Yotha wanted to go out and find the wannabe thugs who ambushed him tonight and beat them to a pulp. But fighting is what caused his Beagle to leave their room and find shelter in Fai’s room.
He didn't hate his brother for being protective of Gun because he, like his Beagle, are the few people he wants to protect with his life, and he is glad Gun found a safe place with him after everything tonight. He just hates that he isn't Gun's go to safe place at all times.
The breathing of his new roommate Kong sleeping in the bed that doesn't belong to him sets Yotha on edge and reminds him of his temporary loss of the one person who makes him not want to fear love anymore.
“Screw this.” Yotha snaps as he throws himself off his bed and heads straight for his brother's dorm room. He doesn't knock, just walks right in. The lights are on and a small bubble of relief settles over Yotha’s heart as he looks at his Beagle’s relaxed sleeping face.
Rustling of the sheets behind him lets Yotha know his brother is awake and aware he is here, but he keeps silent and that keeps any unwarranted comments at bay as he gathers Gun in his arms.
“Yotha.” Gun says sleepy as he lazily blinks his eyes as he stares at Yotha's face trying to figure out if this is real or not.
“It's just a dream.” Yotha lies not wanting to break the stillness of the moment or cause anymore tears to form in his Beagle’s beautiful eyes.
“You were right about good dreams being a bad thing.” Gun says as he gets comfortable on the bed again.
“Why?” Yotha questions choking up a little at hearing his Beagle sounding so defeated by life. Like he had been before the two of them met.
“Because when I wake up.”
“You'll be gone.”
“And I'll be back with the Yotha I don't know anymore.”
“The Yotha that kissed P’Wa.” Gun answers his voice and lips trembling as beautiful but heartbreaking tears come out of his closed eyes one by one as he places his head in the center of the very real Yotha's chest and falls asleep.
Yotha's already tight, desperate grip on Gun’s body begins to shake as he learns that his Beagle saw what he did tonight, and that Gun isn't just hiding from him because of the fight with the thugs.
“I'm sorry.”
“I'll fix this, I swear even though I don't know how.”
“And while I fix this and forever afterwards.”
“I'm never letting you go.”
“Because I need you more than anything.” Yotha confesses with uncertainty and possessiveness as he places soft kisses on the top of Gun’s head. Hoping to pass on the feeling of safety and love back to his Beagle. That his Beagle has been giving to him all of these months.
