Work Text:

“Where did they go today, anyways?” Charlie flopped down onto the couch, next to Angel. “They, uh- they didn't say, did they?”

Charlie had been a smiling giddy mess all day, sneaking little glances at Angel. Angel himself didn't know what the fuck was up with her, but it was pretty obvious that her, or someone within the hotels general vicinity, was plotting something.

Something Angel, obviously, didn't know.

Husk and Lucifer had left at noon, saying they would be making a day trip across Pentagram City, something about having some ‘unfinished business’ in the Vees district.

Angel hadn't given it much thought, Hotel members left all the time to go do their own shit. But Charlie's attitude was currently making Angel question it.

Charlie's attitude was currently making him question his every life decision, really. The princess was going to drive him insane if she kept up this smile act any longer, she was starting to look like Alastor.

Angel sat up on the couch, looking across the room as the front doors slammed open, searching out his boyfriend. Husk and Lucifer came around the foyer and into the living room, talking quietly, Lucifer's heels clicking against the hardwood floors.

Angel gasped when he saw the disheveled state of both his own boyfriend and the King. Husk's fur was messed up, his wing feathers as well. He had some red blood on his pants and tail, as well as a little angel blood, which seemed to have come from Lucifer. Lucifer was mostly untouched, except for a small cut on his cheek and arm, as well as his hair being unkempt.

Angel quickly got up off the couch, rushing across the room. He put his hands on either side of his boyfriend's face, wiping a small drop of blood off of his heart shaped nose. “Who the hell did this?! What the fuck happned?!”

Husk shook his head, “We're fine, I promise. I will explain it all in a minute.” He paused, turning to Lucifer, “Thanks, by the way.”

Lucifer just smiled and shrugged, sitting on the arm of the couch, taking a wet cloth from Charlie to wipe off the blood that was sticking to his skin.

Charlie was still smiling, Christ on a stick. Alastor, Vaggie and Nifty were now in the room as well, all of them sitting on the various furniture they had, looking quite smug.

Husk grabbed Angel's arms, pulling him about three feet away from the others, before he dropped onto one knee. His tail was flicking back and forth, his wings fluttering a little, and his cheeks had gone red.

Angel could only hope Husk was doing what he thought he was doing.

“Angel, I've known you for nearly two years, and from moment one, you were different then anyone I had ever met.” Angel noted how Husk's voice was wavering, his hands shaking a little.

“Every moment I have spent with you, I have treasured more than anything. I love you, more than anything.” Husk pulled back one of his arms and fished around in his pockets. He pulled out a small wooden box, an “A-D” carved in the top. It looked incredibly familiar, but Angel couldn't place where from.

“Will you marry me, Anthony?”

Angel collapsed to his knees, throwing his arms around Husk. Husk wrapped his arms, and wings, around Angel in return.

“Is that a yes, then?”

Angels voice was muffled by his own tears and Husks fur, “Yes thats a yes, you fucker!” He vaguely heard their friends cheering in the background, but all he was focused on was Husk. Angel pulled him close, kissing him rather roughly, barely able to get an actual kiss in through his gasping sobs.

Husk broke them apart and stood up, pulling Angel with him. Husk reached down and picked up the wooden box, which Angel had knocked out of his hand.

“So, I did get you a ring, it's up in our room, actually. This is somethin’ much more special, i think.” He handed the box to Angel

Angel opened the small lock, and flipped open the lid. A small glowing pink orb floated there, Angel gasped.

“Sooo,” Lucifer leaned forward, smiling. “We may or may not have killed Valentino. Surprise!”

Angel's hands were shaking, he finally realized just exactly what he was holding.

“My soul. . .?”

Husk nodded, his hand falling to rest on Angel's shoulder. “We broke into the Vees tower, murdered that bastard, found your contract, and your soul. If you touch it, it should return to you.”

Angel held it with both hands, letting the box fall to the ground. The pink orb moved, phasing through his chest, disappearing in thin air.

Nothing felt different, but, at the same time, everything felt different. He was his own person again, he could feel it. No more Valentino, no more fucking porn movies, no more men other then Husk.

Speaking of Husk, Angel couldn't even catch himself before he was picking the cat up, spinning him around. Husk laughed and flapped his wings, hugging Angel tightly.

Angel had no idea when he had become so soft, so in love. He used to be a stone cold fuck boy who only moved into the hotel for free rooming, but now. . . He cared about these people, his family, more than anything. He loved Husk with all of his heart, and he always felt disgusted when he had to sleep with other men at work.

Thankfully, of course, he didn't have to do that anymore. How the hell the two of them were able to manage this was beyond him. Well, Lucifer was the King of course, but still. He couldn't believe anything that was happening.

Maybe he got too drunk, and this was all a dream? If it was, he never wanted to wake up.

He didn't know when he changed, when he became Anthony instead of Angel Dust, but he was forever happy.

Molly would be proud of him.

The rest of the day was a blurry memory of emotions, his mind stuck on one thing. He was marrying Husker, and he was so fucking excited.
