The Desert Queen and the Hylian Princess

Summary:

In the aftermath of the Calamity’s defeat, the kingdom of Hyrule has entered an era of peace not known for ages. Without the specter of doom hovering over the land, Princess Zelda has chosen to make a diplomatic visit to Gerudo town, meeting with Urbosa.

But this meeting will not end the way the Princess expects, but when it does, she may find the bond between the Gerudo and Hyrule growing deeper than ever before.

Notes:

So, this story was a bit of a nightmare to make. I had originally started this two years ago, and had intended for it to be far, FAR less arduous.

To keep a long and very frustrating story short, I approached this like a novel, wanting to write ALL of the chapters out at once and then just throw them all up. What ended up happening was it became a Sisyphean task, then I stopped writing it for a bit to write my gift story for TheFutaSmutPit, which had its own delays because of my job and real life issues.

I hope that this story is still to all of your standards, and I will NEVER try this experiment again, I’ve learned that it doesn’t work and I’m hoping that makes me projects less spread out in future.

Now, with all the preamble and bitching out of the way, I hope you all enjoy!

Chapter Text

The blazing sun beat down on the Gerudo Desert, blanketing the rolling sands and craggy passes in a merciless, stifling heat that distorted the distant trading post in a shimmering haze. It had been 6 months since Calamity Ganon had seemingly been slain for good, thanks to the efforts of the Champions of Hyrule and the Kingdom’s Princess, Zelda (As well as some time traveling Champions from a future that might have been, but that detail had been sworn to secrecy by the princess and agreed to by her Champions).

It seemed like things had finally returned to some semblance of normality, monsters were steadily vanishing, and even the much feared Yiga Clan had brokered a truce with Hyrule. The secretive former marauders had opted to remain separate from their Shiekah cousins still, vanishing to some hidden enclave, while still keeping some ties to the kingdom to act as protectors if the call ever came. It was this time of change, of healing, that led a certain young royal and her assigned guardian to this sweltering desert, home of the desert’s namesake, the mighty Gerudo warriors.

==================================

“Thank you for hosting us, Lady Urbosa, it is an honor to see you again as always.” Princess Zelda strode through Gerudo Town’s royal palace, her breaths a bit heavy as she tried to keep up with her host, Urbosa, the queen of the Gerudo.

“The honor is all mine, Princess. It has been far too long since I’ve seen you last.”

Urbosa was an imposing yet beautiful woman, blessed with piercing emerald green eyes, skin that was the hue of rich, dark caramel and a fiery main of thick red hair. Her hair reached past the small of her back, and she kept tied back in a ponytail that was clasped close to her head and in the middle. She sported the trademark Gerudo mixture of femininity and imposing features, with a nose that was prominent and pointed, while her lips were plump and stained a bright blue with lipstick. Her jawline was sharp as well, with prominent cheekbones that gave the amazonian royal a regal, aquiline look that did nothing to dull her beauty.

The blend of sharp, intimidating features that were paired with almost divine beauty did not stop with the warrior queen’s face. She stood at an imposing eight and a half feet tall, with her green heels pushing her height upwards by another 4-5 inches. Her body was almost pure, sculpted muscle, with thick, incredibly toned legs and a rock hard stomach. She also possessed powerfully built arms that flowed into broad shoulders that even the most well built male Hylians would envy, but for all of her physical power, Urbosa was undeniably feminine , equal parts amazonian soldier and sensual belly dancer.

This fact was exemplified in how her body, while muscular, still possessed beautiful curves, with prominent DD cup breasts that contrasted with a (comparatively) narrower waist. Her waist then flared out into wide, sumptuous hips and a rather nicely toned behind that was usually hidden behind her Champion’s garb, a bright blue skirt that ran diagonally down from her right hip to mid calf on her left leg. All in all, Urbosa was a knockout, a regal woman whose looks were untarnished by her warrior’s physique, like a living embodiment of the Goddess of the Desert that her people worshiped.

“I apologize Urbosa, repairing the kingdom has been a massive undertaking. Between that and the negotiations with the Yiga clan also consuming much of my time...well, I can say with certainty that this meeting, diplomatic or not, will feel like a much needed vacation.”

Urbosa chuckled and looked down at the girl, smiling softly at the younger royal. “I understand, of course. I will do everything in my power to make your stay here pleasant.”

The chieftain’s eyes roamed over her long-time charge, her mind wandering to just how much Zelda had grown up compared to the little bundle that she’d been introduced to all those years ago. Princess Zelda barely broke Five feet and 2 inches tall, with a round face and big, doe-like blue eyes that complimented her creamy complexion and flaxen blonde hair, which was tied in a simple braid to keep her hair out of her face while trekking through the sweltering heat of the desert.

Her outfit wasn’t her normal affair, eschewing her royal blue top and leggings for a custom made, Gerudo styled outfit that Urbosa had commissioned just for her. It was an elegant ensemble that was rather similar to Urbosa’s own, a backless, bright blue sleeveless top that covered the princess’ entire midriff, decorated with an intricate geometric pattern not too different from the one on her Sheikah Slate. The pattern was woven from golden thread, and the whole top was held up with a small clasp on the back of the garment’s neck, held closed with a Triforce shaped latch. The second piece of the outfit was a white skirt that hung from the princess’ waist, held up by a gold belt shaped to look like braided rope, its clasp was decorated with the three sacred stones, a ruby, emerald and sapphire. The outfit was finished off with a set of gold bracelets and fine leather sandals that were a light beige color and closed at the Princess’ ankles.

She really looked quite stunning, and Urbosa was proud of how Zelda had blossomed into a beautiful young woman. Her breasts were on the smaller side, only a B-cup, but they were plump, perky and complemented the girl’s more slender build quite nicely. The same could not be said of her lower half, however, Zelda had been blessed with her dearly departed mother’s genes, meaning her hips were what Urbosa could only call “child-bearing”. She remembered the younger woman complaining about how often her clothes had to be tailored when she’d first hit puberty, and her clothing woes hadn’t been helped by the fact that her thighs matched her hips, they were incredibly thick and soft without becoming flabby, filling out her usual leggings quite nicely and looking absolutely stunning in her current dress.

But Zelda’s most famous feature, the thing that drew the eyes of many men (and women for that matter)...was the princess’ ass. Zelda had, quite simply, the fattest ass in the entirety of Hyrule. It was two pert, jiggling globes of meat, a pair of massive cheeks that were easily half again the size a large hydromelon *apiece*. It was a testament to the quality of the royal couturier that somehow, Zelda managed to avoid bursting the seams of her pants whenever she squatted or bent over to collect some sample out in the field or a book in the castle study!

Even Urbosa, who prided herself on her level of self control and discipline, had caught herself glancing at the girl’s figure more than once, much to her eternal shame. She’d raised the girl like she was her own, especially after the passing of her mother Ira, who she’d also had a deep, passionate relationship with. She loved Zelda, she would kill or die for her in a heartbeat...but as the girl grew, as she started to look more like her mother, started to turn into a woman ...it made her feel conflicted, made her feel stirrings that she’d buried for almost 20 years.

“Lady Urbosa? Is something wrong?”

Urbosa snapped back to reality, letting out a confused grunt as she focused once again. Zelda looked puzzled, and a little concerned, her head tilted slightly as her big, blue eyes gazed up at her long-time guardian. “I...yes, I am fine Princess. I apologize, you caught my mind wandering it seems.”

Zelda smiled and giggled softly, visible relief washing over her as she started to walk again. “Hehe...it’s quite alright, if I had a rupee for every time I’ve done that I could build a tower that could reach the goddess herself.~”

Urbosa chuckled, her cheeks just a tinge darker as she matched her pace with Zelda’s. “A mind that wanders sometimes finds new possibilities in its travels…”

Zelda looked up at Urbosa again, having never heard such an expression before. “Is that a Gerudo idiom?”

Urbosa shook her head, her expression almost wistful. “No, it’s something I was told long ago by a woman I respect very, very much…”

“Who’s that Urbosa?”

The Chieftain looked at the younger woman, and for a moment she could have sworn that the long departed queen was the one looking back at her. “Your mother, she would ramble about things she found interesting, and oftentimes she would diverge onto a completely different tangent mid conversation. She was unlike any noble from your kingdom that I’d encountered before, so energetic and full of an almost childlike curiosity...when I questioned her about it, she said those words to me. Her interests led to her collecting a massive trove of knowledge that would have been lost forever in some cases. Much of your library was made with her research, and seeing you hard at work reminds me very much of her, I believe that she would be incredibly proud of how much you’ve grown.”

Urbosa felt a small lump in her throat and looked away somewhat quickly, taking a short, sharp breath to steady her emotions a bit. “I am proud of you as well…”

Zelda was silent after Urbosa had finished her story, just staring at the chieftain with a somewhat stunned look on her face.

“Princess?”

Nothing, just more staring.

“Zelda? Are you alri-”

The blonde young woman suddenly lunged forwards, wrapping her arms around Urbosa’s waist in a tight hug as a small sob escaped her lips, muffled by Urbosa’s rock hard stomach as she buried her face into the amazonian warrior’s midriff. Her slim arms were barely able to reach all the way around the towering woman’s broad frame, her middle fingers just barely touching, but she did her best.

“Ah! Z-Zelda?” Urbosa blushed at the contact, stiffening at the sudden hug. It wasn’t that she didn’t appreciate the contact, it was that she enjoyed it too much . The feeling of Zelda’s softer body pressing into hers, the girl’s breath warm against her abdomen...it sent blood rushing down , and while she knew that such a thing was largely uncontrollable, now was NOT the time for that to happen.

She gently pulled away from Zelda, kneeling down to better look the young woman in the eyes. “What’s wrong, little bird? Did I upset you?”

Zelda’s eyes were damp, her breathing a bit shaky as she sniffled and shook her head. “N-No I just…thank you. After all that we’ve had to deal with, the trouble I had with my powers, fighting the Calamity, those champions from some future that I fear might still come to pass...hearing you say that, I just...it all hit me at once.” She rubbed her eyes and laughed softly, her expression becoming bashful. “Look at me, weeping over some kind words and stress, you must think me soft.”

Urbosa shook her head, her voice firm and her gaze serious. “Never! Only a fool shuts their heart to their feelings. You’ve had to deal with so much in your short life, you deserve some happiness and relief.”

Zelda smiled and sniffled again, her arms wrapping around Urbosa’s neck in a relieved hug. “Urbosa...thank you.”

The Gerudo chief smiled and hugged Zelda back, patting the princess’ shoulder as her mind began to wander. ‘She does deserve to be happy, to feel relief...but…’ Urbosa felt a pang of heat thrum in her chest, the gentle scent of Zelda’s perfume hitting her...Silent Princess...just like Ira. ‘This desire I feel...how much of it is for her...and how much is my desire for Ira?’

The pair eventually parted from their embrace, Zelda looking far more relaxed now that she’d had a chance to vent a little bit. “I...I feel better now. Thank you again, Urbosa. Now, um, why don’t we go see the gardens? I remember that you’d planted some Silent Princess’, and I’d love to see if they were able to adapt to the climate here!~”

Urbosa just chuckled softly, her lips curling into a soft smile as she nodded and got to her feet. “That sounds lovely.”

Behind her smile, however, Urbosa’s mind was racing. She needed to talk to someone about what she was feeling, someone who cared for Zelda as much as, if not more than she did... ’I hope Link isn’t occupied…’

========Later that Day========

“So…that’s the situation. You can see why I’m so concerned, I’m sure?”

Urbosa paced anxiously, safely in her private quarters away from prying eyes and ears as she spoke, before suddenly stopping and looking at her guest, Zelda’s personal knight and bodyguard, Link.

The much smaller man was silent, just watching the towering woman walk around and speak, he wasn’t a man of many words to begin with, and in this case it seemed to be the proper course of action. But now that he was being asked…he simply nodded, saying nothing.

For the first time, Urbosa was actually frustrated by that, her nerves thoroughly rattled by her own self consciousness.

“It’s improper, she’s like a daughter to me, I’ve known her since she was born, and I’m…I’m lusting after her, lusting after the daughter of the woman I…I… ugh!

The Amazonian chieftain ran her fingers through her hair and started pacing again, utterly silent as her thoughts whirled around in her head…and Link just kept sitting there and staring at her, saying nothing!

“Link, would…please just say something for Goddess’ sake!”

The slenderly built knight stood up and looked Urbosa right in the eye, unperturbed by her snappish behavior, seemingly understanding how much this was getting to the older woman deep down.

“Urbosa, I know that you care about Zelda, and I trust you with her safety and happiness, whatever happens.”

Urbosa’s eyes widened, her face unreadable as she stared down at the knight, before her shoulders slumped, her body looking weak and exhausted.

“Her mother…Ira, I…we were…”

“You were lovers.”

It wasn’t a question, Link’s voice was soft, non-judgemental, stating it like he was just mentioning the weather.

“Yes…when Ira came to me with Zelda, I thought, I thought she was ours . She isn’t, Ira said as much, but…I’d be lying if I haven’t wished, in my most selfish and cowardly moments, that she was. I was jealous of Rhoam, he was allowed to hold Ira’s hand, to embrace her, to kiss and bed her without fear or shame…I had to make do with stolen moments in between tedious and stressful diplomatic meetings, like an oasis of beauty in a harsh desert of banality. But then…”

The powerful warrior queen caught her voice cracking, her fist clenching as she sat on her bed, Link sitting down next to her and placing a slender hand on her bicep.

“Ira was gone, and Zelda had no mother. Her father became lost, distant…I was angry at first, I hated him for keeping Ira away, for leaving Zelda alone! But then, one day, he came to me and offered condolences…and he told me a secret that he’d been hiding too…He knew. He knew about us for years …but all he wanted of me was to share memories of the woman we both loved so much, to see her through my eyes and me see her through his. Now…now my feelings…I want to bed his fucking daughter!

Urbosa punched her thigh, her expression becoming angry, disgust written across her regal face as she almost growled the words out through grit teeth.

“I’m betraying a man who already lost so much, lusting after the daughter of my greatest love, a girl who I…who I’ve loved since she was a child! Why…when did this love turn into something so wrong!?

Urbosa didn’t notice the tears leaking down her face until Link stood up, his hand gently brushing along her cheek and jawline, coming away damp as he looked at her with concern in his large sapphire eyes.

“Tch…I must look shameful, crying over a disgusting lust to the protector of the girl I’m lusting after. Some champion I am…”

Stop it. ” Link grabbed Urbosa by the shoulders, gripping the broad expanses of muscle with a shocking amount of strength for his slender frame. His expression was sharp, almost as commanding as Urbosa’s own when she was at her most fierce.

“Do you know how much older Mipha is than I am? Over 80 years, she looked like a child until she was in her 60’s. King Dorephan is 400 years old, and still considered in the later parts of his prime .”

Urbosa was silent, frozen in shock as Link spoke probably the most that she’d ever heard him, and this was definitely the most intense he’d ever been in her recollection. “W-What?”

“Mipha wants to marry me, Urbosa, she hasn’t asked yet, but I’m quiet, not oblivious. She’s known me since I was 5 . When we first met, the difference in age for us must have been almost the same as it feels for you and Zelda. Do you think that she’s a lustful, dirty or shameful woman because of that?”

“Of course not! Mipha is one of the most compassionate and moral women I’ve ever met!” Urbosa was genuinely offended at the question, the very implication that she would think such awful things about the Zora Champion making her angry.

But that was what Link wanted to hear, as he responded with a blunt, simple; “In that case, how is it that your feelings are immoral or wrong, if the difference in age between you and Zelda can’t be that much greater?”

“Link it’s not-“

The Hylian knight jabbed his finger into Urbosa’s chest, his gaze fiery as he kept pushing, not letting Urbosa cut it off, “No, it’s not exactly the same, but it’s not so different that those differences defeat my point! How is it wrong that you love Zelda, a young woman who’s old enough to make her own choices, old enough to lead her kingdom to war and risk her life !? Can you tell me that, Urbosa?”

The Gerudo Chief looked away, flustered and off balance. She hadn’t expected Link to support her like this, to try and get her to take the leap. “I…I don’t…she’s like a daughter to me, it…it’s not-“

“I was like a brother to Mipha before our relationship deepened, before Zelda offered to help set up the damn wedding!

That made Urbosa stop in her tracks, a pregnant silence filling the room as she looked back at Link, stunned into silence.

Link shook his head, “Zelda and I talked shortly after Calamity Ganon was beaten, I told her about Mipha, and how I felt the same. She is my Princess, and a dear friend, Urbosa. If I am saying that what you’re feeling is alright, if I am the one telling you to go for it, then listen to me.”

The red headed Amazon was speechless, her heart pounding in her chest as Link kept his eyes locked on hers. His expression was solid like stone, unchanging and without a hint of uncertainty.

“So I’m going to ask you again Urbosa…do you love Zelda? Love her like a woman instead of like a daughter?”

Urbosa was silent, her breath shaking slightly for a couple of minutes before finally, her blue stained lips parted, and she half whispered, half sobbed.

“I love her…I want to hold her in my arms, feel her lips on mine…to make her my Vai. But I don’t know what to do, if she’ll feel the same way, I don’t want to destroy what I have already because I want more.”

Link pulled back and sat down next to Urbosa again, his hand going back to patting the massive woman’s arm. “You’d be surprised. Zelda…well, let’s just say she’s not only interested in men, and she has a thing for powerful women. If you catch my meaning.”

The Gerudo chief looked down at Link, who simply wore a small smirk on his face. “And she’s not the only one.~”

Urbosa blushed when the knight shot her a playful wink, today was a day for learning it seemed. “That…explains why you enjoy wearing a Vai’s garb so much, and why you’re so popular with suitor classes.”

Link just laughed at that, standing up and putting a hand on his fellow Champion’s shoulder, his expression becoming more serious, if still friendly. “If you need a distraction for your guards, so they don’t go around asking where you and Zelda went, I can provide one. Do you have a place where you and she can talk?”

Urbosa was silent for a solid minute, her brows knit in concentration as she wracked her brain before standing up and nodding, a more confident grin gracing her elegantly powerful features now. “I think that I do, thank you Link…for everything.”

The blonde Hylian just chuckled good naturedly, patting Urbosa on the back. “After all that we’ve seen and fought. My friends deserve to be happy, and I’ll fight for that as hard as I fight for my kingdom. Now let’s plan this out before we spar, shall we?”

Urbosa nodded and walked into the courtyard with Link, starting to hatch their little scheme, and for the first time in a while, the Gerudo queen felt at ease with her desires. ‘Ira…I promise to love your daughter as much as I loved you…to love her as deeply as you did me…and all I can do now, is hope that she feels the same way.’
