Chapter Text
As the spell hit them she cursed at the gods for sticking her with Harry, of course they would end up in this mess together, he had hated her the minute he laid his eyes on her all because she was Severus's daughter. She adored her father, he helped her with potions and understanding her course work on a deeper level than what the professors asked them to do.
She had few friends in Hogwarts, none significant enough to mention as they outwardly hated her for who her father was, but she never resented him. They floated through time, glaring at each other until they landed hard in front of an old building, 'This is all your fault, Potter.' she hissed, spitting his name at him, 'How is it my fault, your greasy father sent me to get you.' he hissed back, she made a gesture at him that her grandmother would have called unladylike before walking away.
'Do you know where we are?' he asked after a few minutes of silence but she ignored him until she saw her house. He followed her and watched as tears welled up in her eyes before she pushed them away. She hesitantly knocked on the door and took a few steps back, knowing that if her father answered he would be pissed off to see Potter with her.
The door slowly creaked open and a man stood in the doorway, 'What?' he asked angrily and she could hear the tv playing in the background, 'I-is Severus here?' she asked, nervous to be face to face with the man who had abused her father, the man grunted angrily before slamming the door in their faces, they heard yelling and loud banging before the younger version of her father opened the door, looking nervous and angry with his father.
'What do you want?' he asked, voice low and dangerous, he looked between the pair and his face paled at the sight of Harry before he focused on Eileen, 'I was hoping to speak with you about school.' she said, keeping her voice calm and he looked over his shoulder before walking out of the house. He silently stood in front of her and she gave him a small smile.
'Is there somewhere we can talk that is a little more private?' she asked, her hand instinctively going to the dark mark on her arm that was forced upon her, his eyes tracked the movement before understanding flashed in his eyes, 'Of course.' he said in a low whisper before leading them away from his house and down a winding path.
Eileen knew this path, where every root would be and she navigated them as well as Severus before they stopped at a field, he turned to face them with his cold detached mask in place and she just smiled before sitting down. 'I am Eileen Snape, your daughter from the future.' she said softly but she knew he heard her, his face went slack and his eyes widened.
'This is Harry Potter, the son of Lily and James.' she said with disdain and he looked at him with anger in his eyes, 'Why are you telling me this? Doesn't that break the rules of Time Travel?' he asked after a few minutes of silence, just as she expected him to. 'Time from this point on doesn't exist, you created a spell for this specific moment.' she replied and watched as his eyes shined at her response.
Harry hesitantly sat down next to her and Severus watched as she moved further away from the boy, he hid his smirk as he looked over at the woman claiming to be his daughter, 'You look like my mother, but you have a different nose.' he said, his voice curious but cold. 'You said I was lucky, you didn't want me to get treated how you have been treated. I am your fiercest protector in my time.' she whispered and he nodded as the bad memories flashed in his mind.
'Why did I create this spell?' he asked, not fully trusting the woman before him but playing along with her, 'To stop you from going to Voldemort, but I realise that that has already happened, hasn't it?' she asked and his eyes widened, Harry looked between the two with shock on his face but she ignored him even as he started talking to himself.
Severus looked at Harry with weariness in his eyes and Eileen felt pain in her chest. 'I have come here hoping to help you escape. I have more than enough funds to let us have a comfortable life far away from this dreary place and you can finally be at peace.' she whispered and his eyes snapped back to hers, they were exactly the same as his own, only hers was outlined with makeup.
'Will he be coming with us?' he asked, hesitantly motioning to Harry, 'Unfortunately so, we were sent back together so we must stay together.' she replied, her own hesitation clear to him, 'How do I know that any of this is the truth?' he asked suddenly and she slowly stood up, 'Use Legilimency, I won't block my mind from you.' she said softly and maintained eye contact with him.
Within seconds she felt his magic poking at her shields and she slowly opened her mind to him, she felt him look through all of her memories, he didn't see any trace of a mother in her life and wondered what could have happened, how could he have raised this girl on his own while being a double agent for two of the most powerful men.
When he left her mind she felt lightheaded and grabbed a tree branch for support, Harry was still talking to himself, getting angrier as time went on and Eileen finally snapped, 'Would you stop your god awful complaining, if you didn't interrupt my training you wouldn't fucking be here.' she growled and he slowly turned to her with a manic glint in his eyes.
'It is not my fault that your father made me come after you, he didn't know it was training and when he saw us and cast that spell, I was helpless. Now I am stuck here with you and him. I can't even go and see my parents because Dumbledore will get involved and neither of us want that.' he hissed and she smirked, 'See, now you are thinking like a Slytherin, it only took you seven bloody years.' she yelled.
The manic look in his eyes turned to rage and she felt her chest tighten, 'My godfather wants nothing to do with me because I am a Slytherin, do you know how that feels? To have the one connection to your parents hate you for a house you were sorted into?' he asked, rage clear in his voice, 'At least you know who your parents are. I never met my fucking mother, she doesn't even exist in my mind.' she replied, her own rage coming to the surface.
'I have no one, you have your father. All I had was a cupboard under the stairs.' he growled and she faltered slightly, 'And who got you out of there? Me. I helped you escape that home when you were 14, I knew what they were doing to you because it happened to my father. I felt bad for you and Slytherin's help their own, I did a kindness that no one, not even Dumbledore, thought to do.' she said, her anger coming back.
He looked at her with wide eyes before going quiet, 'I never did thank you for that, Miss Thorne was a good choice. She was better than most of the professors.' he chuckled and Eileen looked taken aback. 'You sent him to Miss Thorne?' Severus asked after a few minutes of taking delight in their argument, 'Yes, she was the logical choice, no one looked for him there.' she replied and Severus nodded.
'You said you could give me distance. From all of this. Where exactly are you proposing we go?' he asked quietly as Harry sat back down. Eileen looked away from him and looked at Harry, 'The only place no one would look for us there, it will be dangerous and not exactly safe for people like us, but years of training have allowed me the skills to protect people.' she replied and Harry looked at her, protests already making their way out his mouth.
She silenced him with a spell before pulling a glowing red orb from her bag, Harry watched her wearily as she expanded the orb with her magic, Severus watched her like a hawk as the orb was large enough to fit 3 or more people through it, 'That does not look safe.' Harry said as he hesitantly stood next to Eileen, 'It's not meant to be safe.' she replied, keeping her focus on the orb.
'Where exactly does that lead?' he asked cautiously. The orb rippled, the surface turning glassy, and Severus caught a glimpse of something dark and unfamiliar on the other side. Water. Steel. Shapes that did not belong to Britain. 'You are certain this will work?' he asked quietly, 'I spent my life working on this.' Eileen replied without hesitation.
Harry swallowed, hands clenched at his sides, 'And if it doesn’t?' he asked tensely, Eileen finally looked at him, eyes cold and unimpressed. 'Then we die very quickly,' she answered truthfully. Before Harry could argue further, Eileen stepped forward and grabbed Severus’s sleeve, pulling him toward the orb. The heat washed over them instantly, magic crawling under Severus’s skin like living fire. Harry swore under his breath and lunged after them, fingers brushing Eileen’s coat as the world shattered.
