Chapter Text
Cid POV
Man, how did I get here again? I use the slime-suit to heave up onto a rooftop, recalling the events that had just happened.

“I am atomic!” I quickly fired a massive concentrated ray of atomic energy that consisted of 75% of the current magic stored in my body, vaporizing the demi-god chimera I was facing. Not being able to hold my breath any longer, I used a gravity spell to send me back into earth’s atmosphere, but visibly fate had other plans. As soon as I entered the earth's atmosphere, the black rose, an artificial door to other dimensions, activates once more and blinds me with snow-white light that blinds me for a few seconds. The next second I start falling as gravity pulls me towards the ground. Once I stick an epic landing, fitting for this world's saviour in my opinion, I take a look around, realizing that this wasn’t the world that I had been living in for the past 15 or so years.

I breathe out an exasperated sigh. What did I get myself into again? This is not exactly what I was expecting. But visibly, things have changed here. Or am I just not in Japan? I do get lost easily, after all. An Idea pops into my head, and I start drooling. If I am really in Japan, then they must at least have this…
Five minutes later, in an udon shop.
I slurp down my udon and slowly put my bowl down on my table with a clunk, satisfied with the meal. The shopkeeper looks at me strangely. “Are you gonna pay for that or…?” I quickly use my magic to wipe all traces of me in an instant and disappear in darkness out to the nearest alleyway. “The evidence wiping trick never fails.” I whisper to myself while walking out of the alley, transforming into my fancy costume into an everyday set of clothes. “So if I’m going to have to live in this world again, I’m going to need to find myself a stable source of income, a lodge and an I.D card.
The I.D Card is the easiest to do, so let’s start with that.” I then start wandering around, occasionally asking where the nearest library is. Of course, being me with a horrible sense of direction, I find the shopping mall instead. I am inside the grand building and about to start flying and use an invisibility spell to make it faster, when all of a sudden a car plunges out from where the fancy spinning doors were just seconds ago… “Oh Shi-” …and blows up in my face.
Casting quick defensive magic and turning invisible so no one sees me in the action, before cursing in as many languages as I can to calm down and think clearly. I am about to sneak away and mind my own business until a certain sight makes my breath catch in my throat.
An unconscious girl was drowning in a sea of waves. Normally I would take any injured and anonymously place them in hospital, but this time, something told me that that would be wrong. That if I didn’t save her, guilt would eat me up from the inside for the rest of my days. I slowly walk back into the flames and grab her before making a clone of her, and walk out of the mall with the limp body of the girl in my arms. Then I acknowledge the next logical thought that comes by. “So, where do we go from here?”
