"So Luke.... You're sure you don't crush on Heat?", Kimberly asks Luke while they went home after a long Arcade battle through literally the entire lineup of games, caused by the blonde, who could only blush.
"I'm 100% sure Kim.", he answers, "I mean, isn't like she's one hell of a fighter as well as an badass performer. Plus she knows a lot about gaming and other things, so there's that..."
He didn't added the fact that she was probably the most perfect girl in his eyes. Sure, she can be hotheaded, one hell of an perfectionist and would probably pull all-nighters left and right just to get her songs to be perfect, but she's still passionate in what she's doing, whether be it gaming, music, dancing or fighting. And that's what makes her perfect in Luke's eyes.
"Hm, I'm not reaaaaally convinced, Luke", the Kunoichi grins, "I mean, she saved Bosch and who knows who else from JP and managed to defeat him, I know you're head over heels for her!"
"Hey! That's just being grateful!", Luke countered, "And why do you bring the situation in Nayshall into this?"
To be fair, Luke told Kimberly about what he knew from Heat after she and Bosch arrived safely in Metro City, from the sketchy tournament she entered via a favour from Thrasher, her run in with the resistance and JP as well as the subsequent fight of her against the Psycho Powered gentleman after an failed assassination attempt from the resistance involving a rigged champion belt and Bosch.
Luckily for probably everyone back there, Heat had the right tools to not just only save Bosch from the explosion, she fought vigorously against her opponent with her own power that she seemingly has lived her entire life with, even if it was a close fight.
So yeah... Luke was definitely infactuated with the singer through a lot of her acts of selflessness and fighting for what she sees as right. Not that she's not looking like a badass tho, that's probably a given as a performer, he really can't deny that.
The two took a quick route through Chinatown, as both their apartments were close by, as battle noises ripped the nightly peace away.
Both Luke and Kimberly were quick to dismiss these noises as someone fighting some grunts of local gangs, if not for the almost inhumane growls and screams, followed by a female voice, and without even thinking they quickly checked out what happens as they hid behind a bunch of crates stacked in the entryway of the alley the noises originate from.
A young woman stood in front of what the duo thinks are Psycho Power enhanced enemies, wielding a gigantic hammer made out of speakers, held together by metal and rubber bands, which are wired into an handy control panel in the handle, it's icy blue and orange colors almost glowing in the more misty evening light.
"This looks like a freaking video game!", Luke was definitely right, the enemies looked more monster like then anything, while a purplish glow came from various body parts, mainly their eyes, almost staring her down.
Suddenly, one of the monsters decided to jump at the woman, but her reaction was quicker and the speaker collided with it, sending it into the ranks of the ones still standing.
The black coat with red lining flew in the impact wind like gigantic wings, the silver buttons reflecting the purple glow of the monsters perfectly to make the lining even more stand out, almost as it's glowing on it's own.
"Nice try idiot", her voice was familiar to both Luke and Kimberly, "But I shouldn't expect bigger things to come out of you.", she quips and the fight was on.
The monsters started to swarm her, but the girl's quick movement and her almost dancing through the enemy attacks while using her weapon to it's most effective, was something neither of them could look away from.
Both of them got reminded on multiple popular character action games with how the girl weaved through the attacks and answering with her own.
And while the fight continued, something hit the blonde MMA fighter.
"Huh?", his eyes immediately darted to whatever hit him, which was a small icy blue crystal shaped like a rhombus. Not even a second was needed as he realized who was fighting the monsters. There was only one fighter he knew fought with these little crystals as weapons.
"Heat!?", he almost immediately yelled out.
The girl hasn't heard Luke calling her name out and as for the monsters, Heat was causing way more noise and distraction for them to not notice.
