The roar of the crowd was still deafening as Damian Priest made his way through the curtain, his body still buzzing with adrenaline and frustration. Logan Paul had pinned him, eliminating him from the Men’s Elimination Chamber match. He knew it was part of the bigger picture, a necessary step in the grander scheme of things, but that didn’t make the sting of it any less bitter. Losing never sat well with him.
He ripped the wrist tape from his hands as he stormed past the crew members, his jaw tight, his breathing heavy. He hated this feeling. He should’ve been in there longer. He should’ve done more. But before he could spiral too deep into his thoughts, he caught sight of Cathy Kelley waiting for him near the gorilla position, her arms crossed loosely over her chest, eyes immediately locking onto him.
“Hey,” she said softly, stepping closer.
His expression softened just slightly. Cathy always had that effect on him. He never quite knew how it happened, but somewhere along the way, they had gone from playful flirtation to something deeper, something neither of them had admitted to anyone else.
He exhaled sharply. “That sucked.”
She reached out, her hand resting against his forearm. “I know.”
For a moment, he let himself just look at her—her presence was comforting, grounding. Cathy was always steady, always knew what to say without pushing too hard.
“You feel like doing anything after the show?” she asked. “We could grab a late dinner somewhere.”
Damian shook his head. “Nah. Just wanna head back to the hotel.”
She gave him a small smile. “Alright. We can leave as soon as I finish my post-show segments.”
He nodded, glancing back toward the crew, then back at her. “I’ll be in the locker room.”
Cathy squeezed his arm before heading off, and Damian watched her for a second longer before making his way toward his things.
—
The drive back to the hotel was quiet at first, save for the hum of the radio. Cathy had just wrapped up her post-show duties, and now she sat beside him in his rental, her gaze flickering toward him every now and then. He had calmed down a little, but she could still sense the tension lingering beneath the surface.
“So,” she said, breaking the silence. “What do you think about Cena’s heel turn?”
Damian huffed out a short laugh, finally glancing at her. “Man, I still can’t believe they actually pulled the trigger. Never thought I’d see it.”
Cathy grinned. “It was epic. The whole place went insane.”
“I gotta admit, it was pretty damn cool,” Damian said, finally allowing himself to relax a little. “Even though my night didn’t exactly go how I wanted, at least I got to witness history.”
Cathy reached for his hand, threading her fingers through his. “You were great out there.”
He squeezed her hand briefly before returning his focus to the road.
By the time they reached the hotel, Damian had gone quiet again. Cathy noticed it immediately—his shoulders were tense, his jaw set, his mind clearly still on the match. As soon as they got into their room, he tossed his bag onto the chair and sat on the edge of the bed, running his hands over his face.
Cathy set her things down and stepped in front of him. “Hey,” she said, her voice softer now. “Talk to me.”
Damian sighed, looking up at her. “I just—I hate losing like that. I know it’s business, I know it’s all part of the plan, but still…” He trailed off, shaking his head. “It doesn’t sit right. And I hate that it had to be Logan to do it, of all people.”
Cathy moved between his legs, resting her hands on his shoulders. “I get it.”
His hands found her hips instinctively, his fingers curling around the fabric of her dress. Cathy could see it in his eyes—that need for release, for something to take his mind off everything else. And she wanted to be that for him.
She straddled his lap, her fingers sliding into his hair as she kissed him, slow at first, letting him set the pace. Damian responded immediately, his hands gripping her waist as he pulled her closer. He groaned into her mouth, and Cathy deepened the kiss, tilting her head to give him more.
His frustration melted into something else entirely as she slowly rocked against him, her hands sliding down to push his hoodie off his shoulders. He let her take control, his breathing growing heavier as she kissed along his jaw, down his neck. His grip on her tightened, his fingers pressing into her thighs as she moved against him.
Cathy pulled back just enough to look at him, her lips slightly swollen, her eyes dark with want. “Let me take care of you tonight,” she murmured.
Damian exhaled sharply, nodding.
She pushed him back onto the bed and climbed over him, peeling off her dress before working his shirt up and over his head. His hands roamed over her, mapping out familiar territory, but this time, Cathy was in control.
She ran her hands over his chest, her fingertips tracing every line and ridge of his muscles, her touch featherlight, teasing. Damian groaned, his body tensing beneath her as she rolled her hips, just enough to drive him crazy but not enough to give him what he wanted.
His hands slid up her back, fingers splaying against her skin as he let out a shaky exhale. "Cathy..."
She smirked, leaning down to press soft, lingering kisses along his collarbone, then lower, taking her time exploring him, savoring every sound he made. She could feel the way his breath hitched, the way his body reacted to her every movement. She kept the pace slow, deliberate, making sure he felt everything—the warmth of her, the softness of her touch, the intoxicating way she moved against him.
Damian's grip on her hips tightened as he fought for control, his voice rough with need. "You’re killing me."
Cathy pressed a kiss to his lips, slow and deep, her voice a whisper against his mouth. "Just relax."
He groaned again, his hands sliding down her back, fingers pressing into her skin. Cathy helped him remove his belt, jeans, and boxers before discarding her own underwear and straddling him again.
“God, you’re so beautiful,” Damian whispered in a husky voice, pulling Cathy in for a hard kiss.
Cathy responded just as hard before slowly lowering herself onto him, moaning slightly in the process. She gripped his shoulders, rolling her hips slowly, teasing both of them. Damian's hands wandered up her sides, gripping her waist, guiding her but letting her set the pace. She moved in and out of him as he matched her movements with light thrusts. His head tilted back against the pillows, a low groan rumbling from his throat.
“You feel so good,” Damian murmured, his fingers digging into her skin.
Cathy leaned down, pressing her lips to his, letting him swallow the breathy moans escaping her. Their movements became more fluid, more intense, every inch of space between them disappearing. She rocked against him harder as he traced his hands over her back, holding her as close as possible, feeling her warmth, her softness, her everything.
As they came and she gasped against his lips, he brushed a strand of hair from her face, his thumb grazing over her cheek. "I love you," he whispered, his voice barely audible, but she heard it. She felt it.
Cathy’s breath caught, her eyes meeting his. “I love you, too, Damian.”
And in that moment, nothing else mattered.
