Chapter Text

Everything was exactly where you left it.

Good Hunter was still in the Fountain Plaza. The giant Barbatos Statue still stood proudly in front of the Cathedral. And Angel's Share was still tucked away in a little corner near the wall.

The inside of the tavern betrayed its exterior, however. Inside it was... chaotic, to say the least. The members of the Adventurer's Guild were huddled away in one corner, a few of the Knights sat at the bar counter, and you and your friend group were lounging around upstairs.

"Go! Go after him!" your friend chant, and you let out a sigh.

"I really shouldn't..."

You have had a crush on Kaeya Alberich ever since you left Mondstadt. You missed him dearly, but there was only one problem: he was your ex-lover's brother.

"Don't be scared. You're quite a catch, dear." Lisa purred, and you cross your arms.

"It's not that... It's Diluc." Jean explains, and the librarian simply shrugs.

"So what? Just ignore him."

You stare at Lisa incredulously, a look of shock on your face.

"I can't ignore him - he'll get himself involved in some way anyway!" You exclaim, and you sigh.

"...fine. I'll go. But if it goes wrong, I'm blaming it on you."

You approached Kaeya, who was currently sipping on some wine. Your legs felt like lead as the floorboards creaked beneath you, and Diluc's crimson gaze watched you.

"Hey. Remember me?" You ask, and Kaeya's periwinkle eye widens.

"...[Name]?" he softly asks, and you nod. Kaeya chuckles a bit, still a tiny bit shocked. "My, you've aged well. Let's catch up over some wine, shall we?" he invites, extending a long, slender hand to you. You take a seat next to the Cavalry Captain, trying your best to ignore Diluc's cold stare. "Here, try this." Kaeya instructs, sliding a glass of Dandelion Wine toward you. You take a sip, the light taste strangely refreshing. "It's good! So, how are things?" The rest of the night went predictably, until the end. "I must say, I had quite a bit of fun tonight, [Name]." We should do this again sometime, no?" the Cavalry Captain requests. In that moment, Diluc's grip on his wine glass tightens, yet he says nothing. You take a few moments to think before responding. "Sure, that sounds nice." you reply, and Kaeya smirks. "Lovely. I'll meet you outside Good Hunter tomorrow at six." he informs, and you nod as your head fills with fantasies about the upcoming date. "[Name]? One more thing." the knight requests, and you turn around. He takes a few steps forward before whispering in your ear. "Wear something that'll be sure to dazzle me~"
