Chapter Text
Bonggu’s eyes widened as he unconsciously covered his lips with the back of his palm. He took a step back from Noah who seemed to freeze in place, staring at Bonggu’s eyes. “I’m sorry,” Bonggu quickly apologized.
It took Noah a few seconds to recover, shaking his head. “No, it was my fault.” He tried his best not to meet Bonggu’s eyes but he couldn’t help but wonder how Bonggu looked after what happened.
From Bonggu’s ears down to his neck was flushed red, his eyes were avoiding Noah’s direction and he was trying to keep a distance from Noah as much as possible. Seeing him flustered, Noah found himself smiling, staring at Bonggu’s lips.
“Should we rest for a while?” Bonggu asked, eyes swept across the room just so he wouldn’t meet Noah’s. “We’ve been practicing for hours now.”
“Sure,” Noah replied, pressing the back of Bonggu’s neck before he walked away from Bonggu and sat on the floor.
He watched Bonggu focusing on his phone, probably checking the choreography Hamin and he did. But Bonggu usually plays with his lips whenever he was focused on something and now that it caught Noah’s attention, he was reminded of what had happened earlier.
While in the middle of practicing their part in ‘Watch Me Woo', Noah accidentally pulled Bonggu—who wasn’t stable at that time—closer to him, causing their lips to touch. It was a split second but Noah could still clearly remember how Bonggu's lips felt on his. And now finding himself brushing his tongue on his lower lip while the side of his lips tugged up into a smile.
“Are you good now, hyung?” Bonggu asked, pulling Noah out from a trance. His neck was still flushed red while his eyes kept on looking somewhere else but Noah. “Or we can call it a day if you’re tired.”
A side if Noah’s lips tugged up as he looked at Bonggu. “Last one,” Noah replied as he got up in his feet. “You look tired already so I won’t ask for more.”
They finished another run of the song smoothly. Satisfaction written all over Bonggu’s face as he gasped for air, hands resting on both sides of his waist. Noah wiped the sweat beneath his chin with the back of his hand and stared at Bonggu who has his eyes on Noah as well.
He immediately retracted his gaze, taking a few steps back before he turned on his heels and completely walked away from Noah. “I think we should head home.”
“You’re early,” Noah said as he went inside the practice room, welcomed by Bonggu who was slouched on the floor, cross-legged while his elbows rested on his knees as he played on his phone. “They’ll be late, right?”
Bonggu nodded his head with a hum. He turned off his phone and watched Noah sat cross-legged beside him. Noah moved a little closer to Bonggu and faced him. “Why?” Bonggu asked when Noah’s eyes lingered a little on him.
“Didn't get much sleep last night?” Noah asked, assessing Bonggu’s face as he noticed the faint dark circles under his eyes.
“I was busy watching a series, that’s why,” Bonggu stuttered and forced an awkward smile. “Why are you early?”
“I read their messages late and decided to just go here early,” Noah replied and tried catching Bonggu’s eyes but he kept looking elsewhere. “What about you?”
“I was already here before they sent a message.” Bonggu leaned back on his hands, sprawling his legs in front of him. “I’ll just wait for them here.”
Noah hummed. They sat in silence, eyes looking everywhere but each other. Bonggu was playing with his lips, pressing them together then a pout forming on it as he looked at his reflection from the mirror across the room while Noah fiddled with his fingers as he fell into a deep thought.
Bonggu glanced at Noah as he heard him heave a sigh before crossing the distance between them. Bonggu was startled as Noah was so close to him that he even leaned back slightly to add a little distance from Noah. “Hyung?”
It was as if Noah was pulled back to reality that he realized what he was doing and backed away a little. “Sorry,” Noah muttered and retracted his gaze.
“What’s the matter?” Bonggu asked, tilting his head, trying to catch Noah’s eyes. “Is there a problem?”
“Uh, no. You’re just being cute,” he mumbled, turning his head trying to hide his face from Bonggu. Before Bonggu could tease him, Noah added, “I wanted to kiss you.”
Bonggu let out a “Huh?” before he opened his mouth and closed it as though he wanted to say something but there were no words that left his lips as he stared at Noah who turned to face him. His eyes fell on Bonggu’s lips before Noah smiled.
“Don’t worry, I’m not going to do that,” Noah said and ruffled Bonggu’s hair.
“I won’t mind if you do,” Bonggu replied, his ears turned red. It was Noah’s turn to let out a soft “huh?” as he cupped Bonggu’s cheeks to let Bonggu face him.
“Did I hear that right?” Noah asked. “Or are my ears playing tricks on me?”
Bonggu let out an amused snort as he stretched an arm and reached the back of Noah’s head, pulling him closer as Bonggu let his lips crash onto Noah’s. He immediately pulled away after a second as if telling Noah his answer but before he could totally pull away, Noah pulled him back and kissed him again.
Noah’s breath against his skin was shaky and warm that Bonggu could only realize that he was holding his own as his eyes remained open in surprise. As Noah tilted his head, he deepened the kiss, lips moved slightly. Bonggu’s eyes fluttered shut, following Noah’s lead.
His lips moved against Noah’s hesitantly, his breath was shaky as Bonggu’s hand slid down Noah’s chest, he gripped tightly on Noah’s shirt, crumpling the fabric under his palm. Bonggu felt lightheaded, that the arm supporting his weight wobbled.
Noah seemed to sense his struggle, he deliberately wrapped an arm around Bonggu’s waist, pulling him while their lips were still connected. The arm that was supporting Bonggu earlier was already gripping tightly on the hem of Noah’s shirt as though drawing strength from it.
Bonggu was feeling dizzy, needing to breathe but the warmth from Noah’s lips made him wanting for the kiss to last longer. But just like he was, Noah had been holding his breath and pulled away, pressing his forehead against Bonggu’s as they both gasped for air. Their faces flushed, smile plastered on their slightly swollen and damp lips.
Bonggu’s mind replayed the sensation he felt, the warmth of Noah’s lips and how it skillfully moved against his. He unconsciously bit his lip, as though he was already missing the touch of Noah’s lips on his.
“Stop biting your lips, I might think you wanted more,” Noah joked. Bonggu pulled away and averted his gaze.
Noah was right but he wouldn’t admit that because with the way his heart beats in his chest right now and how lightheaded he was after the kiss, Bonggu might pass out the moment their lips touch for the second time.
“No, I’m fine now,” Bonggu replied, his voice was shaky. He moved away from Noah and got up on his feet. Noah looked up at him and chuckled.
As Bonggu went across the room, diverting his attention to what should be done before the others arrive, the door opened, Eunho and Yejun showed up. Fortunately, Bonggu’s cheeks which was as pink as his hair earlier evened out to its natural tone.
“Good morning,” Yejun greeted as he put down his stuff on the table and looked at Noah and Bonggu.
Eunho did the same while Noah and Bonggu greeted them back in unison. Hearing Noah’s voice, Bonggu’s ears turned pink that he could only breathe deeply to calm himself down. Noah was busy on his phone, looking like nothing happened before Yejun and Eunho arrived.
A few minutes later Hamin showed up and greeted them before he went straight to where Noah was sitting. He was about to sit beside Noah when he noticed something unusual.
“Hyung, why is your shirt wrinkled?” Hamin asked, getting the other’s attention and made Bonggu’s ears turned pink once again.
“Oh, this?” Noah asked, holding his shirt as though showing the wrinkle on his shirt to Hamin. “I carried a kid earlier and he gripped tightly on my shirt, afraid he might fall.”
Hamin chuckled. “That was cute.”
“Really, so cute,” Noah replied glancing at Bonggu’s reflection from the mirror. “He was nervous even he was the one who asked for it.”
