Work Text:
In the Inn at the End of the Road, seven figures enjoy some dinner and drinks.
Seven figures help make a sleeping area in the common room, complete with snacks and drinks.
Seven figures chat amongst each other, stories of what has transpired so far and what they might have to prepare for in the near future.
Seven figures lay their heads to rest...well, five figures are now asleep. Two have made their way to one of the guest bedrooms.
Two figures that seemed to have been in some turmoil. That has now reached it's limit and burts.
It was just another fight. Another disagreement. Yet this one stung harder then the rest. With Gideon saying he regretted marrying Kremy. That there was never anything there.
Now they are in separate rooms.
Kremy crying, wishing for the warmth of the other but the words the other spoke make it impossible.
Gideon regretting what he said, knowing it was too lae
'Love to you is just a game...'
Kremy realizing that Gideon never loved him, hat that he was no different than the other pixies that Gideon was also married to.
Gideon tanding up, throwing a pillow to the wall as he silently yells into the air.
Kremy sitting up, pulling out the almaraj plush that Gideon gave him, holding it tight.
Gideon, sitting on the floor as tears trail dow his cheeks.
'All that shame and all that danger...I'm hoping that my love will keep you up tonight'
Kremy, throwing the stuffed animal to the other side of the room, standing up and walking to the window to stare at the sky.
Gideon, laying on the floor, staring at the ceiling.
'All that fear and all that pressure...I'm hoping that my love will keep you up tonight.'
It feel like the world in crumbling beneath them and there was no way to stop it.
Both wondering how to continue on from here. What about the others? There was them to think about to...
Silently, both decided to just put on a face in front of the others. Like nothing was wrong.
and hopefully the pain will pass.
Kremy looks to the wall, assuming the room Gideon was in was on the other side.
Gideon turns his head to stare at the well, wondering if Kremy was still in that room or if he had left to join the others.
Walking to the wall, Kremy reaches out to touch it, but pulls his hand back. No, he has to stop this.
Sitting up and facing towards the wall, Gideon starts to feel that little sliver of hope but dashes it, because there's nothing to hope for.
Kremy, looking over to the almaraj, goes to pick it up before laying down on the bed.
Gideon, finding the strength to pull himself up back on the bed, sighs as he once again looks at the ceiling.
'I don't want my heart to break, baby.'
Both men try hard to convince themselves to fall asleep. But it was harder than they thought.
Too many emotions.
Gideon's face as he smiles appears when Kremy closes his eyes, a hitched breath leaves his lips as he tries to find that sleep he needed so much right now. Praying to whatever gods that it would a dreamless sleep.
Gideon reaches to the side of him, finding the space empty, having been used to a certain figure always being there. He sighs and crosses his arms on his chest as he closes his eyes, hoping to just go to sleep and it would be over.
The Inn keeps moving, the world passes by. As seven figures rest, unaware of what lies ahead of them. As five rest, unaware of what had transpired between two members of their crew.
The night passes by, as the sun starts to peek over the horizon. As seven figures stir from their sleep.
Another day has come. And what does it come with? No one knows.
