“You need to stop doing stupid shit like that or you'll get yourself killed! ” Severa yelled, clearly mad at the haggard state of Lucina.
“ It wasn't that serious. ” Lucina expressed, even with her disheveled hair and clothes, the clear voice a royal should have remained. “ I'm just more tired than usual.”
“Ha—ah? Are you kidding me?! Look at a mirror! You don't look any better than a street beggar right now!” baffled , her voice kept getting more acute as he continued. “I'm pretty sure you heard Robin's voice when he said to retreat!”
“And I already got reprimanded for it.” Of course, in a timeline with her father as the commander, she would get scolded for not following the orders she once was in charge of. “However, we're in no state to have the luxury to retreat. ”
“Are you dumb?! If you want to be our new strategist, go ahead and change classes, huh?!” Severa's finger pointing to Lucina's head, clearly trying to imply she was going crazy. “I am sure even Morgan would know we had no choice but to fall back!”
“Severa, I'm sure you, more than anyone, knows why I want to hurry up and—”
“Change our fate, blah, blah, shut it. I know. ” Of course Severa was also scared of the future. Of course she also wanted to hurry up and get the war finished for once and all.
But. . .
“If changing our fate means having the possibility to lose you, then I don't want it.”
“What?”
“Lucina. To us. . . Ugh, to me, you're our commander, our king, our only hope. . . ” Severa always had a strong demeanor, one that helped her be able to keep herself strong enough to fight a war, but once her true feelings came to light, the attitude of a child she once was bursted out of the depths of her heart.
“ . . .and also our friend. ”
“Severa. . . ” worried, Lucina's words now felt like one of her age, not the dignity a princess would carry with her every word, but actual concern.
“If— If we lose you too, then I—. ”
Lucina hugged Severa tightly, enough so she wouldn't be able to tremble anymore.
“ I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel like that. ”
“Stop throwing yourself into danger then, i—idiot. ”
For a moment, their thoughts had become one, and would be the strength they needed for their hard days to come.
