“Shut up asshole. When she doesn’t want to talk to you she doesn’t want to talk to you.” Nami hissed at Koza trying to protect Vivi.
“Damn it. Vivi if you don’t respond to me!” Koza grunted his teeth while Vivi ignored him. Then something went flying at her head, It was her house keys “I was trying to give you this. God damn.”
“All that bickering for nothing..” Zoro chuckled while Nami rolled her eyes.
They were all in detention. Koza, Vivi, Nami, and Zoro.
Somehow the other three Sanji, Luffy and Usopp weren’t also in detention.
Once Mr. Akainu came back everyone quieted down, it was just torture for the four of them. Nothing was allowed in the room. No pencils, gum, books, talking and napping.
5 o'clock finally came and everyone rushed out of the door. Koza walked with Vivi since they lived close, not too close though. Since Vivi lived in a fancy gated neighborhood while Koza lived in the straight ghetto.
The next day Koza went straight to his locker in the morning as usual, he grabbed his books and went to home room 5 minutes before the bell was going to ring.
Koza sat in the middle of the room, next to Sabo and that annoying Leo. Every time Koza did something Leo always had to comment, while Sabo was just so quiet and kept to himself.
Koza admired Sabo, he was cool. Even in freshman year he had some weird puppy love crush towards him, but whenever he found out Sabo was in a relationship with this girl named Koala. He decided to keep the crush to himself, which was probably a good thing because his younger brother is Luffy.
Mr. Jinbei kept ranting his opinions on the book project they had due in five weeks. Everyone wanted to leave his class already, even Koza was bored. His eyes roamed around the room, something was off. He looked again and saw this new shiny black ponytail, Koza got flustered at the sight, after class ended he tried to get a glimpse of this pretty face but failed since everyone raced out of the room.
Lunch then came so suddenly, today was like a breeze.
Vivi ate her lunch with Nami while Koza sat with his friends. He decided to ask Vivi about this mysterious person he saw in class today.
Vivi turned her head seeing Koza walk near her table.
“Hi Koza. Do you need something..?” Vivi smiled while Nami made a face. Luffy stuffed his mouth with food while Sanji and Zoro kept on bickering.
“Vivi, I have to tell you something very important.!”
“And that is..?” Sanji and Nami turned their head and narrowed their eyes looking at Koza.
“Do you know if there is a new kid here or something?”
“That’s what you had to tell me??”
“Just answer the question.. please.”
Vivi sighed, “yea, it’s some guy with a ponytail or something..” Koza then smiled
“Why do you ask, Koza..?”
“No reason..” Koza got up and went back to his table while both Nami and Sanji were surprised.
Sixth period came, it was Koza’s chemistry class. “Koza can pair with Kebi.” Mrs. Kureha stated, Koza turned his head and realized it was the new kid. He immediately got butterflies in his stomach. Kebi then walked to Koza’s table.
They worked silently until Kebi broke the silence, “so your name is Koza?” He asked while Koza was too deep in his stupid day dreams.
“Huh? Oh uh yeah, it’s Koza.” They both smiled at each other. “You seem familiar, maybe it’s just your name..”
“Boys, why don’t you get back to work? Stop your chit chat.” Mrs. Kureha said while being right behind them. They both looked at each other not trying to laugh,.
Once she walked away and they both snickered
“Well uhm, I was in this city until the 4th grade.. Did you go to Red line elementary?” That’s where Koza knew him from. Kebi was one of his childhood friends and didn’t even realize. Oh. Shit.
“Yeah I did.. I remember you now.” He chuckled nervously. They both kept on working after that.
Once the bell rang Koza immediately walked out while Vivi caught up with him. “What’s the matter??” She poked him several times. Vivi could tell whenever Koza was obviously upset.
Koza sighed, he didn’t want to talk about it. He sat on the bench near the school gate. “I hate. Hate being gay. It sucks! I never have the people I want!
Vivi tried not to smile, “don’t say that..” Vivi patted him softly, “what happened.. spill it now sista..”
“Okay so you know how I was asking about that new guy during lunch..?”
“Uh yeah? You were so awkward about it. Do you like him or something.. anyways what happened?”
“I found out he used to go to red line elementary, he’s basically my childhood friend.. I have no chance…”
Vivi laughed at Koza, “yes you do..? That doesn’t stop you from anything. You do know that right..?”
“Look.. Vivi. Every time I get a crush the same thing happens. I admire them and think about them 24/7 then out of nowhere they turn straight and have a girlfriend.”
“Koza, if you actually talk to him and not be shy.. maybe you have a chance..” She smiled
“That better work then..” They both got up walking home together. Vivi would pick on him after that
