Your Savor || Carlos Oliveria x Reader

Summary:

The police department is infested with the undead and you have no way to protect yourself. The best option for you was to take refuge in the nearest office.

Work Text:

You kept yourself barricaded in S.T.A.R.S. office ever since the outbreak reached the police department and refused to leave after having to deal with a oversized creature that walked on fours and climbed on the ceiling. That’s how you ended up with a large scratch on the side of your torso. It would have been much more fatal if you didn’t dodge it in time. Luckily, you found the nearest room to take shelter in before being ripped to shreds.

Since then, it felt like it had been hours since kept yourself barricaded in the office and you refused to move anywhere else besides staying in a chair, afraid to that you’d make sound something would come knocking down the door. Not a sound was stirring outside other than the occasional gnarling sounds of your undead colleagues. You were afraid to move or even to rest your eyes. Any minute you’d expect a loud thud starling you awake, but your eyelids grew heavier as the sound of heavy rain grew louder.

Suddenly the sound of the doorknob jiggling made you perk up.

“Anyone in here?” It was a male’s voice. You never thought a rescue squad would try to step foot in this overrun police department.

“Yes! Give me a second!” You quickly stood up from the office chair and rush to the door to remove the large piece of furniture that blocked the door and opened it seeing a man dressed in military uniform. “Get in here quick!” You yank the man inside and locking the door. “Have you seen that creature around?” You ask snapping your head towards the confused man.

He shook his head. “A creature? I’ve seen plenty of creatures tonight.” The man leans his weapon against the wall and walks towards you.

“Yeah. Big enough to be a man, large claws, and a long tongue. It did this to me.” You pointed down at your large wound.

The man winced at the amount of blood that change the color of your shirt. “That’s a pretty nasty scratch on you.” He motions you to a desk to hop up on. “Mind if I take a look?”

Your hands clench the front bottom of your stained shirt, hesitating to reply.

“I won’t bite, I promise.” He reassures you.

You nod, hopping on the desk next to him and watching him as he slowly lifts up your shirt to examine the extensive area. The gash was deep and blood was still oozing out from your torso.

“It’s bad, isn’t it?” You cringe glancing down at the large wound. “I’m going to need stitches, huh?”

“Unfortunately. But it’s not too bad.” The man stands up and begins to search around the room. “There might be a first aid or some bandages in here.”

“Check that bag hanging on the wall. Maybe they might’ve left something useful.” You extend your arm out to point in the direction of the first aid bag causing to blench from turning your torso too much.

The man grabs the bag and brings it back to you. Pulling out the very few supplies, the two of you felt discouraged by the lack of useful supplies. “Looks like we got some small bandage patches,” He sets it on the desk next to you. “And some gauze. We’ll have to wait on the stitches.”

You sigh in relief. You were already in enough pain as it is. An anesthetic would be really nice to get rid of the nagging pain in your torso. “I can wait on the stitches for now. I’m in too much pain to handle anything else.”

“I’m going to wrap enough gauze around you until we get you help.” The man rips open the package and unwraps the gauze and with one hand he places his hand with the gauze to your stomach and starts to wrap around your torso.

The feeling of someone else’s hands touching your waist made your heart flutter. With each wrap around, it felt like he was getting closer. You couldn’t let the awkward silence go on any longer. “Thank you for doing this.” You blurt out. “To be honest, I didn’t know that there was a first aid in this office. I was scared to make any noise.”

“It’s my job to help civilians.” He smiles. “The names Carlos by the way and I will be your savior today.” He finishes wrapping your waist, tightly tucking in the end of the gauze. He steps back and reaches for his walkie-talkie. “Tyrell, come in.”

A voice immediately responds to Carlos. “Is everything alright? Have you located the S.T.A.R.S. office?”

“I found the office as well as a survivor. They’re in critical condition, but I have them patched up.”

“Okay. I be there quick as I can.” The walkie-talkie goes off.

Carlos turns back to you. “You’ll have to stay here with Tyrell.” He takes your hand, placing a fully loaded handgun from his holster in the palm of your hand. “In case if the two of you get overwhelmed. Don’t be afraid to use it.”

You set the gun down next to you. “You’re not staying?” Your voice fills with despair.

He shakes his head. “I have a mission to finish. But don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.” He smiles. “I’ll see you again soon. I promise.”
