The Bonding
Kirk and Spock were on a routine survey mission to a Class M planet when their shuttlecraft malfunctioned and crashed on the surface. They managed to send a distress signal to the Enterprise, but it would take at least two days for the ship to reach them.
The planet was uninhabited and barren, with no signs of life or civilization. The only shelter they had was the damaged shuttlecraft, which had limited power and supplies. They decided to conserve their resources and wait for rescue.
On the first night, they were attacked by a pack of vicious creatures that resembled wolves. They fought them off with their phasers, but not before one of them bit Spock on his leg, drawing blood. Kirk bandaged the wound and checked Spock for signs of infection.
"Are you okay, Spock?" he asked, concerned.
"I am fine, Captain," Spock said, hiding his pain. "The bite is not serious. It will heal in time."
"Are you sure? You look pale."
"I assure you, I am in control of my faculties."
Kirk nodded, but he was not convinced. He knew that Spock was prone to hiding his emotions and physical discomfort. He also knew that Spock was due for his pon farr soon, the Vulcan mating cycle that drove him into a feverish state of need every seven years. He wondered if the bite had triggered it somehow.
He decided to keep an eye on Spock and hoped that the Enterprise would arrive soon.
On the second night, Kirk woke up to a strange sound. He looked around and saw Spock sitting on the floor, clutching his head and moaning softly. He rushed to his side and touched his shoulder.
"Spock? What's wrong?"
Spock looked up at him with glazed eyes. His skin was flushed and sweaty, and his breathing was ragged.
"Captain... I... I need..."
He reached for Kirk's hand and pulled it to his chest, where Kirk felt his heartbeat pounding wildly.
"Spock, you're burning up! You're in pon farr!"
"Yes... yes... I am..."
Spock's grip tightened on Kirk's hand, and he leaned closer to him... Here is a possible ending to the story:
"Spock, you need a mate. You need a Vulcan woman." Kirk said, trying to calm him down.
"No... no... I don't..." Spock said, shaking his head. "I need you, Jim. Only you."
He pressed his lips to Kirk's, kissing him with desperate passion.
Kirk was shocked, but he felt a surge of emotion in his chest....He wrapped his arms around Spock, kissing him back with equal fervor. He felt Spock's mind touch his, a gentle caress of thoughts and feelings.
"Spock... I love you..." Kirk whispered, breaking the kiss.
"I love you too, Jim. You are my t'hy'la, my friend, my lover, my soulmate." Spock said, looking into his eyes.
They held each other close, feeling their hearts beat in sync. They knew they had found their true mate, and nothing would ever separate them.
