There are no coincidences

Summary:

Stuck in a heterosexual marriage by his parents for a company he is barely a part of, Jisung is slowly losing himself. His wife, aware of her husband's sexuality, hires an escort in a fleeting attempt to help him satisfy his needs.

However, his escort is kind, takes good care of him, and is allergic to the word "coincidence". When he learns Jisung has been having the same nightmares for years, he convinces him to dive into their meanings, retrace his forgotten childhood, and reflects on what life could be.

“Again,” the man yells.
Jisung shakes violently, the cold seeping in his bones. “I’m Han Jisung, please let me go, I’m Han Jisung.” The humidity makes him cough violently.
A slap sound bounces on the walls. Not convincing enough.
“Again.”
A knife runs on a wound barely healed.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Loud noises.

A brief beam of light and then the door slams shut again. Except now he’s not alone anymore.

It’s the same cold chuckle. Jisung’s blood curdles every single time the knife grazes the fragile skin of his throat.

“Again,” the voice echoes against the bare walls.

Jisung shivers violently; the blade digs in deeper.

“I said AGAIN.” The man is losing patience.

Jisung knows too well the consequences of not replying. He places his hand against the fresh wound on his upper thigh and stutters the words the man longs to hear.

“My… my name is Han Jisung.”

“Again.”
