Work Text:
Mulder sighed in frustration, taking his glasses off and tossing them on his desk, and closing the file before.
“Ready to call it a day?” Scully asked. She eyed him cautiously. Even after working together for a few weeks, he was still an unknown; a mystery to unravel; a specimen to be studied; a wildcard. Not someone who would harm her. That was never in doubt. But he possessed a chaotic quality that often left her questioning what he would do next.
“Look,” Mulder said, “I know this was a tough case.”
“That’s putting it mildly,” huffed Scully, and then turned back to the computer.
“The perpetrator eluded us time and again, and you didn’t get the evidence you were looking for.”
Scully nodded, rubbed her bruised shoulder absently.
“And you were hurt in the line of duty,” Mulder said, acknowledging her pain. He stood and took his jacket off the back of the chair, shrugging into it. “But that was good work out there. You saved a little girl and her mom. You should be proud.”
A wave rose through her body and Scully’s stomach flipped. Her vagina spasmed and her clit twitched. The room was suddenly too warm and she needed a drink of water.
Scully’s eyes shot to Mulder, who was headed toward the door. “I’m heading to lunch,” he announced, flashing her a smile. “Do you want anything?”
Shame and arousal fought for purchase in her body. Dana Scully wasn’t sure what she felt, but hungry was not even close to the top of the list. Was he aware of what he was doing?
Unable to speak, she shook her head and Mulder was out the door, leaving Scully feeling like she’d just had one of the best orgasms of her life.
