Work Text:
When Ivan didn’t text him in the morning, Till knew something was up. Ivan was always clingy, constantly trying to contact him, calling at unheard hours in the morning and climbing through his window in the dark of the night, so when Till woke up to nothing, he instantly assumed the worst. Till knew his boyfriend too well, something had to be up.
Till begrudgingly stood up, ignoring the cracking noises his bones made, he knew he had to go to the gym soon, which would mean taking up Ivan’s offer. Throwing on a sweater and sweatpants, Till quickly grabbed his phone before quietly leaving his room and exiting his house.
The weather wasn’t too bad, a nice spring day in the streets of Hongdae, but Till’s mind kept wandering. What if Ivan was hurt, what if he was hospitalized, what if he went into a coma and could never remember who his own boyfriend was-! Till had to snap out of his thoughts as he accidentally walked straight into a pole, startling him slightly. Till could hear the laughter of a young boy walking by, but he wasn’t too focused on that. The store to his right was a convenience store, and knowing Ivan, the boy probably hadn’t eaten, he never ate unless given food. To Ivan’s defense, Till hadn’t eaten either, but to Till’s point, he had only woken up less than an hour ago.
By the time Till had left the store, he had at least 3 bags of food and snacks prepared for Ivan. Different snacks with higher protein, considering Ivan’s insistence on needing to hit his macros, but also other snacks Till knew Ivan enjoyed. They had known each other since childhood, and while Till would get adventurous with what he ate, he noticed Ivan would usually have the same things everyday, the same bland meals, the same familiar snacks.
Eventually, after an hour of walking, Till made it to the nice rich neighbourhoods. Till always liked the walk to Ivan’s place, with Ivan living along the Han River. His parents were rich rich, but also neglected their children massively, leaving Ivan alone for a majority of his childhood. His parents were always out, never home to care, and they got more and more distant to the boy after he had been diagnosed with autism. Because he had been starved of so much attention, Ivan ended up with severe attachment issues, being excessively clingy or possessive, especially over Till. Till never minded the attention, but he would never admit that to Ivan’s face.
Unlike how it was when Till usually came over, it was nice and bright outside, and his sister was the one to answer the door. She stood there for a second just blinking, silk white pajamas still on and her hair tied back in a small ponytail.
“Till? Did Ivan call you- You know what, just come inside.” Sua said calmly, the time being clearly too early for her despite it being well past eleven in the morning. She stepped slightly aside so Till could enter, shutting the door behind him. Till quickly took off his shoes then ran upstairs, bag in hand, only slowing down after making it to Ivan’s room.
Till softly opened the door, expecting and waiting for the worst, but the sight he was met with made his heart almost melt. Ivan’s blackout curtains were pulled shut, and the boy was curled up under a pile of blankets. His phone was right beside his head on a pillow, and despite the fact that Ivan was standing at the height of 186cm, he looked small. Till silently shut the door, then placed the bag of snacks down beside it. Judging from the slightly scattered clothing, and Ivan’s equipment bag sitting at the side of the room, it looked as if the boy had a long night with sports.
Till walked over to Ivan’s bed, and knelt down beside it, just staring at his boyfriend's face. He never usually got to see Ivan this relaxed, completely unmasked and at peace. He stared at his boyfriend until the other slowly started to wake, moving slightly in his sleep then opening his eyes just a crack.
“Till..? Am I dreaming..” The boy muttered, voice slightly hoarse due to waking up, but to Till, it was like the most beautiful song he’d ever heard.
“No dummy, now move over.”
Till got up from the floor, moved Ivan’s phone to his bedside table, and slowly got under the covers. He pulled Ivan close soon after, letting the taller man rest his head on Till’s chest with his arms around his waist, and he couldn’t help but kiss the top of his head a couple times. Any snacks could wait, and any worries could be set aside, as sleep pulled both of them under again, letting them drift into a world of peace and slumber, arm in arm.
