him clenched his jaw and Chisaki saw a vein throb at his temple. “What the fuck!” the man growled. “I’ll show you what I can do, you fucking dumb bird!” The man shook out his arms and Chisaki watched as they seemed to turn to stone. “I’m gonna pound you into the ground!”
Chisaki sighed. “Another muscle-brained idiot,” he said as he watched disinterestedly. “I’ve already got one of those.”
The man roared and charged at Chisaki. Just as the man pulled back a stone arm to punch him, Chisaki saw a flash of green. A boy with wild green curls and brilliant green eyes latched onto the back of the stone man and plunged a dagger straight into his neck. Chisaki grinned under his mask and felt a thrill run through his body. The stone man toppled to the ground with a look of utter bewilderment as the small figure gracefully hopped off his back and landed before Chisaki.
“Perfect timing, as always Izuku,” Chisaki said when his eyes met the vibrant green ones before him. Reaching out a gloved hand, Chisaki ran his thumb over the few freckles visible above Izuku’s dark mask. Izuku leaned into the touch with a soft sigh. His eyes fluttering closed for a moment before flashing up to meet Chisaki’s gold ones.
Chisaki and Izuku were pulled from their moment by the enraged screams of the two men still standing in the alleyway. “You’ll pay for that!” One man shouted as his wings stretched out behind him. The other sank into a crouch, his sharp teeth clenched in a snarl.
“I’ll handle them, Kai!” Izuku cheered excitedly and started toward the two men. Chisaki’s eyes raked over Izuku’s lithe form as he sauntered closer to the two men. “Watch me?” Izuku called with a glance over his shoulder and a sway to his hips.
“Of course, Bunny,” Chisaki responded, eyes fixed on Izuku’s dark clad body. “You know I love watching you work. How could I ever look away?”
Izuku chuckled before dashing forward and leaping at one of the men. Chisaki watched as Izuku landed every punch and kick. His body moved with such fluidity and grace. Bending and twisting to avoid every attack aimed at him. As Chisaki watched, he could feel his blood rushing south and a pleasant warmth starting to creep into his abdomen.
