Chapter 1: Double It And Give It To The Guy In The Purple Top Hat

Chapter Text

Bustling streets, with truly miraculous piles of shit and gore filling the alley ways, a young man walked down the road. His shoulder length locks swinging in time with his confident gait. bones of animals and teeth of who knows what- or who -intertwined and tied into the locks. His sun darkened skin shining with sweat from the beating rays of sun above. As he walked his locks knocked together, bone and teeth clicking together like a dull wind chime. He reached a hand up to hold onto his vibrant purple top hat as a particularly strong gust of wind blew past him, his locks clinking together harder than before. After affixing his hat back to its proper position on his head, he brushed lithe fingers down his pinstripe purple suit. Carefully wiping away any imaginary dust that might have landed on his already, quite frankly, dusty and worn suit. It is quite obvious these clothes have never had a chance to be washed in the endless wasteland.

“Kremy, I know you had some amazing revelation idea thing of where Gricko and Frost are. but I think we're walkin' in circles, I've had the same ugly girl wink at me at least three times!" A tall man walking closely behind Kremy gestures to a gaudy woman, face covered with makeup in an awfully dirty dress. Fluids caked on from mud to, probably, semen. Sitting on a crate labelled DILDOS. She smiles and winks at him again, hopping off the crate to walk over to the pair, knocking into an armed woman walking down the other way. A heated argument starts as they both pull out knives from the folds of their clothes, throwing insults and rude hand gestures back and forth before lunging at each other. Blood spraying as the armed woman absolutely eviscerates the poor whore. Stabbing the knife deep into her abdomen before twisting it and gutting her open like a fish. The gaudily dressed woman screams in agony as she is ripped apart. "Oh fuck..." The tall redhead grimaces, using his hand to block the view, speeding up to walk beside Kremy.

Kremy rolls his eyes, unbothered by the homicide rapidly falling away as the pair quickens their pace, "Gid, I know to you this makes no sense. But trust me, I know what I'm doing. Besides we cannot just give up. Halfa' this shit is their fault anyways. They don't get to run off scott free." Kremy spins the cane in his left hand, watching the skull embedded on top spin before he plants it into the ground and stops walking. Shifting to look Gideon in the eyes, "Besides you and I both know Gricko is 99% at fault here. If he hadn't convinced us to play that damned drinking game before dragging us all to gamble we wouldn't have this problem in the first place."

Gideon chortles, "Yeah! If it wasn't for Gricko convincin' me that a fuckin' clown was gonna pop out and rob me blind if I didn't make it big quick, none of this would have happened!"

Kremy paused, "What??"

"What!?" Gideon asks incredulously "You know I hate clowns! And clowns hate me! It's a mutually passionate hatred between sworn enemies!"

"You are absolutely ridiculous Gid." Kremy mutters as he heaves a long suffering sigh. Pulling out the letter from a couple months ago Frost had given him after the quadruplet parted ways, a letter containing the address where Gricko and Frost decided to abide. Underneath the letter was a pristine white paper, made with a quality very hard to come by in the wasteland. On the paper it read,

Dear Mister Kremy Lacroux,

This letter is in response to, the-equivalent-of-Friday, March 15th. Allegedly, you owe a Mister, Remy Garou, 100,000 bottle caps.

Please pay this dept with the utmost of urgency within the time span of 30 days.

If you fail to pay Remy Garou the owed 100,000 caps in the required amount of time, we will hunt you down the wasteland and use yourself, and anyone associated with Kremy Lacroux, internal organs as payment.

Wishing good luck your way, my good fellow

Sincerely, Remy Garou.

Kremy gripped the letter tighter for a second. Glaring at the text, hoping that if he glared hard enough he could burn a hole straight through the letter and make this blaring, awful, problem disappear. He thinks back to a week ago, when they were delivered the letter, by one of Remy's henchmen. When all he and Gid wanted was to stay the night in a motel for once.

~~~
The moon's light shines down on the pair as they walk into the first town they had seen in a couple weeks. After having been wandering the wasteland after the carnival Lacroux got shut down for reasons dumber than Gricko. Because, let's be real, it's the wasteland. Since when were rules a thing??? Some stranger wants to hop into town and act like he owns the place? So what if one of the gondolas fell and killed a family of five?? Gideon built it out of scrap metal he found lying on the ground, they were fucking dumb enough to walk under it. Kremy had a special sort of torture for the bastards that closed down his carnival when he sees them again.
After having parted ways with Gricko, Frost and Hoostie, he and Gideon had taken to wandering the wasteland. Stealing from unsuspecting travelers, offering help to poor men and women who found themselves in misfortune, then stealing from them. Or his favorite, stealing from unsuspecting wealthy travelers. Kremy considers it a rare treat, seeing as anyone carrying more than a couple thousand caps is considered rich in this hellhole. Kremy usually tries to avoid staying in any sort of motel, it makes him jittery to stay in one place for too long.
"Kremy, can we stay in a room tonight?"
Gideon's question knocked Kremy out of his thoughts, reminding himself where he was at this point in time, "Gid, you know we shouldn't." He glanced at Gideon but kept walking, having half a mind to look out for any grub or somewhat-food related establishments nearby.
"Ohhh, come on Kremy! When was the last time we even slept in a bed?!" Gideon hunched his shoulders, his face turning into that pout he knew Kremy had a hard time saying no to. "What's the worst that can happen?" Gideon grabs Kremy by the shoulder, the warmth of his bare hand seeping through the layers of Kremy's clothes.
Kremy tried to keep his mind from focusing on the lard hand resting on his shoulder, but nonetheless letting Gideon drag him towards the building piled high with metal railings and pieces of metal signs from before the fallout, cut apart and mismatched together to crudely write out "BED AND FOOD". As the pair walked closer, Gideons hand fell from Kremy's shoulder. Kremy stomped down any and all feelings of loss at that warmth going away and distracted himself with the man passed out in front of the door to the establishment. Despite it being dark outside he could clearly see the piece of metal sheathed through his abdomen. Kremy figured the shuddering breaths the guy's unconscious body was forcing in and out were his last. Kremy carefully stepped over him, making sure to not step in the blood pooling and seeping into the wood, using his cane to turn the guy over and motioned to Gid.
"Take anythin' of value" Was all Kremy said before turning and striding into the motel, letting Gid do his thing. Inside of the bed and food, there was a bustling bar and dining area, filled with degenerates of every shape and size. Kremy made a beeline to the barkeeper, pulling out two caps. "One room, two beds." He placed the caps on the table, leaning on it with an easy smile. Kremy had perfected the art of casual confidence, to remain confident in a world like this where almost nothing went your way was possibly your biggest asset.
The bartender looked at Kremy, unimpressed. "Four." Kremy couldn't help but sneer, imagining how easy it would be to beat this man to death with his cane. Watch his skull cave and brain matter splatter everywhere. He could almost hear the bastard crying for his mama already.
Kremy's hands squeezed his cane, holding back the urge to cause a scene. "Three" he sneered at the barkeep, pulling one more out of his pocket, spinning it in his hand before placing it on the table with the other two bottle caps.
The barkeeper matched Kremy's look of discontent, "Four caps. Or fuck off." He enunciated his last two words, folding his arms and holding his ground. Narrowing his eyes daring Kremy to challenge him.
Kremy held his eyes for a second, looking down at the caps and back at the bastard. "Look, chum. This is what's gonna happen alright?" He plastered his smile back on his face, none of it reaching his eyes. "I'm gonna give you one cap for one room with two beds. You with me? And you are going to take that offer." he reached down and pulled back two caps placing them in his pockets again.
The barkeeper looked at Kremy with amazement at his boldness, "Listen here, smartass, yous gonna pay the four or youse..." his voice trailed off when his eyes trailed up to somewhere above Kremy. The clanking of chains makes Kremy grin wide and feral with delight.
"What's wrong? Cat got ya tongue?" Kremy didn't have to glance back to know Gideon was there right behind him. His chains clinking together and the sharp metal glinting in the firelight of the motel. "Alright chum, one for the room and one for this." He reached over the bar and plucked up a bottle of fine liquor. He turned to Gideon, taking one step towards him. He knocked the skull of his cane against Gideon's chest. He looked up wryly at Gideon, barely a couple inches of space between them.
"Be a good boy and get the key to our room? I don't wanna look at scum anymore." When Kremy said that, he moved his cane up to right underneath Gideon's chin. He watched Gideon swallow, his adam's apple bobbing up and down deliciously. Kremy had to look away before things he didn't want to think and words he couldn't say bubbled up out of his mouth. He stepped back and made his way to the hallway to await Gideon.
--
Once Kremy finally got to start drinking the "fine" liquor(never trust what the bottle says these days) situated nicely in their(rightfully earned) motel room. Kremy gazed out the window of their room watching two poor drunk bastards brawl barehanded in the shit covered street. Arguing pointlessly with Gideon about who would win.
"Oh come on Kremy look at the guy! He's twice the bastard's size! There is absolutely no way he's losing!" Gideon gestures to the clearly stronger of the two men. "The girly lookin' one ain't standin' a chance!"
Kremy raised his eyebrow at that, "Girly? I got that same build as him, do you think I'm girly Gid?" Kremy watched in amusement as he practically saw the cogs turning in Gideon's head. Trying to understand what Kremy meant.
Gideon furrowed his brows, "You're nothing like the guy down there!" Looking back down Kremy watched as the bigger guy, indeed, was now on top of the smaller fellow. Beating him black and blue and any other color like orange. Orange reminded Kremy of Gideon. Always did. The way Gid's hair in the sun looked like fire, or his beautiful brown eyes that almost glowed when he was worked up during or after a fight. Gideon's orange was always the most beautifu- "You're not girly at all, Kremy! You're the manliest man I know! And I know a lot of manly men, you hear me?"
Kremy chuckled, not being able to keep in his amusement, "I'm just messing with ya Gid, promise." He took one last glance out the window to find the effeminate fellow laying unmoving in the street, people walking by life going as normal now that the tousle is over. "I just like pullin' ya leg, big guy" Kremy clapped Gideon on the back standing up to strip to his underclothes. Not nearly trusting the bathwater to not be radiated slop to even try to wash himself in any way. Deciding the best course of action was to go to bed as-is, Kremy's tired. And as much as he loathes to admit it, he misses sleeping in a bed at night in a four walled setting.
"You should get some rest too, Gid" Kremy said over his shoulder as he folded his pants and suit jacket over the chair he'd been sitting on next to Gideon. "Take this opportunity while we can y'know?" Kremy laid down, glancing over at Gideon when he said nothing. Gideon had the type of look he made when he wanted to say something but also really didn't want to say anything. Kremy sighed quietly, waiting patiently to see if Gideon would say what was on his mind.
Gideon must have noticed Kremy waiting when he pulled himself from his thoughts, "Don't worry about it Kremy, it's nothin' important." He got up with a sigh, bending down his hulking form and pulling his boots off with a bit of struggling. Kremy thinks it would have been easier if he sat back down and took them off but, who knows, maybe Gid is on to something. Neither men dared to get under the covers, bed bugs these days tended to grow to the size of your pinky nail. Never pleasant, especially when you leave you a little more bloody and radiated than you came.
Kremy reached over to the switch lamp in between the two beds, pausing just before switching it, looking for Gideon's eyes. "G'night Gid." He said, the familiar warmth blossoming in his chest when Gideon gazed back into his eyes, grinning.
"Sweet dreams, Kremy."
The soft click of the lamp was the last thing said between the two of them, bathing the room in darkness. Sleep comes easy for Kremy, like this.
--
Sunlight poured into the peaceful room. The sound of the city below, bustling with people yelling, arguing, and fighting. Kremy lounges on the bed smoking, enjoying the crisp morning air. Everything is nice, until it isn't. Kremy almost jumps straight off the bed, his cigarette falling from his mouth and burning his hand when he tries to catch it. "Ow fuck!" Kremy jumps off the bed letting the lit cigarette fall to the ground, grabbing his shoe, slapping the cigarette to put it out. There's someone at the door. And they seem to think their time is more important than Kremy's from how they are banging on the door. Kremy isn't a fan of a stab and dash but he might be willing to make the exception this time if this bastard doesn't stop. Grumbling death threats Kremy pulls on his suit, glancing to see if Gideon is disturbed because of course he isn't. Snoring away like nothing is happening, Kremy swears the nukes could drop again and the bastard wouldn't move a muscle.
"Gideon" Kremmy hisses at him, using his cane to hit him in the body. "Gideon wake up!" He hits him harder while trying to grapple with his belt.
"What, in the ever loving fuck is that banging?!" Gid yells, rubbing his eyes with the heels of his palms. "It was in my fuckin' dream-"
"Yes that's wonderful Gid! But would you kindly get up!" Kremy smacks him one more time before grabbing his top hat and perching it right where it belongs. Marching to the door, which was still banging, louder and louder this entire time. Taking a moment to get his persona wrapped around him like a shield, letting his easy confidence take the reins. He opens the door with a flourish and a smile, "What-a-do! I'm Kremy Lacroux! How may I-"
"Letter for Kremy Lacroux. Said it's of utmost importance, from a," it's the bartender from last night, he does not look happy to be the mail boy as he squints at the name on the letter, "From a... Remy Garou. For you." He shoves the letter into Kremy's hands and walks away grumbling something about, "the homos."
Kremy's blood runs cold the second he hears Remy's name. What could he possibly want with Kremy?! Kremy's mind races as he looks down at the envelope in his hands. It's slightly crumpled but it's a pristine white with penmanship he knew too well. Kremy handed many people letters from Mr. Garou, but he never got one from him. Anyone with a brain and two eyes would know that getting a letter from Garou is a death sentence.
A hand coming into view reminds Kremy that he's not alone. Gideon reaches around him to close the door, giving Kremy a puzzled look, "What the hell man! You look like you just saw a ghost! Or clown, whichever is the scarier of the two." Gideon puts a hand on Kremy's back leading the pain back into the room, guiding Kremy to sit at the chairs still situated in front of the window. "Alright now, are you gonna tell me what this is all about or am I gonna have to piece it together. Because you know I'm terrible at that and quite frankly, I don't think I could if I even tried."
Kremy started down at the letter in his hands, how the fuck did he even find Kremy?! This is exactly why they should never stay in a motel to begin with! How did he manage to find Kremy's location so fast? "Uhm..." Kremy cleared his throat, "this, is a letter. From Mr. Garou. Have I told you about Remy?"
"Only maybe a million and one times just about. He was your old dickbag of an employer right?" Gideon squinted at the letter draping his arm around the back of Kremy's chair, "Is that letter from him or somethin'? What's the big deal?"
Kremy blinked, "Y'know what, what is the big deal! Your right Gid, I'll- I'll just read the letter and surely nothin'- terrible, or bad'll come of it." Kremy used his long fingernails to rip open the letter, flipping it open and reading it. Every confident thought he had disappeared tragically without a trace as he read the contents inside. Kremy stares down at the paper in his hands, wondering idly how things had gone to shit so fast. Gideon not so subtly peeks over Kremy's shoulder looking down at what was written. He lets out an amazed whistle.
"Kremy, I trust your and skills at makin' money, but how in the ever loving fuck are we gonna pay a debt a' one hundred thousand caps?!"
"Gid, this is bad."
"Ya think!? I mean- one hundred thousand!? Kremy, we barely have five thousand and we've been stealing from poor bastards for like- three weeks now!" Gideon grabbs the paper out of Kremy's hand, "I mean, there's gotta be some sort of silver lining orrr..." Gideon looks at the paper from all angles, reading it again, turning the paper over to check the back.
"Wait Gid!" Kremy snatched the paper away from Gideon, looking closer at the small text written on the backside of the letter. It simply read, "Property of Remy Garou"
"I don't think that means anything, Kremy. I may not be the best reader but even I could tell that's a watermark."
Kremy scowls at Gideon, "Oh please great Gideon Coal, tell me. What other wonderful insights do you have to share?"
Gideon snorted, "Well, while we're on the topic, you got imprints of the bones in your hair on your face from when you were sleepin'."
Kremy scowls at Gidean, in a foul mood now that his fate has practically been sealed. He brings his cane up and smacks Gideon backside the head. Launching into a rant about all the possible things Gideon could fix up about his appearance when he woke up.
~~~

Neatly folding up the godforsaken letter and swiftly pushing it back into the envelope, Kremy looks around again trying to find the answer to this stupid riddle Frost gave him. Squinting down at the note, they walkied by an organ doner, For ten caps, YOUR liver can feed a family of three! Kremy reads the letter again hoping somehow, someway he'll get it. Maybe if he reads the words with different pronunciations or something. With a friendly smile and a heartfelt wink, beyond the crate of pleasures holds the answers you seek... Fuck Frost and fuck his stupid riddles and rhymes, why couldn't he just give Kremy an address.

"Kremy, can you read to me what the letter said one more time." Kremy looks up at Gideon, confused.

"Gid I've read this to you at least ten times now, and you couldn't get past the first sentence without ya eyes goin' crossed." Kremy folded his arms, looking down at the paper again, reading it for Gideon, "With a friendly smile and a heartfelt wink, beyond the crate of pleasures holds the answers you seek."

Gideon looked like he had just swallowed something radiated, "You," he coughed, "you mean somethin' like that??" he raised his hand and pointed to the spot where the dead prostitute lay. What the fuck did that whore have to do with anything.

"Gid as much as I know you think you are smart, you're not really. So unless you have somethin' of value to say, zip it." Kremy spitefully looks over to the whore one more time. She was winking and blushing at Gid, he thinks she got exactly what she deserved. He looks back at the crate she had been sitting on labeled...

Oh,

fuck.

"Gid, did you kill our clue?"

Gideon's mouth opens in shock at the accusation, "I did not! It's not my fault that I have charming good looks that make the ladies swoon! Just because she was maybe trying to get our attention and because maybe she got terribly horribly killed because of it, does not mean it's my fault!"

Kremy starts a beeline to the corpse of the whore(clue?) using his cane to flip her over. He looks back at Gideon and pokes her breast, "Gideon, be a dear and check her for clues." Kremy wonders how bored Frost and Gricko are if they are hiring sluts to be their clues.

"Kremy, does this count as a clue?" Gideon holds up a rat skull, it has a piece of twine delicately wrapped and tied around the eye socket. Connected to the twine is a piece of wrinkled yellow paper. Gideon squints down at the paper, "I think it's some kind of riddle." offering the skull to Kremy.

Taking the skull, Kremy zeros in on the small neat handwriting, a penmanship he knew well enough to be Frost's pretty handwriting. On the paper it reads, "Down the alley is what you seek, two to get in, for three is weak."

"Two to get in, for three is weak? Frost was never a good rhymer." Kremy shakes his head and tucks the skull into his pocket next to the letter, best to save it just in case. Kremy spins to look at Gideon, twirling his cane before planting it into the ground between his legs. His hands rest easily on his cane as he lets his easy smile grace his features. "Alright Gid, game plan. We'll walk down the alley, like the paper says, look for clues and any whores winking at us." Spinning back around, Kremy decidedly ignores the corpse and abundance of internal organs externally on the street. Marching off into the alley past the crate marked, DILDOS.

Walking down the alley the first thing Kremy noticed out of everything was the terrible, horrible stink. It- "Smells like shit, Kremy, are you sure Frost is here? I can imagine Gricko enjoying the aroma, but Frost?" Kremy doesn't respond to Gideon, roaming his eyes up and down the walls. He steadfastly ignores the mystery brown splattered in and around the cracks in the concrete, scanning to see any indents or otherwise out of place signs that something is a miss.

"Nothin' we ain't used to Gid, you'll survive five minutes." Stopping in front of a wooden sign, crudely carved letters gouged into the plank read, GRIMGRIN TEETH SANCTUARY OF SORTS underneath in smaller, neater carved writing it said, Permanently closed for business. and in even smaller, completely illegible carved writing, it said GRIVO WAZHEAR. "Whelp, Gid, I think we found what we're lookin' for." Kremy stalked up to the door next to where the sign was hanging, using his cane to knock on the dilapidated wood. As Kremy's cane made contact with the door it made a horrible SNAP as it slowly tilted back before it fell completely off its hinges, crashing to the floor and knocking up a massive pile of dust, blocking Kremy and Gideon's view inside the building.

Kremy took a couple startled steps back. Waving his cane in front of his face blocking his mouth and nose with his free hand, "Oh fuck, what the hell!"

"Kremy," Gideon coughed, craning his head to see if he could look farther in, "I hate to break it to you, but I think they might be dead."

Kremy rolled his eyes. Stepping forward once the dust settled enough that you could see inside the entrance of the building, "They're not dead Gid, stop assuming the worst. Maybe just..." He watched as part of the door frame collapsed, "... Preoccupied." Once Kremy was sure there were no more hazardous objects falling from the ceiling, he made his way inside. Cringing when he stepped on the door and it gave in like a wet towel beneath his feet.

"Well, if they're not dead, they want to be if this is where they live." Gideon ducks under the doorway, following close behind Kremy. Keeping a keen eye for any and all movement in this abandoned house.

"Well who knows Gid, maybe the rent is cheap." The pair walked into what seemed to be some sort of sitting room, mostly clean chairs struggling to stay upright lined neatly on the walls. A, probably once pleasant, flowery wallpaper lined the walls, partially soggy and torn with age. Gouges carved into the wall indicated that in the past there had been many scuffles, perhaps with unhappy customers, in this space. There was a hallway leading out of the room to an unknown area, it only got darker and darker with the lack of natural light in this sad soggy place. On the other side of the room there was what seemed to be a kitchen. A spacious aria with a window looking into the waiting area as well as a window looking outside, if it wasn't so covered in grime and dust, you would probably be able to look out onto the street the pair was just on.

The two glance up when they hear a loud thud from the end of the hall, Kremy hears muffled voices at the other end of the hall, adjusting the grip on his cane, he glances back at Gideon, jerking his head towards the hallway in a silent command. you first.

Nodding, Gideon makes his way down the hallway with Kremy following shortly behind. The muffled voices get louder as they approach a door, this one looking much much sturdier than the splintered rotting front door, lying broken on the ground behind them. As the pair approach the door, the voices are close enough that they can hear what whoever on the other side is saying.

"-on't worry, no one is home. I watched the bastards leave."

A higher voice, sounding nervous replied, "I-if you say so... But! I swear I heard something from the other side of the door! Maybe they forgot something and came back!"

"They did not come back! They already walked in and out at least five times before actually leaving! You're jus' paranoid."

Gideon looked back at Kremy, making eye contact silently asking what to do. Kremy thought for a second, the two voices sound nothing like Frost of Gricko, obviously here with bad intentions. Kremy debates if this run down, store? dentist??? is even worth saving in the first place. Gideon looks back at Kremy as the voices sound closer to the door, tensing for a fight.

Fuck it, it'll give Kremy something to hold over Frosts head.

Kremy nods at Gideon, pulling out a revolver from the breast of his suit, smiling when Gideon breaks out in a delighted grin, turning back to the door before charging forward and slamming into it. Breaking it off its hinges. This is where the fun begins

Bursting into the room, the first thing Kremy's eyes catch on is a bright gold hand. Attached to that hand is an arm attached in turn to a body. Kremy decides at that very moment he wants that hand. Two shaggy looking men jump as Gideon and Kremy burst through the door, they fumble for weapons but Kremy has already aimed at Mr. Golden hand. Pulling the trigger before anyone could say a word. A resounding BANG resonates through the room, Golden Hand slumps down, where his left eye used to be, now gore as brain matter and pieces of his skull paint the wall behind him. Kremy smiles ferally at his prize, turning to look at Gideon. The second intruder seemed to be faring better from the first, he managed to dodge Gideon's wild swinging maniacals, running out of range from them, as he puts what looks like a dirty old examination table between him and Gid.

The man looks sick, his face pale and sweat drips down his chin making streaks in the dirt caked on his face, his eyes, wide as saucers, look in horror at his dead friend. "Oh- oh god, Jerry!" His mouth fumbles around the words, open and closing like a fish out of water, he looks towards Kremy. "I'll kill you for what you've done. I'll kill you!!" Kremy can't help but grin wider at those words, eyes widening as he raises a short-barreled shotgun, aiming right for Kremy. Kremy is diving out of the way before he can even think, a couple buckshot pieces hit his shoulder and hair as the gun goes off. He lets out a hiss of pain when he hits the ground, adrenaline spiking when he notices the bastard already aiming at Kremy's prone form. Kremy has no time to react before a hand grabs the barrel of the gun, Gideon's hand, he pulls the shotgun up and back, forcing the man to be face to face with the barrel of his own gun.

"Say hi to ya buddy for me." Gideon says, pulling the trigger over the mans finger, watching in satisfaction as gore splatters on the ground and wall. The second the second fell limp, all of Gideon's attention ell to Kremy, a worried expression on his face. "What the hell, Kremy!? Don't fuckin' scare me like that!" Gideon gives Kremy a look mixed between anger and worry, offering him a hand.

Kremy uses his good arm to let Gideon haul Kremy to his feet, "All's well that ends well, Gid." He feels blood soak through his coat, grimacing at the feeling and the fact that it's ruining his precious clothes. scanning the room, his eyes catch on the golden hand connected to the dead man he killed, by now blood has pooled far enough for the hand to be stained in it. Kremy really hates getting his hands dirty. "Gid, be a dear and get that hand offa' that dead fellows arm, just the hand will do."

Gideon raises his brows at Kremy, "Is that why you shot so fast? Because of some fancy pants, golden hand? You don't even know if it's real!"

"But what if it is real?" Kremy smirks at Gideon, "plus, we need all the caps we can get. I'm sure I can haggle us a fair pricing in the market. After all, it seems like it's still fully functional too."

Gideon pulls out his knife and sighs, "Alright, alright. I always hated doin' this part though. You owe me!" They both know that's an empty threat.

"Whatever ya say, Gid." Kremy turns his attention to the dead man, now draped across the examination table. Soaking the, probably already blood soaked item, in ruby red blood. He notices the short-barrled shotgun laying off to the side of the table. Kremy hums in intrest as he bends down with a wince in pain, plucking the shotgun from and ground and slipping it into his bag for later. Looking back he sees Gideon hold up a sawed off, dripping, golden hand. Kremy smiles softly, too softly for the setting they're in, "You're always too good for me, Gid." He watches, maybe a little too greedily, as Gideon swallows.

"I don't think I'll even be as good as you, Kremy." The look on Gideon's face is hard to place, all Kremy knows is that familiar warmth, blooms, nestling right where his heart is. He has to look away, instead focusing on making his way back to the sitting room, where there's more natural light and some chairs he can sit on and inspect his wounds with. Kremy doesn't need to look behind him to know that Gideon is following closely. Ignoring the uncomfortable feeling of blood dripping down his arm in favor of appreciating the warmth taken hold in his chest. As he makes his way out he bends at the waist, wincing only a little, and picks up his cane, merrily walking down the hallway, towards the sitting room.

Instead of sitting immediately once he makes it to the front, instead Kremy makes a small detour to the kitchen area they had ignored on their way in.

"Kremy, what are you doing? We need to look at your shoulder." Gideon calls as he places the hand on the kitchen window. Leaning over it to get a better view of what Kremy is doing. "C'mon man, we don't want ya shoulder to get infected." Kremy glances back at Gideon and almost caves at the pout across his face.

Looking away before actually giving in, Kremy opens the cabinets and fridge, "I feel peckish, wanna see if Frost and Gricko have any food in this dump." Kremy grimaces at the lukewarmness of the refrigerator. Averting his eyes as he makes eye contact with the potatoes, it's practically a forest in there. "I don't feel peckish anymore." Kremy says resolutely.

"Oaugh! My door!!" A new voice makes both Gideon and Kremy whip around to look at the open door frame, a short, shaggy blond man stands in the doorway, a tall black and white haired man standing behind him, his mouth in a firm line. The bags that the smaller man were holding, now on the floor with their contents spilled out, cries dramatically, "Oooooooh nooooo! This is terrible!" His strange accent is a familiar and welcome sound involuntarily tugging the edges of Kremy's mouth up into a grin.

Using his good hand to spin his cane, Kremy walks out of the kitchen with a grin and a hop to his step, "What-a-do, fellas! Long time no see!"
