Chapter 1: Room 505.

Chapter Text

Kath's smile grew as she heard the first note from the song. Of course he would pick that one to start the concert today. After all it was none other than their anniversary tonight and what better song to sing to her than the one he wrote for the night they got together once again. So, as he sang it, her mind took a trip down on memory line.

------♪------

A deep sigh escapes Kath's lips as she looked at the backpack she carried for this small trip. If Poppy -her best friend- heard about this she'll probably scream at Kath for hours. But her brother asked her to do this and how could she not? Ominis went to hell and back for her and he rarely asked her for anything, so when he asked Kath to come to the their last concert of course she had to say yes. He even told her he was going to take the opportunity and propose to Anne and she love the two enough to be there for them, even if that meant seeing him again. After everything he'd done. It was years ago but it still hurts. Sometimes. When she let herself think about it. Kath shook her head, trying to clean it from all the shit and took the backpack to the bathroom. She needed to shower and get ready for the concert.

20 minutes later and she barely got anything done. Yes, she took a shower but now she was butt naked with just a towel around her body scrolling through Pinterest to find the perfect make-up for this situation. And suddenly, the door to her motel room opened. She screamt and grabbed the closest thing to her, ready to throw it to whoever got into her room without permission. A dark silhouette came in, whistling something she didn't recognize. The man turned once he closed the door and then he froze, shocked to see her there.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" She couldn't afford to let him say a word more. She'll probably fall to her knees and cry non-stop. Okay, this was definitely a bad idea.

"Your room? This is my room. You see? 505." He showed her the room key and, to her surprise, he wasn't lying.

Still shocked, and with a night lamp on her hand, she walked towards the night-stand and grabbed her own key to show it to him. "No, it's my room. Anne booked it for me, she-" Realization hit her like a brick. Anne. She should've know that sly snake would do something like this. Come on it was clear! Room 505. Katheryn has told Anne innumerable stories about that room. She was so focused in the whole proposal that she didn't noticed it at first.

"Were you going to hit me with that?" He pointed to the lamp and she blushed a little, rolling her eyes and leaving the lamp on the night-stand.

"I'm still thinking about it, don't tempt me" Kath groaned as she bend to pick her backpack once again. At that, a small grunt escaped Sebastian's lips. That was the moment she remember the only thing that protected her against his sight was a towel so she ran to the bathroom and locked the door, her face completely red. After what seemed like hours -probably just some seconds in reality- a soft knock could be heard.

"Are you really going to hide in the bathroom? Because we have hours until the concert starts and I need to take a shower too" His voice was low and soft, like he didn't want to scare her. Katheryn shook her head, unable to talk and when she noticed that he couldn't see her she facepalm herself mentally. "I'll need like 10 minutes and then I'll leave the room. I'll go to Anne's room to get ready" Sebastian chuckled and leaned on the door, or at least that's what Kath guessed since it sound like he did. "I suggest you don't do that. We just ate something together and they were all lovey-dovey so I bet they're at it while we're talking, well while I'm talking to a door"

Katheryn ignored him completely. She needed to think and get ready and he still had hours to do it. So she grabbed her phone, put on a playlist and started with her make-up.

Practically two hours later she opened the bathroom door, smiling proudly at her results. The white and yellow dress suited her perfectly. The open back leaving at sight her spine tattoo and the flared skirt giving her the confidence she needed to dance properly. She had another outfit prepared for tonight's concert but she wanted to give Sebastian a sight he won't forget and she knew how much he loved this kind of dresses on her. How he would walk beside her and trace her tattoo with his fingertips while he pulled the skirt with his other hand to- Nope. Not going there. It wasn't a thought she could afford right now. So, with that proud smile she left the bathroom and walked into the room. Sebastian took a peak at her from his phone, making it fell straight to his face. Katheryn couldn't hold the chuckle that escaped her lips, even he would have to admit it, it was a funny scene. Him, laying face up on the bed, probably scrolling through Instagram or watching edits of himself the fans made when his phone fell right into his nose. Sebastian moved the phone as he rubbed his nose, getting up from the bed. He opened his mouth and then closed it once again. Kath blinked, not used to a wordless Sebastian. "Like what you see, siren?" Fuck. The moment that word left her mouth she knew she shouldn't have said that. It just felt so natural. The nickname she used for him when they started dating and he didn't even dream of being an actual singer. She used to tell him how he could draw people to him with his voice, since it happened to her, and many other girls at college, and he always laughed about it. In the end, it seemed like a prophecy, seeing his life right now. A famous singer, not by himself of course, with his band, but that was another story. Sebastian's eyes closed as he smirked, clearly enjoying the nickname.

"I see you missed me, groupie" Kath groaned. She hated that nickname and he knew it. But of course he would use it just to spit her. She looked away, dropping her backpack near the front door of the room as she walked by it. "Stop day dreaming, Sallow. You have enough groupies to last a life time. I bet you already had some weird disease with the amount of girls that have been between your sheets" He trembled a little at her words but she didn't give it another thought as she leaned in to grab her rooms key from the night-stand she dropped them on before. But when she was getting up to leave the room, Sebastian grabbed her wrist. "Katheryn I-" She turned around, practically slapping his hand away from her. "Do not. Touch me Sebastian A. Sallow because I swear to god I'll beat your ass. And you don't want your pretty face to look bruised in the concert, right?" His hand felt to his side but not even a second later he was rubbing his face. "Look I swear I don't want to- to- I don't even know what you think I want. Let's think about this, okay? Anne set us up. I swear I knew nothing about this. I admit something inside me stir up when I read the room number but I didn't think too much into it. I-" He stopped, his chin touching his neck as he looked at the floor. "I... Just wanted to apologize. For calling you a groupie. I know you hate it it just... It slipped, okay? I'm sorry" For a second, Katheryn believed him. But just for a second. She only had to let herself think for a moment to remember everything he said to her via messages that fateful night to push all the forgiving thoughts away. "Look, it doesn't matter. I just want to leave. I came here for my brother and Anne. I wouldn't have come if it wasn't important or completely necessary so let's just be adults and ignore each other, okay?" Her fake smile wouldn't fool anyone but she was trying her best. Having him so close after all this time made her weaker than she expected.

After a deep sigh he looked at her once again and grew a sad smile. "I missed you. A lot. I don't think I could ignore you even if I was in my death bed" He took a step towards her as she took a step away. "Don't. You're the one who broke things off. You're the only who went no contact for years. Don't come with the pretty words" His face frowned. Was he really going to act like that? "Come on Katheryn, you're better than this. Don't fall for his sad smile and puppy eyes" Katheryn heard Poppy's voice in her mind, like a silent reminder that he couldn't be trusted. "What... What do you mean? You're the one who blocked me out of nowhere and wouldn't let anyone let me talk to you" Okay now she was confused. What the actual fuck. He has gotten better at acting she had to give him that. "C'mon, don't act like that with me. We're alone here but you won't get anything from me anymore. 'These groupies would do things you wouldn't even dream to me'. Those were your exact words. 'I don't want to see you again. Not even a stupid hair'" Katheryn eye's watered a little so she closed her eyes. She spent too long getting ready and with her make-up to fuck it up crying over him. She had cried enough. He stood there for what seemed like minutes, like trying to get his head on what she said. She didn't open her eyes the whole time, giving her mind some relax from his sight. A big mistake, she realized soon, when she inhaled and his smell completely overtook her nostrils. "Katheryn. I swear to God- no, not to God I swear to Anne I don't know what you're talking about" Fuck. He wouldn't joke with that. With a sigh, she picked up her phone from her backpack and showed him the last conversation they had. Luckily she listened to Poppy and didn't erase it. "To read it whenever you missed him to make you remember what an asshole he his" She said. Now it seems like a life saver. He took the phone from her hands and read the messages. Then he re-read them. And then again. He kept reading them for 10 minutes. She could swear smoke was coming from his ears by the time he was 5 minutes in. Suddenly he dropped to the bed, forgetting the phone completely, making it fall to the floor. Katheryn was going to complain but stopped abruptly when she saw him crying. In a second she was on her knees in front of him trying -and completely failing- to dry his tears. Oh, how she hated to see him cry. Even after everything she's been through those horrible years trying to get over him, seeing him cry was probably the worst thing she ever saw. "Seb? W-Why are you crying? My siren please don't-" She moved his face, trying to make him look at her. His eyes seemed lost, like he wasn't even in the same world as her. "Come on. Stop crying. Tell me what's wrong. I promise I can fix it" And there it was once again. Her need to make everyone happy. He shook his head and close his eyes, like he was seeing something in his mind.

"That night... I- I barely remember anything from-" Ignoring every thought of her mind and every piece of advice from Poppy she got up, sat by him on the bed and hugged him, reassuring him, whispering softs 'Im here, I'm here' repeatedly. He took a breath and tried to talk once again. "I-If it wasn't for Omi- I barely remember anything. We were at a party after the... I think it was the concert that made us have the tour. When we signed with that big discography, do you remember?" Kath nodded softly, not wanting to interrupt him. "We went to a party. The whole group was drinking and having fun. Even Ominis, which is rare and you know. But it was such great news we all were euphoric. And then we split. Ominis and Anne went to that alley to do who knows what, Garreth and Imelda were drinking by the bar and talking with some girls and you were at the dancefloor, enjoying the night. You looked- You looked incredible. It seemed like the whole club was looking straight at you. The lights making you shine like you were an angel. And I got up for a second to go to the bathroom, leaving my drink with Garreth and Imelda. When I came back and took a sip from my drink-" Another tear fell from his eye and before it could reach his lips she dried it, kissing him on the forehead right after it, showing him she was right beside him. "I-I think Imelda and Garreth were too focused on the girls they were talking to even notice someone spiked my drink. The moment I started to feel weird I tried to go look for you to ask you to take me to our room. Each step I took made my head grow heavier, an uncomfortable ringing in my ears and made my vision blur. So, by the time someone grabbed my arm I assumed it was you taking me to the room. The figure seemed vaguely like you and my brain wasn't working properly anymore. That's the last thing I remember. By the time I woke up, every single one of your things was gone, my head felt like a million elephants walked on top of it and no one even looked me in the eyes anymore. After that it took them months to speak to me. And they wouldn't give me even a word about how or where you where. Everytime I tried to call you it went straight to voice mail and every message I sent you wouldn't reach you so eventually I lost all hope. Even after that I always made sure all the hotels we booked had a 505 room. And that was always my room. I-" He looked at his fists, laying on his lap. "I always expected you where going to be there. Laying on your side, like you always did. With your hands between your thighs and that teasing smile I loved so much. But it was just that, a wish" His hands flattened as he gave up, if it wasn't for Kath, he'll probably had fell towards the bed. Instead, he got closer to her as she hugged him tightly. "It took them years to let me explain myself. Now I think I have the whole story. And I think I know why Anne set us up. It has been... Exactly 5 years since you left..." Katheryn didn't realize it but some way along his monologue, she has started crying. The tears making Sebastian's hair wet while he looked at his hands without any energy to move even an inch. She pulled them both towards the bed, making them both fall into it. Now, Sebastian was face-up, looking at the ceiling with his legs out of the bed while she was laying on her side, looking at him while she moved slowly to hug him with her whole body. She felt horrible. He'd been abused and she has been thinking so badly of him. "Seb..." She put a finger on his chin to make him look at her. Like she did when he started crying, it was like he forgot whatever pain was dancing in his eyes to dry her tears and kiss her forehead. "Sweetheart. I'm here, don't cry for me, please. I don't deserve it." That was it. She couldn't keep the tears anymore. She started to ugly cry while she hugged him as hard as her body let her, trying to make them be as close as possible. Minutes went by as tears ran from her eyes and they hugged each other. It was like their souls had miss each other. They needed more, to be closer, to feel each other, to know they were going to be fine and by each other's side. Finally, when they were both empty from tears, she looked at him and caressed his cheek.

"Sebastian. I am- I am so sorry. About everything. I-I swear if I knew this sooner I'll- I would have never disappeared on you I-" She shut up. Her mind a whirlwind of thoughts. If she wasn't already laying down she would have probably fell to the ground. They stood like there for a while, looking at each other, trying to drown in every little thing that changed about the other one in the years the have been apart. God how they missed each other. Her whole body screamed at her the moment he caressed her lips and looked at them, and Katheryn, weak as she has always been whenever he looked at her like that, gave in and lean in, kissing him. At first, it was a small peck. A little something to test the waters to see if they both wanted the same. The second kiss they shared that night was... Magical. There wasn't another way to describe it. Her whole body shivered the moment their lips connected a second time. This time, Sebastian was letting her know everything he was feeling at the moment. The longing, the love they both share, the way their bodies were calling each other like nothing else mattered in this world. She didn't even try to fight it as he grabbed her hips and pulled her towards him, moving her to lay on top of him. "I love you, Katheryn Highmore. I have spent too long with those words in my tongue. I won't wait a single second more. I don't want to waste a single second more not loving you freely. I'm sorry it took me this long to say it. I should've say it the moment I looked at you and my heart skipped a beat when we were-" She didn't let him finish. She kissed him again. And again. And again. Until their lips were swollen and their breaths ragged.

"Sebastian Sallow. I love you with every fiber in my being. Every breath I take is because of you. Every day I wake up I hope I can be by your side. My heart calls your name every single second of every hour. I will always come back to room 505 because I know you will be there waiting for me. I've spent the last years hoping you would come into my room and explain everything. Tell me it wasn't what it looked like. Hell I would have even rather hear you say it was a prank. Now that I know what truly happened I promise to never believe what people tell about you. I should've know you would never do that kind of thing to me but- But she was so convincing. And the next morning a lot of pictures leaked around of you, laying naked beside a girl and, and I left my mind wander instead of talking to you. Even after those messages I should've know it wasn't you-" Now it was Sebastian's turn to stop her. He covered her mouth with his hand as a small smirk started to grow on his lips. "Look, sweetheart, we could sink in the past or... Take whatever time we have left until the concert to talk and enjoy each other after all this time" And that was all they needed.

They spent the next hour and a half cuddling each other while they talked about all the things they have done all these years apart. How Sebastian gained the group's trust once again and how Kath travelled the world with Poppy tending to animals all around the globe. But everything felt right. They finally felt whole. Like they've been missing a puzzle piece and now someone handed it to them to finish the puzzle they've been ignoring on a table for years. Their bodies fitting perfectly against each other while their souls reconnected once again. They didn't even need to be naked for it. The intimacy of the darkness, the size of the room and the small bed making everything perfect for them. Before they even noticed, it was time to leave for the concert already. So, not without a fight with themselves, they got up, kissed once again and looked at each other like it was the first time they looked at each other. She smiled at him. He helped her touch up her make-up. She helped him get ready for the concert. And then they left the room hand in hand, like all those years apart never happened.
