"What can I do for you, James?" Lena asked as she lent back in her chair. He was standing across from her and it's only been a month since they've separated. He's wearing an expensive suit, Armani, from the looks of it. Probably to impress her. But Lena's not impressed, not at all.
And the smelly cologne is starting to give her a headache.
"I want you to take me back." He says this with this infuriating smug smile, as if she will jump on him like a lap dog. As if he's the greatest gift to mankind.
As if she's not already in love with someone else.
"Well, you're not going to get your wish, because I'm already involved with someone. Romantically. It was a long time coming and the only reason I was with you is because I couldn't be with this other person, but now that we are together..." She left the rest of the sentence unsaid.
"What does he have that I don't?" He frowns as if there's no one better for her to date besides him.
"First." Lena put up her pointer finger. "They're a she. And she can give me happiness. Something that you were...sorely lacking." She gives him a fake smile. Not that he's smart enough to tell the difference apart, he's never been able to. Even when they were dating.
"What? Since when are you gay?" He had the most dumbest look on his face and Lena wanted to burst out laughing, she wished she could send Kara a picture.
She would probably want to print it out and stick it on her fridge and laugh at it whenever she had the chance.
"There's a thing called bisexual. And that I am." Lena guesses he was one of those bigoted, bi-erasure people.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He demanded. "You could have saved me the trouble of dating you in the first place." He sneered and turned tail out of Lena's office, slamming the door. Making Lena flinch in the process.
No matter who it was, someone who didn't matter to you or someone who mattered the most, being abandoned because of your sexuality hurt.
She needed Kara. She sent her girlfriend a text.
Contact: My Hero, text sent 7:43 pm: I need you. Do you have a moment to spare?
A text shot through the next minute, something about her girlfriend, she always texted back right away.
Contact: Babe, text sent 7:44 pm: For my girl? Always! I just helpd the fire department put out a fire, so I may smell of smoke. Was on Supergirl duty. Don't be alarmed! :D
Lena smiled at the little typo and the smiley emoticon that Kara always managed to sneak in their private messages.
Contact: My Hero, text sent 7:45 pm: Are you texting and flying again?? ;./
Lena heard a woosh and Kara strolled in as Kara Danvers. A chipper smile on her face, showing all her pearly whites.
"I was not texting and flying, babe." She pouted and walked around Lena's desk and sat her ass down on the edge of Lena's pearly white desk.
She was wearing her usual brown slacks and loafers with a blue button down covered red in polka dots. A nod to her Supergirl colors.
Kara took in Lena's pretty face. It had a frown on it, that downward tilt of her lips should never cross that face.
"What's wrong, who do I need to beat up?" She proceeded to flex her arms showing off her bulging biceps and Lena felt her cheeks heat up. She wasn't Supergirl for nothing.
Lena sobered and laughed bitterly. "James." She ran her hands through her hair, mussing it a little.
Kara's face darkened at the mention of Lena's ex. "What did he do? Do you want me to throw him into space? Cause I can do that. If you want, perks of having Supergirl as a girlfriend. I can throttle whoever you need me to." She rambled and leaned down and hugged Lena rubbing soothing circles on her back, sensing she needed it.
Then Kara kissed her gently on the cheek.
Lena shook her head and took Kara's hand to hold rubbing the back of it with her thumb. "No, no, darling. It was just something stupid he said, I let it get to me."
"What'd he say, baby? If it made you sad then it wasn't stupid. He's the stupid one." She crossed her arms in a feigning petulant manner.
Lena giggled a little at the adorable pout on her girlfriends face.
"Okay, he came into my office as if he owned the place and demanded that I take him back, then I told him that I was already seeing someone and he said who is he? And I said you were a she and told him that I was bisexual and than he asked why didn't I tell him sooner, it would have saved him the trouble of dating me at all and he left." She said in one breath, wanting to get it out all at once.
Kara became very still after that. If she moved, she was going to punch something and she didn't need Lena's whole ass building to become rubble.
"I'm gonna go after him." She growled. No one made her girl sad and got away with it. She got up from her perch on the desk. Moving towards the window. Intent on killing Jimmy Olsen.
"No! Darling, he's not worth it. I don't need you to get in trouble because of me."
"I would do anything for you, Lee. From punching douchy ex's to throwing them into space. I mean it, babe. I love you from Krypton back to Earth." She had the most purest smile Lena's ever seen. Lena was in love with that smile. It belonged to her darling.
"I love you, too. Can you hold me? We can go to your place, watch a movie and order in Big Belly Burger for dinner and ice cream for dessert." Lena smiled and gave Kara a lingering kiss on the lips.
Kara smiled into the kiss making it a little sloppy a little messy, but Lena loved her hero more than anything or anyone. They pulled back with a little pop. She jumped up and down on her tip toes with excitement.
"Yes! We can watch whatever you want, I'll even watch one of your science documentary's. Let's go! I'll go tell Jess that she can go home because I'm gonna steal you for the day and you'll resume your job tomorrow when you don't need to feel all baby anymore."
"All baby?" Lena had a perfect sculpted eyebrow raised in question.
"Yes...cause...you're my...baby?" She nodded with a serious look on her face. "Yes, you're my baby." She super changed into her super suit and held her arms for Lena to jump into.
