Suddenly, Stray Kids

Chapter Text

Warning: this fic includes adult language and adult content (this means smut). This is also an omegaverse fic. If any of that is not something you want to read, do not go further. I will include warnings at the beginning of chapters as necessary, but this is adult content so read at your own risk.

People love to tell you that you can be whatever you want, do whatever you want. So Y/N chose to become a gremlin who lived off spite and a caffeine addiction.

She was already ADHD as all hell, slightly autistic, with a new hyper fixation almost weekly, a collection of random skills she was decently OK at, a list of both mental AND physical health issues that would shock most, and a caffeine addiction that would make you question how she’s even alive.

So why not just become a chaos gremlin, writing fanfiction for other nerds like herself. Because what else would she do with her time?

Go back to school? Find a better job? Get rid of the deadbeat husband who’s borderline abusive? Naaaaahhh she’d much rather stick to fictional boyfriend’s and live vicariously through fanfiction, thank you very much.

Honestly though, she had a fairly nice life. Just avoid questions about her parents, the aforementioned deadbeat husband, or her ex. The job is boring but pays well. She’s got a house, two kids that are her pride and joy, and she just so happens to enjoy writing in her free time. It’s mostly all smut and/or angst though don’t let her lie and say she can write fluff because she can’t.

After spending her day writing smut at work, she had managed to post two brand new fics before trying to figure out which one she wanted to add a new chapter to next.

Instead, before she could even make it home, she received a call from the deadbeat, telling her to hurry home because her grandma had dropped off her 4 year old with him and he couldn’t handle her by himself anymore…..it had been half an hour since she was dropped off, seriously asshole?

She spent the remainder of her time with the kiddo, making dinner and eating before bath time, then playing until her oldest got home from soccer practice. The deadbeat had been in bed by 7pm, leaving her to get both girls to bed on her own, not like that was unusual at this point. Once both girls were in bed and asleep, she finally got time to herself to write. She wrote well into the night, not bothering to look at the clock and when she finally did, it read 1 AM. She tilted her head back with a groan.

“Well, fuck me I guess. Who needs a sleep schedule anyway?”

With a sigh, she shut her laptop, heading into the dark bedroom and pulling off the dress she had been wearing, because fuck pants. Intending on going to bed butt ass naked because it’s much more comfy and she knew one of her bias’ would agree.

With the insomnia though, actual sleep still didn’t come for another good couple of hours but she was at least comfy in bed.  Eventually, she did fall asleep, getting a good few hours in before her alarm clock blared out beside her. With a groan, she turned the stupid thing off, rolling over to fall back asleep, choosing to ignore the alarm. When she turned around, she didn’t feel the cold empty bed. So why in the hell was it warm and flesh textured? It was probably one of the girls crawling into bed, since deadbeat would have been in his own if he had chosen to skip work.

Her eyes slowly opened, before widening as she shot straight up in bed, staring, unblinking, at the figure in her bed. She wasn’t sure if she was dreaming, hallucinating, or what, because what other reason could there be for her to be staring at THE Hwang Hyunjin laying in her bed beside her.

“The fuck?”

She poked at his face before grabbing his cheek between her fingers, pulling gently until his eyes cracked open, squinting one while trying to look at her with the other.

“Y/N, why are you pinching my face?”

It was at that moment that she noticed the red string tied around her pinky. “The hell?”

“Are you feeling all right?  It’s the caffeine right before bed isn’t it?” Hyunjin propped himself up on his elbow as he remained laying on his side, squinting up at her.

“Excuse you sir, I sleep just fine after caffeine, thank you very much.”

She stared at him, as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes, and right fucking there was another red string tied to his own pinky. Lifting her hand up, she could see the two were connected.

“What in the ever loving fuck? That’s it, I’m dead. There’s zero other explanations…” Trailing off, and without warning, she slapped herself across the face. “Fucking shit!” Well, that hurt, which could only mean…

Wide eyed and scrambling backwards, she fell out of bed, landing on her shoulder, which she will probably feel later, and moved to sit on her knees, staring up at the man in her bed.

“What did you do this time? I swear, Jinnie,  you cause more panic attacks than anything else.” She knew that voice, but there was no way.

“You okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” Apparently there was a way because now the fucking puppy himself, Seungmin, was just waltzing into her room like it was nothing.

She gave up on words and was reduced to garbled shrieks and moans as she bent over, placing her forehead on the carpet, hands on the back of her head, pulling on her hair to the point she damn near almost pulled it out.

“What the hell did you even do, Hyunjin? You broke her.” The two argued amongst themselves briefly as she attempted to pull herself the fuck together.

“I just need a fucking moment. Just HIM, in the bed. YOU, fucking there, why? Why? I don’t understand..”

The boys were silent for a moment as they stared at the absolute hot mess that she was, clearly going crazy there on the floor.

“Okay, well do you want to go to sleep in a different room? Is this a ‘I need caffeine’ situation since that seems to help most…issues? I don’t know, this is different from everything else we’ve dealt with so far, so what do you need, omega?”

At that word, her head shot up to stare at Seungmin. Her head bobbed continuously as she nodded, her facial expressions shifting as she attempted to make sense of this. Finally, she clasped her hands together, both index fingers up and pressed to her lips for a moment before her hands went to her lap in tight fists.

“Run that by me…one more time.”

He stared at her for a second before glancing to Hyunjin, then back to her like she was some wild animal. Eh, she probably looked the part.

“Did-did you want caffeine? I can go make tea?”

“Make it decaf.” Hyunjin whispered from the bed.

She shook her head vigorously. “No, no the last word you had there.”

“Um Omega?”

She snapped her fingers, pointing at the man who spoke. “Bingo! That’s the one! Now, why exactly are we calling me that?”

He stared at her, confusion clear on his face. “Because that’s what you are?”

Hyunjin was now sat up in bed, still groggy, but just as confused about the situation as she seem to be.

“Nope, no I am not. I am just a boring regular person. I write ABOUT omegas, but they are not an actual thing.”

“Write?” Both boys stared at her.

“Yuuup. In the stories that I write, which often include the two of you and the rest of your group. Sometimes there’s another group. But I don’t understand why you’re here, I’m my room, in my bed. I just, I need to figure out what the fuck is going on.”

There was a soft knock at the door, the unmistakable angry bird red hair visible as another popped his head in. “Hey, everything alright? What’s all the yelling for?”

Her hands covered her face as this time, instead of leaning forward into the carpet, she fell back, sprawled out on the carpet and covering her face

“What is that about?”
“We have no idea, trying to figure it out.”
“By all means, go ahead and try.”

All three men spoke as she had a mental breakdown on the floor. Suddenly, she sat up, looking between the men before her eyes landed on mother. Fucking. Christopher. Bang. Chan.

“I’m not ready to deal with you yet, sir!”

Taking a deep breath, she huffed.

“Nope, if we are going to act like this is actually happening, I am definitely going to need some caffeine because right now, that is the only thing that makes any sort of fucking sense.”

Finally, she got her ass up off the floor, still completely naked, and grabbed a blanket off the bed to wrap herself in as she moved around the men standing near the door, passing right by them.

“I’m hallucinating. That’s gotta be what it fucking is. Did I drink last night? What the hell?!”

She stopped in her tracks, spotting Felix in her kitchen, making…she didn’t even know or care what at this point. She simply pulled the blanket over her head as she squatted down on the ground with a groan.

“What the fuck is happening?”
