Work Text:
Crowley wasn’t quite sure where to go.
The Metatron had left Aziraphales bookshop to Muriel so that was out. His apartment was probably still out.
He decided to just keep driving and see where the Bentley takes him. He drove in silence. He never does that.
Everything reminded him of his Angel. The Bentley, the songs it could play, London, England, Earth. Everything.
Crowley wasn’t paying any attention at all, zo he failed to notice that the Bentley was running out of gas soon. He was in the middle of nowhere.
The Bentley had started driving the last route it had driven, to Edinburgh. To the graveyard.
It broke down not far from the resurrectionists pub. Which is where he stayed for hours on end drinking whiskey after whiskey. Trying to forget about Aziraphale. At least for a while.
Crowley stayed in Edinburgh for a few years. He wasn’t sure he could cope with going back to London. Back to where he lost his best friend. No. His lover. Back to where he lost the person he’d loved for the last 6000 years. Back to where he lost him forever.
In all those years Crowley stayed in Edinburgh, he hadn’t heard from Aziraphale. not even a note, telling him that he was alright. Nothing.
He hadn’t heard from hell either, but that made sense seeing as how Shax was probably in charge there now. Crowley would be surprised is the dimension still existed (which it did).
One night, Crowley was sitting in his Bentley which he drove up the mountains. He liked it there. it was his place to escape everything.
He felt something. something holy.
‘’Aziraphale?’’
‘’not quite.’’
’’Oh. Michael.’’
‘’Did you really think he’d come back for you Crowley?’’
Crowley didn’t respond. He couldn’t.
’’He’s the supreme Archangel now Crowley. He hasn’t got any time for fraternising with a demon.’’
‘’What are you doing here Michael?’’
’’I’ve come to properly remove you from heaven.’’
Crowley raised his left eyebrow.
’’what, you didn’t push me hard enough the first time?’’
‘’When you fell, we didn’t think it possible for you, or Lucifer, ever to return. And now we know that it is, we’re making it a little harder for you.’’
Crowley looked expectant and worried at the Archangel.
‘’It’s a bit hard for you to get up to heaven without wings now is it.’’
Crowley’s eyes widened. although you couldn’t see it under the dark sunglasses.
‘’And, your superior approved this than?’’
’’this is an order I got directly from the almighty. Your Boyfriend Aziraphale had nothing to do with this. He doesn’t even know I’m here.’’
……..
‘’And how are you planning on taking my wings from me than? correct me if I’m wrong but you can’t just rip them out and I don’t see you carrying a saw. And do you expect me to just let it happen? you think I’m not going to resist you?’’
‘’of course I don’t expect you to just let it happen. that’s why I brought them.’’
Four demons rose up from the earth behind Crowley and tackled him to the ground. with his back facing the sky.
‘’ghm. Well, as long as I’m not using my wings, there’s no way for you to do anything is there Michael?’’
Michael kneeled down beside Crowley. ‘’There is something I can do.’’
‘’do you know what a pressure point is Crowley? It’s when you put pressure on a certain part of the body to make certain muscles involuntarily react.’’
’’So if I just press my fingers right here between your shoulder blades, we should start to see some wings!’’
Crowley tried to move away from Michael but the four demons were too strong for Crowley to move even an inch.
Michael didn’t even have to use that much strength and Crowley's black wings shot out of his back.
‘’oh and, you were wrong traitor.’’
’’about what?’’
’’you can actually just rip the wings straight off. It does hurt though.’’
A hellish scream could be heard all over Scotland as Michael started ripping the demons wings off of him. the screams could even be heard in heaven.
------------------------------
‘’Crowley!?’’
-----------------------------
‘’MICHAEL!’’
’’You leave him alone RIGHT NOW.’’
Michael dropped both Crowley’s severed wings beside him.
’’I’ll had a word with you later. Get out of my sight.’’
The four demons that were holding Crowley down quickly disappeared back into the ground. back down to hell.
Crowley was still screaming. He had just gone through the most unimaginable pain. His body was spasming even though he was losing blood quickly.
‘’Oh dear heavens Crowley I am SO sorry this has happened to you. I never meant for something like this to ha-... I-… This is all my fault.’’
’’Here, let me help you.’’
’’Don’t Angel’’ Crowley managed to say in between the screaming. ‘’you’ll get blood on your coat. you love that coat.’’
’’I can miracle it away. I’ll be okay. It’s my job to make sure that you will be too.’’
Crowley tried to get up but he was too weak.
Aziraphale helped him up and flew him home. To the Bookshop.
‘’hold on Dear, please don’t close your eyes.’’
Aziraphale carried Crowley into the bookshop and laid him on the couch.
’’Oh dear heavens, what happened to him?” Muriel gasped.
’’Michael happened.’’
’’M- Michael? Y-you didn’t…’’
’’NO, I didn’t know.’’
‘’Crowley?’’
’’Ngk’’
’’This is going to hurt.’’
‘’alright than, here we go.’’
Aziraphale takes Crowley's hand and closes his eyes. The Bookshop is filled with the brightest light you could imagine. As the light started to dim you could start to hear Crowley try to keep his screaming down. when the light was completely gone, Crowley was lying on the couch squeezing Aziraphales hand, frozen in pain.
‘’Oh Dear, Crowley. I’m so sorry.’’
’’Angel.’’
’’Yes?’’
’’I forgive you.’’
Crowley couldn’t hear Aziraphale start to tear up as he passed out immediately after he had said that.
The angel looked at him with so much guilt and sadness in his eyes.
But in the end, they were going to be alright.
