One humid afternoon, James was covered in sweat and racing through the air looking for the snitch. In the stands, his boyfriend regulus watched in awe as his lover soared so gracefully (something he could only be on a broom) through the field.
He couldn’t help but smile any time James played even when it was against him. Regulus, slytherin seeker, had always tried his best to win against James. Usually it was a back and forth kind of deal. If James got the snitch, regulus did in the next game.
However, regulus’ favorite thing to do was watch James play. He always dreaded playing against him because of how often James would distract him.
Regulus was never able to focus when James would yell through the air at him. Pick up lines, simple questions, or even bold statements about what would happen if James won.
Everyone in the stands always assumed James was taunting him out of hate. After all, how on earth could a Slytherin love a Gryfindoor? He knew it was such a cliche. ‘Enemies to lovers’ was always regulus’s favorite trope.
All of a sudden, a loud cheer ripped Regulus out of his thoughts. James was diving so quickly towards a gleam. Regulus secretly cheered, disguised by the people around him. And then it happened.
James had caught the snitch.
Oh regulus could just kiss him. And as James soared by, regulus held out his hand. James curiously went around again to high five him. That was the most their relationship ever had been in public.

After the game had ended and everyone had left the field, regulus secretly walked into the changing rooms. James was in the shower and as he stepped out, regulus walked around the corner. James cried out, wondering who had walked in on him.
Regulus laughed. And James knew. James felt that familiar warmth and safety. “Reggie? Why are you in here?” He whispered. After all, he didn’t know who all was still outside.

James just smiled. God, the way regulus looked after a day in the sun. Speaking of regulus, he had begun to look his way down James’s chest. Slowly, he realized that James only had on a waist towel.
Regulus flushed and covered his eyes. “Sorry! Sorry, I didn’t know..” regulus trailed off as he heard footsteps. Opening his eyes, James was in front of him. Quickly, regulus kissed him. James, unknowingly dropped his towel.
