Work Text:
"In the distant sky I fell in love with you..."
Fiery eyes glance at the broad horizon of stars ahead. An infinite amount of stars. That's a lot. Especially for someone who's searching for another.
Tsukasa has been so bored lately, it's been insufferable. Time feels like it doesn't move at all and the next day just won't arrive. He hasn't been doing anything proper either. That combined with everything does not help.
Well, it's not like he normally does much anyway, but it has been feeling a lot less fulfilling the past few weeks. Sure, he can watch the stars and count the planets in sight and everything, but is there any point when he is somewhere in the same universe. He being this gorgeous human Tsukasa found while spying on the planet Earth. Why would he do anything other than observe the boy?
Tsukasa of course tried to focus on everything else, but he just hasn't been able to. The feelings just loop and loop. Every time the human crosses his mind he feels like twirling his hair and doing a bunch of somersaults around the orbit. It's incomprehensible even for the ever-so-great light-haired entity called Tsukasa!
He's given the situation quite a lot of thought and come to a conclusion: There's nothing in the whole universe he wouldn't do to meet the boy from Earth. It's so hard being able to see everything while being so far away! All Tsukasa does all day is observe humans, why not go and actually meet one? Maybe then it would've been useful to stare at a certain human's actions and flowy purple hair and those beautiful yellow eyes.
Tsukasa has learnt so much about the boy. He's an inventor. He makes stuff from all kinds of things, for all kinds of things! He also disliked eating vegetables- Interesting, since Tsukasa always thought they were good for humans.
It's funny. For the whole time Tsukasa has been able to, he has observed life on the planet Earth. He has learnt about humans and the way they live and communicate and go about their days. Yet not a single human before has made him feel like- this. Whatever this is. Like he's about to explode like a supernova.
It really is horrible how he can't just barge into some human's backyard. He wishes that more than anything, especially from so far away.
"...despite knowing that I won't reach."
Rui Kamishiro has been so unfocused lately. Sure, he has been feeling inspired- but by all the wrong things! When he's supposed to do his homework or draw some blueprints for a new robot, nothing comes to mind. However, when he's staring at the sky at night, his mind starts racing and coming up with all these stupid ideas.
All the faraway stars really pique his interest. Especially one aspect of it all: humans can not be the only form of life in this universe. How could they? There's so much to discover and myths to debunk and there's still people who say there are no aliens!
Rui's head falls to his hands. He wishes to know the far galaxies and planets. Most importantly, however, he wishes to concentrate on his work.
"Ah, I want to see you..."
Tsukasa finds himself searching for that same window again. He can feel his heart racing as his eyes meet with a familiar shade of purple mixed with a few strands of turquoise. The boy seems to have fallen asleep on his desk. Tsukasa smiles.
It's not that he couldn't travel to Earth to see the boy in question. It's just that humans aren't really used to meeting people from other parts of the universe. Tsukasa wonders if the boy would be traumatized for life if they were to see eachother. Still, even the idea of being face to face with the other and looking into his golden cat-like eyes makes Tsukasa feel lightheaded.
"...this feeling loops and loops."
Rui dreams of the stars. As he has for a few nights now.
In every dream he meets someone while floating through an infinite sea of stars. He never sees the other's face, though. Just hears a bright laugh and feels a hand guide him across the galaxies. Rui likes to think the person is from somewhere else. Somewhere far away.
He's once again being guided by that mysterious person. It feels so nice floating and exploring and being with someone without any questions about the situation. Rui would live in this dream forever. If he could just see the other's face, though... Rui lifts his gaze up to take a peek-
And suddenly, he awakens to a light knock on his window.
