Work Text:

The Spain match was over. This really was what Nagi wanted to experience, huh? A football game with someone whom he can rely on emotionally as well as a player. How many things happened in such a short time periods? Nagi could recall having only binged an anime series in this amount of time, with himself being the same as always, with more of these units passing in a blink.

He hasn't forgotten how it felt to enter Blue Lock again. That Baldy who's got him into that side project didn't seem to irritate him to the core anymore, because the other two paired with him showed what he felt a lot better.

It wasn't just him that Nagi has gotten numb to, when he next saw Reo, it was set in stone. His vacant eyes and lack of expression made it clear to him. To Reo, Nagi wasn't his prized treasure to grow, he was a pebble that was discarded. And to Nagi, Reo isn't really a light anymore. He's become a pall that slowly but surely dissociated away. That's a sad expression, but one that seemed to fit well, not that he cared.

Though still, it did seem important, right? The Nagi from before would have found it impossible to have lived on his own without a Reo to lead him. He would have only been burnt by the fire he so wanted to douse, just to not do something that he really felt was straight up wrong, for no reason at all, it seemed. He wouldn't be in this bus, with the rest of a team that's broadcasted in international television. So in the end, maybe the Baldy signing his life away wasn't so bad.

Nagi turned to acknowledge the person next to him, who's trying to concentrate, reading the members' positions of the opposing team they're next set against. Though Nagi was able to relax once he reached the bus, it was obvious that Kira wasn't.

"Reo seems to have prepared a strategy for us, right?" asked Nagi.

"I don't want to leave Reo with everything" answered Kira. But that would only place a bigger burden on him.

As he was looking at his phone, his eyes constantly blinked. He was watching an interview of a player from the opposite team. It seemed to be Germany's.

Kira's grip on his phone loosened, and his blonde hair scraped Nagi's shoulder right before his head plopped. The inevitable had happened, it seemed. Kira Ryosuke who sleeps for one and a half hours less than the optimal amount had collapsed, with Nagi as the witness and caretaker. It's one of the things he could do in return of reaching out to him, as he is.

Somebody like Kira entering his life wasn't what Nagi had thought about earlier. Even after Reo had left, it was pleasure of feeling like a god that Nagi was chasing. At first he really seemed rude, questioning his appearance, and he even seemed to have a personal hatred for Isagi. To truly believe in something a lot would consider wrong, that's the same cause Nagi ultimately represents, was what got him to team up. That wasn't hovered over, stalked or planned, but that wasn't really coincidental either.

In another timeline, we'd either have the world collapsing, or Kira resting atop Nagi's shoulder, as the bus moves on the road smoothly.

Notes:

The title was made in reference to Nagi's description of the pleasure felt by a god. i think i missed a lot of stuff though, 'word vomit' is there in the desc for a reason
