Chapter Text
Anton has a daughter from his previous relationship. She’s 12 now, and she’s literally the center of Anton’s world.
His old partner relinquished custody after he found out Anton was a werewolf. This meant that Anton had his daughter full time.
When Anton starts dating Viago, his daughter has a lot to say about it.
“Dad, why are you even dating this guy? I thought vampires were ‘no good, smelly, blood sucking assholes’.” She asks as she does her homework at the dining room table.
“That’s not true. And don’t repeat what your Uncle Clifton says, he’s an idiot.” Anton tells her, cleaning up from dinner.
His daughter makes a face. “You said you were too busy to date anyone. You’ve never dated anyone my whole life.”
“Yeah, well… Viago’s different. You’ll like him, little moon.”
A week later, when Viago brings Anton home from a night out, his daughter’s standing on the front porch in her pajamas.
“Hey… princess, what are you doing up? It’s 2 AM, you have school in the morning” Anton rushes over to her.
“Why were you out so late?” She crosses her arms. Viago walks up behind Anton, watching the girl with skeptical eyes.
“It’s freezing cold, you’re gonna get sick…” Anton mumbles distractedly, wrapping his flannel around his daughter.
“What are your intentions with my father?” She asks Viago, putting on a stern persona.
Viago looks around. “I… I am dating him.”
“And you’re being safe? Protection and all that?”
“LUNA!” Anton turns red.
Viago’s nodding before he has a chance to protest further. “We are very safe.”
She nods. “Come in. I want to talk with you some more.”

A year later, Luna and Viago are the best of friends.
Turns out, they both loved Drag Race, ceramics, and making clothes.
Viago taught her how to embroider, and how to play the lute.
Luna taught Viago how to use an iPhone, and what “lmao” stood for.
Viago asked her one evening what she was doing as scribbled away on something at kitchen table.
“It’s stupid…” She mumbled dismissively. Viago frowned.
“Is it for school?” He looked over her shoulder. He saw ‘for Leon’ written on the front of a folded piece of paper. “Who’s Leon?”
“No one! Shut up!” Luna turned red.
Viago narrowed his eyes. “You’re a very bad liar. Like your father.”
She sighed heavily. “He’s this guy… in my class… I want him to come to my birthday barbecue.”
Viago gasped excitedly. “You have a crush!”
“Shhh! Don’t tell dad!” She turned and smacked his arm.
Viago just giggled. “You should most definitely invite him to your birthday! Your father and I would love to meet him!”
She groaned. “I’ll invite him. Who knows if he’ll come…”
“He will if he’s smart.”
Luna delivered the card the next day. Leon said he would definitely be there, and even gave luna a kiss on the cheek.
Anton threw her a party a week later, and all of her closest friends came to shower her with the love and praise she deserved.
When sunset fell, Viago arrived with his own gift for the new teenager: her own guitar.
He found her by the back gate, waving goodbye to the last of her guests. “So, where is Mr. Leon?” He teased.
Luna looked over at him. “He… he said he’d be here, but he’s not…”
Viago frowned. “I’m sure he’ll be here.”
He never came. luna sat by the gate for hours until Anton and Viago both approached her.
“You need to go to bed, kiddo. Almost midnight.” Anton brushed her hair behind her ear.
Ahe only nodded and stood, staying uncharacteristically silent as she rushed inside.
Anton looked to Viago, who was frowning. “What happened?”
Viago sighed. “She invited a boy and… he didn’t come."
Anton’s face fell. “Oh no…”
The men went inside and attempted to talk to Luna, but she had locked herself in her room before they had the chance.
Defeated, Anton and Viago decided to go off to bed. Anton was asleep within minutes, while Viago stayed awake to read as he played with his lover’s hair.
A knock sounded on their door around 1 in the morning. Viago looked up, then quickly got out of bed to answer the door.
Luna was standing in her pajamas, holding her old stuffed dog to her chest, fighting tears. “Viago…?”
“Oh, my darling…” Viago whispered and pulled her into a hug, keeping her close.
“I don’t know why he ditched me… is there something wrong with me?” She cried into his chest.
“Don’t be ridiculous. There is nothing on earth wrong with you.” Viago assured her. “He’s an idiot boy who can’t commit to anything. You are a brilliant young woman with the emotional maturity of a person 4 times your age.”
She continued to cry in his arms as he assured her repeatedly that she was absolutely wonderful, and that this boy was an idiot. He felt murderous towards him; he couldn’t guarantee that he wouldn’t scare the kid half to death if he ever saw him.
The commotion must have woken Anton, and the wolf quickly rushed to the door. “What’s the matter, baby girl?”
Viago gave him a gentle look. Anton frowned sadly and kissed his daughter’s head.
“Can-Can I sleep in your bed tonight?” Luna sniffled. Anton and Viago were ushering her into the room before she could even finish her question.
The three snuggled up in bed, with Luna between the men, and Viago pulled the covers up over her. “You have school tomorrow. And Anton, you have work. It’s time for bed, little wolves.”
Anton smiled and leaned over to give his boyfriend a kiss before he fell asleep, keeping a protective arm over his daughter.
Viago got comfortable once again and went back to his book, assuming Luna would be asleep shortly.
After a few minutes of silence, Luna spoke up. “Viago?”
He looked over. “Yes?”
“…would you hold me?”
His dead heart warmed a bit. “Of course, Luna.”
hHe laid down and pulled her into his arms, where she snuggled up tight and buried her face in his chest.
“Viago… I’m really happy you’re with my dad.”
“Hh, dear, I’m just as happy, I assure you.”
She hugged his waist. “I hope you stay in our family for a while…”
“That is my plan.”
“…I love you.”
“I love you too, little wolf.”
