I was in the library studying for an upcoming test, when I received a call from my group chat with my friends; Jay, and Lily. Aware of my surroundings, I immediately silence my phone. I was reluctant to answer so, I let the call go to voicemail. A few seconds pass, and I hear my phone’s text tone. Not wanting to be interrupted, I flipped my phone over and resumed studying. A few hours later, my eyes started to feel heavy so, I began packing up. I then heard my phone start to vibrate and in desperation to leave, I chose to ignore it. After everything was packed up, I went to the front desk and asked the librarian if I could sign out the book I was reading. After getting the book approved and signing it out, I exited the building. I had just begun walking down the stairs when I felt a tap on my right shoulder. Side-eyeing, I turn around to see a tall handsome man wearing a black turtle neck and jeans. His long black hair is styled into a messy ponytail. Peaking out from under his bangs are his eyes. Staring into them, I can see that they are light blue. I think they could be contacts but they fit him so well. “Yes?”, I ask confused. He stared at me for what felt like forever before saying, “Sorry, I know this is sudden, but I saw you inside and just wanted to let you know that you are so beautiful. I'm sure you already knew that but I just wanted to reiterate it.” A smile present in my voice, I respond with, “Oh-Wow. Thank you so much. You’re very handsome.” We stared at each other in silence for a few moments before he said “Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Park Seonghwa. I am a college student and tattoo artist. What’s your name, if you don't mind me asking?” After taking a minute to comprehend what he said, I said, “Hello, Park Seonghwa. My name is Y/N. I am also a college student and I work part-time as a barista.” As he was about to say something, his phone began ringing. “Please hold on a moment,” he said before answering. The call lasted no longer than a few seconds before he hung up. “I have to get going but is there any way that I could get the pleasure of seeing you again? If you agree, I would like to take you out sometime.”, he says smirking. “I can give you my number. Maybe we can compare schedules and figure something out.”, I say with a small smile. We exchanged numbers and he said, “Thank you for being open to giving me a chance. See you soon.” He began walking down the stairs and when he reached the bottom, he turned around and waved me goodbye. “See you soon.”, I smile and shout down the stairs. After he was gone, I stood on the stairs in complete shock and immediately called Jay and Lily to tell them about everything that just happened. After I filled them in on everything, I began walking to my car. I couldn't stop talking about him for the duration of my drive home. “Even though it was such a short interaction, I can’t stop thinking about him. Maybe I’m moving too fast.”, I say with anxiousness present in my tone. “Girl, it's okay to feel like that. You just have a crush on him.”, Lily says certain of herself. “Yeah, I think you have a crush on him too but shid, the way you described him, I think I’d have a crush on him too,” Jay says giggling. “Yeah he’s fine as hell, but I just met him. Ain't no way I have a crush on him, I barely know him.” I say matter of factly. “Uh-oh, not you in denial, gworl. I guess you can only find out when you see him again. Speaking of seeing him again, when will you?”, Jay asks. “I’m not sure, I’ll text him tomorrow.”, I say wearily. “Oh, okay,” Jay says. After a while, silence falls over the call so we all say our goodbyes and end it. I get out of my car and enter my house. Upon entering, I became more conscious of my tiredness. Locking the door behind me, I make my way to my room. I put my new book on my bookshelf and unpacked my bag, putting everything where it belonged. I’m too tired to take a shower now so I make a mental note to take one in the morning. I took my clothes off, got on my bed, and eventually, I fell asleep.
