Chapter Text
Public Safety wasn't a place to work if you were stable financially or mentally and Suguru's assignment to Special Division Four was about to prove this once again.
"Hayakawa Aki?" Geto waved at the man in front of him. "I'm Geto Suguru."
"Geto?" Hayakawa turned around and greeted him. "Welcome to Division Four. Where's your assigned devil?"
Geto could already feel a headache approaching and he grimaced, sucking air through his teeth. "He's..."
"SUGURU!!!!"
And there was the headache. All 160 centimeters of it.
"Look at what I found! I'm keeping them!" Two teens hung under the Satoru's arms, one with long hair and the other eating soft serve icecream. A smile took up half of his face and his blindfold the other half as he ran full tilt towards the two devil hunters like this was something to be proud of. At least the teens couldn't seem to care less.
"He gave me ice cream and he's going to let us pet a dog in his van later!" The boy teen exclaimed as he happily ate soft serve.
"Power has found a new servant!" the other one shouted.
"Satoru, no!" Geto yelled. He could feel his blood pressure rising. This wasn't the first time this happened since Satoru was assigned to him. Not even the first time this week. "How many times do I need to tell you not to kidnap children!?" Judging by the big smile on Satoru's face, the amount of times would probably end up being in the thousands.
"Is this your fiend...?" Aki asked.
"Yes... Are those yours?" Geto figured that those teens were odd for how calm they were despite being held by this weird tall man.
"Sadly."
It took some wrangling but they got Satoru to release the two fiends.
"Sorry about that! I'm the Eternity fiend. Call me Satoru!" He looked just as happy to stand there watching Denji and Power wrestle for the last bit of the icecream cone. Even with the shock of white hair, he could pass as a normal human with some odd fashion choices.
Aki looked to Suguru. "Eternity Fiend?"
"Yes. He's the one you're thinking of. I read your report. He hasn't shown signs of aggression or violent intent so there's no need to worry. If anything, he's highly paternal and..." Suguru looked for a way to phrase it without invading the fiend's privacy. The Eternity Fiend wasn't human but Suguru couldn't help but pretend some nights that he was.
The fiend didn't seem aware of them either way. He watched over the two teen fiends with a smile as they roughed housed. Denji, was losing and his shirt got loose. A chainsaw starter peaked out between the buttons.
In a small gust of air, Satoru was beside Geto and the next, he was a dozen meters away. He didn't have to be near the fiend to know that his smile was gone too.
"The report wasn't very detailed," Geto finally settled on, "but whatever your team did to him made him deathly afraid of chainsaws."
