The alarm clock from the two phones rang loudly signaling the time to get up and get ready for college. Nut got up first and turned it off. Seeing Hong still deep in his sleep, Nut decided to went to the toilet first. He intended to wake Hong up after finishing his shower.
A few minutes later, Nut came out of the toilet. Exactly like he planned earlier he went to his boyfriend to wake him up so that they won't be late to reach their campus.
“Hong, wake up. It’s 7.20 already. Wake up now,” said Nut while shaking the blanket slowly that covering his boyfriend underneath it.
“Or do you intend to go a bit later today?” asks Nut.
It was Tuesday, the day where Nut’s class will begin at 8am while Hong’s class will start at 9. Their rented apartment isn’t that far too, just around 6-7 minutes’ walk to their faculty. Nevertheless, Hong always prefers to go to the campus together with Nut. Then, he will stay at the library for the time being and do some revision until it’s time for his class. It’s not surprising if Hong decided to go later than usual today as Nut himself does not get why he is always so eager on waking up early just so that they could walk to their campus together on that particular day. Not that he doesn’t appreciate it, he does. But he doesn’t want to trouble the other boy as he can use that time to get some sleep instead.
“Mmph…no..don’t want..” mumbles Hong in his sleep.
“Come again?”
“…”
“Honggg, are you going or not?”
“Hmm”
“Alright then, get some more sleep, okay?”
After several tries of waking him up which failed, Nut assumed he was still sleepy and decide to set the alarm on Hong’s phone to 8.15, hoping he’d wake up by then.
Done applying his daily skincare routine and getting fully dressed, Nut went to the one who’s still on bed to give him a goodbye kiss before leaving for his class. Just as he’s about to pushed his hair back, he was surprised to meet Hong’s skin that felt hot. He then put his hands on his forehead, and it was burning. No wonder he was covering himself with the blanket the whole time. Nut did not hesitant a bit, he put his bag down and quickly went to their kitchen. Luckily, Nut is a prepared person and always had an emergency kit and a few pills just in case something happened, like this for example. He then went back to their shared room along with a bun and a glass of water.
“Hong, wake up. You’re having a fever,”
“Hmm”
“My love, wake up please. You have to eat first before taking the pills, okay? At least eat a little bit,”
Finally, said boy woke up from his sleep, with his eyes half open. He seemed to be having a runny nose, shivering and also letting out heavy breaths, which made Nut worried about his condition. He hoped that his lover would recover as usual as soon as possible. After finishing the bread, taking the paracetamol and also mineral water fed by Nut, he went back to sleep and covered himself.
“Hello? Tui, it’s me. I’m not going to class today,”
“Yes uh something sorts of happened at home. Hong is having a fever so I’m staying to take care of him”
“He will be fine hopefully, he’s sleeping right now,”
“Yeah, okay. Thanks, bro”
After finishing his conversation on the phone with his best friend and also his classmate Tui, he grabs a face towel from their closet that had never been used and water in a small bowl to wipe Hong's body so that his hot body temperature would decrease.
While wiping out his body slowly, Nut also took this as an opportunity to adore his lover’s beautiful, innocent face while sleeping. His lips is pouty even when he sleeps, his sick boyfriend look so adorable that he just want to kiss him right there at that moment. But Nut couldn't afford to have another sick person in this house, hence he didn't do it. Hong looks so pure like this, making Nut want to protect and take care of him forever. He hopes that no one would dare to make this person in front of him cry or break his heart, or else he will hunt that person down.
[ 1.24 PM ]
Nut was working on his assignment when he feels a movement next to him. He did not bat an eye as he was too focused with the device on his lap, not until the one next to him voice out.
“Are you not going to your class today?” said the boy slowly.
“Oh, you wake up already?”
“Well, someone whom I love dearly is sick, so I don’t dare to leave him alone,”
Hong just stayed silent at that.
“Are you feeling better now?”
“…”
“Hong?”
“I’m sorry,”
Nut looked at him, confused.
“I’m sorry for being the reason you could not go to your class today. I’m such a trouble,” said the boy while looking down with his disappointed face, not having the courage to look at the person next to him.
“Hey hey, don’t say that. You’re not a trouble for me alright, and you will never be. I’m taking care of you because I want to, and as your boyfriend, it’s my duty to do so,”
“So don’t ever feel like you’re troubling me again okay?” said Nut while patting his head.
Hong nods, accepting the words his boyfriend just told him. It’s not often that he feels this way, but being sick makes him a bit more sensitive than usual today, and maybe, a bit clingy too. Thus, he changed his sleeping position and lay down his head on Nut’s lap. Nut, who understands well what his boyfriend needed that time, put away the laptop and make way for Hong to scoop in more onto his lap.
“You’re still a bit hot. Are you feeling better though?” ask Nut, caressing his hair slowly.
“Hm, still feeling cold. And hungry,”
Nut chuckles at that.
“I already cook a porridge for you earlier. You want me to reheat it?”
He nods at that.
“Alright, wait a second,”
Nut was about to get up when the Hong pulled back his hand, stopping him from whatever he about to do earlier.
“Can you stay with me for a bit?”
So sitting back and continue caressing Hong’s hair is what he did. He noticed the boy on his lap now is closing his eyes, and so he takes the cue to reheat the food he had cooked earlier, along with an ice cream because he knows how much the latter love it.
