“Hey, sorry,” Maki says quietly, licking his lips nervously. “I just saw you were looking for a book,” he pauses, when the guy stares at him without blinking. He's so beautiful, it feels like he's not even real. Maki clears his throat. “You look like an angel, so breathtaking.”
He frowns the next second, not knowing what just happened. Did he just say what was in his mind? Oh, fuck.
“Thank you, you're so sweet,” the guy whispers, his ears becoming red so quickly. “I was looking at you earlier, you look so hot in this jacket- Oh, I mean… I was,” he covers his mouth with his palm shyly. “I don't know why I- It was so… I'm sorry.”
Maki smiles softly, closing his eyes for a few seconds.
Yeah, he knows what is happening. How he didn't realise it right away?
They are telling each other everything they're thinking about.
This guy is his soulmate.
Fuck.
When Maki was thinking about the whole idea of meeting the soulmate, he was curious about this thing.
When you meet your soulmate, you can't tell them a lie, and the next 24 hours you're telling them everything that's on your mind.
It's not in control, so it's kind of weird.
The words are coming out of his mouth and he can't stop it.
“I didn't know it would be so stressful,” Maki says, his cheeks flushed. “I guess I should just shut up, because- Fuck, you're so tall it makes me feel even more flustered,” he groans, plops down at the nearest chair. “And I don't even know your name.”
“Oh, I'm… I'm Jo,” he swallows and sits down next to him, looking somewhere at the floor. “You're Maki, I know you. Kind of,” he shrugs, letting out a nervous laugh. “I mean, you're a star, so everyone knows you. You're really cool,” he says quietly, making Maki look up at him with a smile.
“Really?” He bites his lower lip. “I think you're so cute, I love your smile,” he blurts out, sighing. “It makes me happy every time I see you smiling, gosh, it's so awkward,” he leans back, covering his eyes with his palms. “Now when I sit here with you, I can't stop thinking about how beautiful you are and it makes it even worse, because I'm just saying everything right away.”
Jo giggles, and Maki thinks it's the most beautiful sound he ever heard.
“Do you even know how your presence affects me?” Maki mumbles. “When I first saw you I was like… Wow, he's so gorgeous, I want him to pin me against the wall,” he groans again.
It's unbearable. How should he survive this day? He's already so disgraced himself, it's actually crazy.
He's curious how Jo can be so quiet.
“That's… That's really interesting,” Jo whispers. “Because I was thinking the same about you. Well, almost the same, cause you always look so hot, but I'm too scared to talk to you,” he sighs. “I was really avoiding you. As you can tell now,” he chuckles, his smile grows bigger, when Maki looks at him. “Don't look at me like that, it makes me want to-” he pauses, biting on his lip.
Wow, Maki thinks, he has good self control.
“Want to..?”
Jo shakes his head slowly, swallowing.
Maki tilts his head to the side with a grin. “C’mon, you can't hold it back forever, Jo.”
And he's right. So Jo mumbles: “It makes me want to kiss you, but I'm too afraid to even think about it, because it would be weird. I mean, it's too fast,” he sighs, covering his face with his palm, but Maki can see his red ears.
Adorable.
“It's fast, but we're soulmates, so it's like… We're meant to be together,” he shrugs. “One day earlier, one day later, who cares?”
Jo chews on his lip nervously. “Me. I care.”
Maki lets out a shaky breath, “Oh- Oh, okay, I will wait until you're ready to do that,” he says, nodding, and gives him a smile.
And he means it. He can't lie right now, he physically can't.
Jo smiles back softly, “Thank you, that means a lot to me,” he whispers, and then: “Oh, goodness, you're so amazing, are you even real?”
It makes Maki giggle.
He's so whipped already, it's crazy.
