Chapter Text
"That is not what I was doing Marinette. I just wanted-" Damian was frustrated. Marinette just wasn’t listening to him. He just wanted to keep her safe and away from anything that could hurt her.
"No Damian! You're not listening to me. I jus-" Her voice stopped, and the screeching of tires and shattering of glass filled Damians ear, followed by the sound of two girls screaming a couple of thuds and then a distorted radio. A deep sense of unease filled him as figured out what happened.
"Marinette? Marinette?? MARI?” Damian was begging for some sign of life, but there was nothing but the broken sound of Hips Don’t Lie playing from the other end.
“FUCK. PENNYWORTH! ALFRED! ALFRED!!" The phone slid from his fingers and then he was sprinting. He shoved past Tim, who had come to see what the shouting was about, vaulted over the couch, and skipped the stairs all together, leaping off the banister and landing in a roll, still screaming for Alfred.
The world spun as Marinette tried to piece together what had happened. Last she remembered she was arguing with Damian on the phone and the next she…here. Wherever here was. She couldn’t hear or see anything.
Marinette blinked and realized she hadn’t actually opened her eyes.. She pried her eyes open and immediately regretted it. The light sent sharp spikes of pain through her head, and once she managed to see anything over the blinding pain she discovered she was hanging upside down, her head inches from the roof of the car.
The next thing she noticed was blonde hair soaked in red spread under her. CHLOE! Marinette let out a cry of pain as she whipped her head around to find her friend. Black spots danced in her vision and pain shot through her skull, and she felt herself being pulled into blessed, painless darkness.
