Work Text:
By this point Madara is used to spotting red eyes peering from the darkness and the lingering scent of blood in the air. What he isn’t used to is how strong that scent is today.
He’s always been wary of what dangers lurk in and out of the darkness, but he knows that even though they’re a vampire they’re relatively harmless… And a little pathetic.
To be fair that’s just one of his thoughts regarding these siblings anyway. For creatures of the night they can be the least intimidating vampires he’s met, especially when they sob over split blood like split milk.
There, on the cusp where the rug and the wooden floor meets, lies a broken blood bag, it’s contents oozing and staining the rug and potentially seeping into the wood.
The youngest of the Sakuma trio teary-eyed gaze meets his from the end of the entrance hall. In their bloodied hands is a bloodied rag, and he finds it humorous that they look at him like they’ve been caught trying to get rid of evidence.
“Looks like you’ve been caught red-handed dear child! Don’t worry, Mama will help you take care of it!”
Madara tucks his shoes into the cubby with a teasing smile and heads straight past them, carefully stepping over the stain to the supply closet, grabbing this and that. He’s sure that the floors are finished but with how often they drag things, namely coffins, scuffing and scratching the flooring Madara is positive that some blood would definitely have seeped into the wood.
Blood’s a pain to clean out of rugs on its own but wood is an entirely separate matter. At least he has experience doing both and can help them out before it gets worse.
Madara shoos the teary vampire to the bathroom to clean up before kneeling down and taking over the cleaning job. As he works he notices that there’s little flecks here and there of blood revealing more and more on how this mess occurred. But he’ll ask about it later.
It doesn’t take him long, it never does, and he’s standing up again by the time they’ve finished washing their hands and changed out of their blood speckled clothes. He heads to the bathroom leaving the door open as he cleans up too.
He stares at the bin after tossing the soiled paper towels. He wants to take out the trash out of habit but it should be fine to leave it for now, this house has plenty of bloody trash in practically every room, what’s another?
The youngest turns on the faucet for him and give him some soap. He washes a little above the wrist, almost like a doctor also out of habit. Madara wonders if he’ll ever be able to do things normally.
“Now! What were you doing to look like you’ve committed a crime, hmm? Mama won’t be mad so speak up.”
They look flustered but grateful and he can probably guess what they were doing with their frequent habit as of late. They explain that they were going to go snacking as usual but when they were opening the bag it was harder to open than usual and when they finally managed to open it, it torn open like a bag of chips and spilt everywhere.
What an image.
He laughs, that has got to be the funniest way for blood to spill. Madara quickly dries his hands before pulling them into a bear hug. He snickers to himself remembering what Rei told him happened a few days ago. This poor, poor vampire. Will feeding ever go right for them?
