Chapter 1: The Meeting

Chapter Text

It was a lonely night in the cabin, the moon obscured by a thick black fog, the only light coming from the dimly glowing fire in the living room. The survivors were gathered around the flame, planning their next move. “Well, we can’t keep running forever,” Shedletsky stated boldly, moving to the middle of the half-circle. “We’re going to have to fight back eventually, otherwise, we’ll just keep dying again and again and again forever!” He hefted his sword into the air. “If we kill the killers, our problem is solved, right?” Muttering filled the room. 007n7 shook his head, looking dejected, but Guest 1337 moved to stand next to Shedletsky. “I agree, we have to be strong.” He said, grinning. “If we’re weak, the killers will just use that against us. We need to attack them with a united front, one they won’t expect.”

“We can’t kill them,” 007 cried, looking panicked. “C00LK1D’s my son, and who knows if the other killers have people who care about them! If we kill them, we’ll be safe, sure, but who knows if it’s even possible? What if they respawn, just like us?”

This sparked more whispers, and TwoTime, usually so emotionless, seemed uncomfortable. They stepped up to stand next to Guest. “We have to kill them,” they said simply, “if we do, the Spawns will smile upon us, and our suffering will be over.” They smiled in that creepy way they usually did, all discomfort gone from their form, hands clasped in front of them. “Okay, okay,” 007 pleaded, desperate, “you can try to kill the other killers, but not C00LK1D. I’ve seen goodness in him, he’s still in there somewhere. Besides, he’s only a kid, he probably doesn’t even know what he’s doing. We just have to talk to him, and he’ll come back to us. Please.” Guest nodded reassuringly at 007n7, who let out a breath he clearly had been holding for a while. Shedletsky cleared his throat. “We might have to tie C00LK1D up, 007.” 007 looked up, nervous again. “We won’t hurt him,” Shedletsky said quickly, “But to get him to listen to us, in his current state, we might have to restrain him somehow.” 007 nodded, looking calm once more. “Speaking of killers not to kill,” Noob piped up, shy but determined, “Sixer, my friend, he’s in there.”
“In where?” Shedletsky asked, looking confused.

“The, uh… Big, red monster? Wears a hat?”

“That thing!?” Shedletsky almost tripped over the rug in shock. “Noob, we can’t kill that thing even if we wanted to! And talking to it, well… It seems like a lost cause.”

Noob looked down at their feet dejectedly. Chance stepped to stand next to Shedletsky, twirling their revolver around their finger. “Killing the killers seems easy enough,” he said, beginning to flip a coin. “Put a bullet between their eyes and boom! Just like that.” The other survivors nodded appreciatively, and Builderman seemed heartened. “I can help you with that,” he said to Chance, lifting his hammer and raising an eyebrow. They shared a moment together, both appreciating guns, before 007 stepped forward, looking concerned. “What about the people who can’t fight the killers? Me, Noob, Elliot, Taph, and Dusekkar? What do we do?” Taph stepped forward, their feathers bristling in annoyance. I can help, they signed, I can place down my trip mines and tripwires to disorient the killer. “Okay, but what about the rest of us?” 007 conceded, looking around at the others. Dusekkar stepped towards 007n7. “I can protect the fighters, you see. And Elliot can heal while you deceive.” They stepped back, seemingly thinking that they had solved the argument. “And Noob?” 007 pushed, glancing back at them. “I guess I could fix the generators,” Noob pondered, lost in thought. “Well, that settles it!” Shedletsky exclaimed, clapping his hands together. “We all have a job, and now we know what to do next round. Any last words?” He looked at everyone in turn, but no one spoke up. “Great. Meeting adjourned!” The survivors all went their separate ways.
