Work Text:

Chay was a pacifist. Despite having been raised by Porsche 'Tae Kwondo national champion never met a problem he couldn't punch or bullshit his way out' Pachara Kittisawat, Chay really believed in talking it out. Maybe it was because that was the way his brother interacted with him, every issue they had being resolved after a long conversation and ending with a hug, but Chay really always saw violence as the last option and not the first. His steps for handling conflict were simple:
1. Talk it out
2. Run away and let hia fix it
3. Everything else
4. Violence
Despite this, he did know how to fight and he was good at it. They had been raised with a very sketchy uncle and Porsche had always been concerned for their safety so he had personally trained Chay to fight from childhood under the guise of needing a practice partner for training and so he had sparred with his brother for years. Chay remembered being five or six when his hia had given him the all important job of sparring with him to help him get better at Tae Kwondo. He'd been ever so diligent to train daily to help his big brother, learning everything he was taught and enjoying the sense of responsibility and pride he felt that he had been chosen to help his hia get better for competitions. Now at eighteen, and hopefully less susceptible to manipulation, Chay still trained regularly even if he had known for years by now that this had been just another way for Porsche to get him to do what he wanted without arguing, similar to how he made him watch those old American cartoons Popeye to get him to eat his veggies during childhood. Chay couldn't even be mad at his brother for this, he was the best parent ever, even if the six year difference meant that Porsche had to get creative with raising him.
It was also beneficial because Chay had realised that sometimes fighting was the only option. Thanks to their mother, and in some ways Porsche's unwillingness to just run away, they were part of Thailand's most powerful mafia family so knowing how to throw a punch was an extremely useful skill. Granted Chay never expected that he'd be using it on his ex-boyfriend's new boytoy. At least, except for his brother and maybe Kim the ex-boyfriend in question, no one would believe the other man that Chay, the embodiment of pacific nature, would ever hit someone; and how the heck had he ended up acting like Porsche anyway.
As Chay stepped over the downed man, he decided that despite his conflict resolution steps being out of order, it was now time to flee, and so he headed for the one place his hia would find him but no one would think to look for him, his brother in law Kinn's study. After ignoring the bodyguards from both families stationed outside, Chay gingerly knocked on the door and quickly entered once Kinn called out. His hia was in the room along with Kinn and Vegas but Chay headed for Kinn since he had the ultimate power to kick him out, not that Chay was too worried as he and Kinn had talked things out and were good.
"Hi hia and P'Vegas. Hi P'Kinn, can I hide out in your study for a bit?" He asked breathlessly, maybe hia had a point when he said that Chay needed more exercise.
"Sure kid, is everything alright though?" Kinn asked.
Porsche had been watching his brother carefully since he entered but then relaxed as he spoke, Chay was in his hiding to avoid conflict mode. More than likely Kim was there, possibly even with his new boyfriend who looked, as Tankhun had said, like a discount version of Chay but with none of his brother's spark.
"Yeah, I may have hit someone but anyway thanks. I'll be in the library if you order food but I'm not here otherwise. OK bye."
With that Chay almost sprinted out the room and into one of the connecting rooms in Kinn's study.
All three men looked in shock at the retreating form of the youngest member of the family before Vegas spoke.
"Fifty thousand baht he hit Kim. Any takers?" If Vegas had known how much he'd enjoy spending time with his cousins he'd have arranged a hit on his father and uncle years ago.
"Who else could it be? Macau's out with Pete and no one is brave enough to hit Tankhun. It can't be a bodyguard or one of the staff." Kinn replied.
Porsche sat back and texted Arm to find out if Kim was there, once a reply returned in the affirmative that he was there with his boyfriend, he spoke.
"I'll take the odds Vegas. I think he hit Kim's boyfriend. Kim wouldn't have let him go if he was that close to him plus Kim is with Tankhun and Khun would have said something by now if Chay had hit him."
"You really think Kim, who's so in love with your brother he's dating a knock off version of him, would stop Chay from hitting him. No offense, but Kim is kinda pathetic, besides wouldn't his boyfriend be by Khun too?" Vegas asked.
"Nah Khun doesn't like him so he has to wait either in the lounge or in Kim's old room if Kim is here to see Khun. I mean you could just ask Chay or have Arm check the cameras." Kinn replied before refocusing on the report in front of him as his boyfriend and cousin began speculating on just who the youngest member of their family hit.

By the time Kim was finished being harassed by his eldest brother and had set out to find Kinn, Vegas and Porsche had managed to completely frustrate Kinn to the point that he was ready to kick them both out but alas someone had to be the responsible adult in the room and do work that would make the family money. When Kim knocked and entered the room, it was to Porsche and Vegas arguing, something which stopped as soon as he closed the door behind him drawing their attention to him. To his great surprise, Vegas pulled out a wad of cash and passed to Porsche before he sat back and began pouting, something that was so shocking that he almost missed his brother taking a photo of it.
"Um, I kinda don't want to know but what happened." Kim asked, wondering when his toxic ass mafia family turned into whatever knockoff reality show he was on. First Khun had spent an entire hour talking in parables, now this. His father and uncle would have never allowed this level of childish relaxation. It made Kim want to move back home immediately.
"Chay didn't hit you. I thought it was you. You owe me 50,000 baht cuz." Vegas pouted. Kim really couldn't get past Vegas Theerapanyakun, the most fearsome torturer in all of Thailand, pouting on his older brother's couch like a child.
"Kim," Kinn ignored his pouting cousin and his boyfriend who was bragging to focus on his younger brother. "Did you need something?"
"Forget that Kimmy. How hard did my brother hit your boytoy?"
"Why would Chay hit Todd?" Kim asked ignoring Kinn to focus on the issue at hand.
"Well he hit someone and our best guesses were you or your boyfriend." Replied Vegas from where he was leaning against Porsche who had stopped bragging and was now fanning him with his winnings.
"I mean technically it could be a bodyguard or member of staff but that's unlikely." Interjected Kinn who began putting his reports away, sensing that no work would get done until this was resolved.
"They wouldn't dare do anything to him, not unless they wanted to die." Kim replied venomously.
Vegas and Porsche exchanged glances then both looked to Kinn who only sighed before pulling out his phone to call Arm to pull the footage. He already knew with Arm would come Khun, at least Pete and Macau were out so he wasn't stuck hosting an impromptu family reunion when he should be working.
In the time it took to call Arm and get a confirmation from him, Vegas and Porsche had caught Kim up on what they knew, which was nothing and Kim had asked several times about where Chay was and if he was ok but not once had he asked about Tom or whatever his boyfriend de jour's name was.
Before Kinn could derail the conversation with this helpful observation, Tankhun strutted into his office, without knocking, an apologetic Arm following behind.
"I found the video and queued it up Khun Kinn but unfortunately that hallway hasn't been swapped to the new system so there's no audio. The video quality is good but I could only get a word or two reading lips because of their placement." Arm said nervously before putting the video up on Kinn's large monitor and stepping back as the other men in the room watched Chay stroll down the hall on his phone and not paying attention before bumping into Todd who had been walking up the hall, sans escort, presumably heading for Kim's room. Arm made a mental note to have that corrected going forward, all guests required an escort at all times.
The men watched the video twice and noted that Todd had said something heated to Chay who had responded in kind. The two men had exchanged words for a minute or two before Chay hauled back and punched him out, sending him sprawling out on the ground before Chay continued down the corridor not sparing a backwards glance for the passed out man.
"Dang, who knew baby Chay had it in him." Said Tankhun looking impressed. Vegas and Kinn had similar looks while Porsche looked proud. Kim was impassive.
"I did. He's my baby brother, of course he knows how to fight." Porsche replied making space on the couch for Tankhun who had headed over to sit next to him.
"I'll go check on Todd, he's still in the corridor." Arm stated before leaving the room.
"Who's Todd?" Asked Khun loudly before leaning over Porsche to prod at Vegas.
"Kim's latest toy." Vegas replied as he moved away from his cousin's pokes.
"Hmmm, I though he was Tim. Either way, I don't like him." Said Khun imperiously.
"Is Chay ok?" Kim asked again and Kinn seeing his chance took it.
"You keep asking about Chay but not about your boyfriend. You do know you're supposed to be concerned about the person you're with right."
"To be fair, Kinn." Said Vegas oozing fake concern. "His boyfriend is a clone of Chay so it's only fair that he worries about the original."
"He's not a clone of Chay and Arm is checking on him. Can't I be concerned for a member of the family?" Kim had changed his mind. His family sucked and he would be leaving as soon as he was assured that Chay was ok.
"Kim's right. Tim is a backstreet knockoff of Chay and not nearly on clone level. Who by the way is fine. Though now I want to know what your boy said to my brother." Porsche dictated, getting nods of agreement from the other men who also wanted to know what was said.
"Kinn go ask our baby cousin. You and I will ask your boyfriend, Kim." Vegas said before getting up and ushering Kim forcefully out of the room.
Kinn sighed again. All he wanted was to complete his reports in peace but no he had to deal with his family. He was starting to think his father kept everyone fighting each other just so he could have peace from the insanity that was Theerapanyakuns getting along.
