Santa hadn’t been feeling well, he was tired, nauseous, and today he had started cramping with a lot of back pain.
“Baby don’t go to practice if you don’t feel well. Call P’Aou and tell him you’re sick” Perth said softly not wanting Ta to go to practice and be even more miserable than he already was.
“It’s okay Phi. I’ll be fine” Ta said softly rubbing his face a little as he grabbed his bag.
“Okay, I’ll drop you off, please call me if it gets any worse. I know you said probably just your cycle but you are very obviously hurting and there is absolutely no reason you should have to push through it.” Perth said softly kissing his head gently
“I will Phi, I promise” Ta nodded
Perth dropped him off and texted the other members to make sure they would call him if Santa looked worse.
They started off with a few dances and Ta managed to get through them but after he just laid in the floor while everyone else discussed songs and started a live. He toughed it through another thirty minutes before excusing himself to the restroom. He was leaned over his hands flat against the bathroom counter, trying to breathe through the almost constant pain.
Pond decided to go check on him just in case. “Santa? You okay?” he asked as he knocked on the door
“Ngh- Call Phi Perth please” he sobbed softly gripping at anything he could.
“I already called him; he’s on his way. I-um Phu is here. I will send him in yeah? Maybe he can help” Pond said softly just not wanting to make him uncomfortable
“W-want Phi”
“I know, he’s on his way he said about 15 minutes”
Luckily, Phu, Dunk, and Boom were there today so they had plenty of help.
“Ta, unlock the door” Phu said softly and Ta finally reached up and unlocked it.
He had slid down into the floor, back against the wall, he was wearing shorts so you could see the blood and fluid running down his thighs. His face was tear stained as he gripped the railing on the wall.
“Do you feel pressure? Like the urge to push?” Phuwin asked and Santa just nodded his head rolling back against the wall
“Where is Perth? And can someone please bring me some towels and water.” Phu yelled out the door.
About that time a strong contraction rapped around Ta’s abdomen and around his back, he let out a pain sob trying to lift himself up slightly.
Perth was running through the halls as fast as he could, picking up the pace even more when he heard the cry as he got off the elevator.
He immediately kneeled in front of Santa as he got in the bathroom reaching up to wipe his cheek gently.
“Hey baby, tell me what’s going on so I can help” Perth said softly
“It hurts Phi, hurts”
“I know baby, but what hurts?”
Ta pointed to his lower belly, back, hips, and pelvis.
“Can I see?” he asked softly rubbing Ta’s thigh gently as he nodded and let Perth move his legs and get his shorts and underwear off. Perth managed to stay calm, but he immediately knew what was going on.
“Tata, baby I have move you.” Perth said softly lifting Ta up sitting him on a towel gently “Can someone please pull my car around to the front?” Perth asked tossing the keys towards Pond
“What is going on?” Pond asked standing in the doorway.
“I am currently looking at the top of a baby’s head. One we had absolutely no idea about” Perth said from his spot between Santa’s legs
There was no time to react before Ta cried out in pain reaching for Perth who immediately leaned forward allowing the smaller boy to hang onto him for support. Perth had him completely in his arms for the moment.
Ta held onto him gripping his shirt tightly, with absolutely no plan to let go.
“Have to let me put you down baby, so I can help. I’m not going anywhere I promise.
Ta reluctantly let Perth sit him gently on the towel
“Can someone come sit behind him? Support his back, he’s way too tired” Perth said softly and Aou was the closest, so he came and sat behind Ta supporting his back
Perth knew Santa wouldn’t let anyone else touch him, so he stayed between his legs grabbing another towel
“Eyes on me, I need you to listen my baby” Perth said softly
Ta looked up with teary eyes
“Deep breath, catch your breath for me baby.” Perth said softly soothing him, rubbing his thighs gently to calm him down. “There we go. Now you have to push baby. I know you’re tired and you’re hurting but this is the only way you can get some relief.”
Ta whined softly but nodded pushing down into where he felt the most intense pressure. It hurt so bad but brought a slight feeling of relief as well. He let out a pained gasp as he released the push.
“I know baby, I’m so sorry” Perth whispered softly. He hated to see his boy without a smile on his face let alone in this much pain
Ta pushed again with yet another intense contraction, he bared down as hard as he could. His face flushing a light shade of pink, his hair sticking to his damp forehead.
“Gentle pushes baby, gentle. You’re going to hurt yourself” Perth said softly as the baby’s head got closer. Ta was small, he has small hips, small waist, a generally small body. So having a baby was hard for him especially completely unprepared. He pushed again and again. He was so tired. He wanted it to be over. So, he bared down harder and let out a scream as the baby’s head came out and he tore.
“Fuck” Perth whispered as he put pressure on the damaged skin. “it’s okay baby, it’s okay. Almost done. “Where is the ambulance?” He asked Pond
“10 minutes out" Pond called out from where he was still on call with the operator
“P-phi I-I can’t I can’t” Ta sobbed falling back against Aou. He was exhausted, he felt defeated, and he was in more pain than he’d ever been in.
“Hey, Hey look at me, look at Phi” Perth said softly making Santa look at him “I know you’re tired, I know you’re hurting but you can do this. You’re so close to being done baby, so close.” He said softly grabbing his hand bringing it down to the baby’s head “they’re right there baby, push just a little more”
Ta nodded hiccupping slightly as he cried and took a deep breath before pushing again.
“Just one more push baby, one more”
Ta pushed down as hard as he could, suddenly there was a rush of fluids as the baby came out into the towel Perth had waiting. He cleared her airway gently before laying her on Ta’s chest as she let out a high-pitched cry.
“Oh-oh my god” Ta said in absolute shock as he looked down at this tiny baby on his chest. He was absolutely relieved as the pain and pressure washed away. “w-we have a baby” he whispered softly looking up at Perth
“Yes, we do, a perfect little girl” he whispered softly kissing Ta’s head putting a cool cloth on his forehead. “Can you stay awake for me baby? I need you to stay awake for me.”
Ta nodded his eyes fluttering slightly
“Pond, ambulance now.” Perth said softly because Ta was bleeding a lot and he knew that was not good.
Pond ran out to meet them and bring them in. They got Ta onto the stretcher and an IV started with fluids to try and keep him stable.
Perth was so incredibly stressed because he couldn’t ride with his fiancé and baby.
He ran out to the car before anyone could say anything, he was right behind the ambulance. He couldn’t go back with them, so he was pacing in the waiting room. The guy's got there a little bit later and sat with him until the doctor came out.
“Baby is doing great, perfectly healthy despite everything. Santa is stable now; we had to do a blood transfusion. Blood pressure is stable now, he’s okay now. We got him stitched up; he’s going to be sore for a bit. Going to be healing for a while, needs to take it easy for at least 6-8 weeks.” The doctor told Perth
“Can I see them?” He asked and they led him back to the room. Ta was pale and clearly exhausted but was learning to feed the baby.
“Hi beautiful” Perth said softly walking over kissing his head gently rubbing the baby’s head. Also holding a large bouquet. “I will get you so many more gifts”
Ta smiled softly looking up at Perth
“Don’t have to get me anything” he says softly leaning his head against Perth as he rubbed his head and back gently.
“Well, I am going to. You need a mom car, need comfy clothes, postpartum stuff, breastfeeding stuff. Need baby stuff. Need to get you good snacks, another heating pad, new blankets, comfy pillow. All the things you need it all” Perth rambled a little.
“Phi, Phi I’m okay. I promise.” Ta says softly
“What do you want to eat? You need some good food.”
“Ummmm sushi” he nods
“I can do that” he nods and orders all of his favorite foods.
Ta and baby had a few days hospital stay until doctors felt Ta was good to go. Their friends had gotten everything set up at the house for them, made or bought food, and their moms cleaned and organized. They were so grateful for the village they had to raise their baby in. Everyone was so supportive, loving, caring and happy for them. If they needed anything someone was always there to help, no questions asked and they never wanted anything in return.
The next month was full of healing, love, learning, family and most importantly baby snuggles.
