Chapter Text
“How the hell have you not seen Titanic dude what the fuck, it’s a classic.”
Kirishima managed to finish his sentence before tilting his second bottle of raspberry shochu back and letting the rest of it disappear down his throat.
“So? Not like I sit around and watch stupid crap all day.” Bakugou replied nonchalantly, and Kirishima gave him a wide eyed glance, accompanied by a loud gasp.
“So not manly dude, this is one of my favorites.”
Bakugou ignored his pouting expression by focusing back on the tv screen as Shinsou swiped through a few settings and options on Amazon Prime. Maybe it sounded harsh, but his friends knew him better by now. He was just being brutally honest, compared to the rest.
“I already told you I’m not into this shit. It’s like watching a documentary, but a shitty one.”
“Yeah well, Todoroki agrees with me, right?”
Bakugou glances back over the couch, watching the half white half red head slowly walk over to them, setting a coke down on the counter before sitting down on the only vacant chair in the room. “Wait what are we watching?”
Kirishima whined in defeat, catching the cocky eyeroll Bakugou shot back at him.
“Whatever, not like we have to watch it…”
“I like Titanic.” Shinsou jumps into the conversation, arm moving to rest over the back of the couch. It was almost too close to Bakugou for his own comfort, but he didn't move. It wasn’t like he couldn’t handle the proximity, he just hated the smell.
He hated most smells.
“Thank you man.” Kirishima replied as he pretended to wipe fake tears away, one hand placed over his chest dramatically.
“He just likes the fact that it’s so depressing.” Sero chimed in, rocking in his chair casually. He was texting someone, clearly preoccupied as his eyes remained glued to the device.
“I’m depressing, perfect fit huh.” Shinsou offered casually. His demeanor was so calm that it made Bakugou weary, though he was always like this.
“Well, it’s fiction. It’s not like this actually happened, and if it had the heroes would’ve swooped in to save everyone anyways dumbass.” Bakugou added into the conversation, hoping they would just get it over with for the night so he could go to bed.
“Yeah I could’ve stopped that ship with my own bare hands.” Kirishima flexed, his skin taught and shifting into sharp edges of hardened flesh.
“Alright alright quit showing off you asshole, we get it you’re hard .” Bakugou muttered. The group around him tried to hide the laughter, small and quiet snickers being heard around the room as Kirishima deadpanned him.
“Shinsou, Bakugou is bullying me again.” Kirishima whined.
“Not my problem.” Shinsou smirked, receiving another groan from the red head. Bakugou caught the edge of his eyes, and they shared a quick glance that he tore his attention from almost immediately.
“You could use your quirk on him.”
“That’s a hard fucking no!” Bakugou shot his best friend a straight up demonic glare, threatening and sharp. Then his head whipped around to give the brainwasher the same warning as he seemed to consider the idea.
“Can’t.” Shinsou replied, voice still monotone and half uninterested. “He’s got me figured out….enough to know when to shut up so I can’t at least.”
“I’ve been thinking about something.” Todoroki piped up from across the room.
“Oh here we go.” Shinsou murmured, just loud enough for Bakugou’s ears to catch it. Todoroki had a habit of asking uncanny questions when the group were together. “Have you ever thought about what being commanded must feel like?”
“Dude, alllllll the tiiiime.” Kirishima drew out, slouching against the bean bag bracing his neck. “Like is it as traumatizing as omegas say it is? I’ve never used mine on anyone. I don’t like the thought of hurting people, especially someone I care about.”
“I’ve always been told it makes them horny.” Sero added.
Shinsou spoke up again. “I think it’s a combination of things. Only used it once or twice myself.”
Sero gasped. “Shit dude no way, what was it like?”
“He can’t dumbass, he’s an alpha.” Bakugou barked back.
“I mean, I didn’t feel it no, but I can tell you they definitely weren’t hurt by it.” Shinsou spoke in a matter of fact tone, hinting at the opposite effect being true. An omega was supposed to yield to a command, their body fully submitting to the alpha’s advances when used. A lot of people misused it for that very purpose, but as of recent years crime rates finally started to drop once new public policies were implemented. Took a long time, too long, but at least the safety commission was at least trying to give a shit now.
The conversation was making him quickly uncomfortable. He usually tried to stay out of this kind of drama.
“Can we just watch the damn movie already?” Bakugou sneered, and the group paused.
“Weren’t you just saying how stupid it was?” Shinsou cocked a brow at him, and Bakugou slouched back into the couch, crossing his arms and growling. Seeing the look, the purple haired man raised his arms in surrender, sensing his growing hostility.
“You guys are just talking about...stupid shit. It's even more boring than the movie at this point.” He continued in a grumble.
“Jeez man, chill. Besides, I wanna know what it feels like to give one. How do you like...say it?” Kirishima questioned further, eyes wide and interested in Shinsou’s perspective. Bakugou started to breathe faster, the comment making him even more irritated as they ignored him instead. Maybe irritation wasn’t the right word, because truthfully, it wasn’t the reason his heart started to beat harder against his chest.
“You’ve never used a glare? Or a command?” Shinsou asked, and Kirishima quickly shook his head multiple times.
“If you’ve never done it before it might seem nerve wracking, but I promise it just comes up naturally as long as you have intention. I could tell you to kneel and it wouldn’t do anything because I don't want it to. But if I say it like-“
Bakugou snapped.
“Alright I’m over this, watch the damn movie on your own time.”
“Awww Kats, cmon we’ve barely even started to hang out for Alpha night.”
Alpha night.
It was something they did once a month, something to get their minds off of job stress, relationships….whatever it was that threatened their daily sanity. Kirishima promoted it as a chill hangout session for the bros…but alphas only. They complained that having omegas around could get…distracting. Bakugou didn’t really want to go, preferring to relax on his own, but he did it for his best friend.
Something he’d quickly realize as a mistake.
“I don’t care.” He was around the back of the couch now, sauntering off towards the stairs. He had officially lost interest in watching a movie, and no longer wanted to be forced to endure omega talk.
But as the group continued to fret, he could faintly hear Shinsou muttering something before he spoke up.
Bakugou happened to be too close, too late.
“Kneel”
He dropped.
His knees hit the floor so hard that pain shot through his thighs like streaks of lightning. The noise must’ve echoed throughout the entire house, the impact almost enough to snap a few floorboards beneath him.
Then, the room was dead quiet; a deafening silence.
Bakugou shuttered, breathing stalled as he tried miserably to force himself up again, but it was no use. Not compared to the power Shinsou now held over him, and not after the warmth growing inside his body started to make him feel woozy.
Everything slowed around him, the floor swaying like jello as a spell of vertigo hit him. He couldn’t breath, couldn’t even move his toes as he desperately fought his instincts…ones he had almost forgotten about. What had it been, a decade since he last experienced something similar? The feeling was foreign because his pride fought it, but it was also too familiar with the cruel nature of his persona.
So, he expected the worst. Like prey tied to a chain with four hungry alphas just waiting to eat him alive.
But a few seconds later he hears Kirishima and Sero cackling like hyenas. He was mortified, and confused as hell. Too much was happening all at once. His heart finally started to pump again as he felt himself shake back to life from the adrenaline.
“Turns out you were wrong, Shinsou! You can quirk him!!” Sero laughed again, the noise taunting him from back in the living room.
What? Quirk? No, this wasn’t…
“Hey if I was an omega and heard that, whew, I’d be acting the same way.” Kirishima commented in a comical tone.
“That’s not very nice, don’t you think you should release him?” Todoroki, his one saving grace in this situation unfortunately did not make a difference.
Shinsou didn’t respond, and neither did Bakugou, quick to hush himself to keep the act up as much as possible, scared that if he opened his mouth they would smell him for what he truly was. He didn’t trust his own tongue at this point anyways.
But that wasn’t the reason his body went hot and rigid, shaking with a pseudo fear that plagued only himself. Shinsou’s quirk wasn’t the reason he was frozen in place, submissive to a single word that would’ve ruined him if not for the plethora of suppressants he was on.
Because Shinsou hadn’t activated his quirk.
And Bakugou, wasn’t an alpha.
