Work Text:
It’s not like having spent the last 26 Valentine’s Day single has taken a toll on Jungkook. He wasn’t even interested in celebrating it the first 14 years, and he may not have had a boyfriend before (nor does he have one now), but somewhere along the way of life, he started getting this one little feeling in his chest when the day came and he had no one to spend it with, and he started wondering if the rest of his life would be more of the same soul-sucking loneliness.
Of course, he has his six trusty (and also single) friends to make him company, but it’s something about not having someone to hug (though Seokjin hugs him all the time), to kiss (Seokjin does that too, occasionally), to do more intimate things (Seokjin hasn’t gone as far as that, but Jungkook wouldn’t be against it if he asked) …
And with that thought is that Jungkook jumps from the couch and drops his controller in the middle of a raid. Taehyung curses when Jungkook’s distraction gets them both killed and looks up from the screen to find Jungkook pulling at his hair.
“What?” Taehyung asks, he puts his controller on the center table and gets closer to Jungkook, hands hovering around him in his almost crazed state. “What’s wrong? Why does your face look like that?”
Jungkook cards his fingers through his hair furiously, eyes wide as they stare at a fixed point on the wall. That’s it. He doesn’t need to spend his present worrying about who he will spend his future with, he can flounder and make mistakes now without fretting about and unknown future if he does this right.
“I figured it out!” He grabs Taehyung’s shoulders and shakes him. “I figured it out!”
“What are you talking about?” Taehyung swats his hands around to get Jungkook to let him go, when Jungkook does, he drops onto the couch.
“My romantic future!” Jungkook claps his hands and offers Taehyung the biggest smile he can pull off, then he turns around and practically runs out of their shared apartment without waiting for Taehyung to react.
Jungkook is so confident in his ability to do anything without Seokjin ever saying no to him, he forgets his ‘perfect’ plan has a glaring flaw. Seokjin may be pretty easygoing, and he may hold Jungkook dearly in his heart as a friend, but that doesn’t mean he’ll go along with this crazy plan of his. It’s hard to tell if Jungkook doesn’t think about it because the thought doesn’t even cross his mind, or because he just can’t let himself fall back into the reality of his life if the plan doesn’t work.
It's a short walk from his and Taehyung’s apartment complex to Seokjin’s. He lives alone because he’s the kind of adult who has life already figured out. If Jungkook had to say, the only thing Seokjin doesn’t seem to have under control is his romantic life, but in all the years they’ve known each other, Jungkook has never heard him complain or even mention anything related to his love life.
At the beginning, Jungkook thought it was because Seokjin had had a very bad experience and he just wasn’t keen on relieving it by telling the story to people he barely knew, but as time went by (and after a very convincing talk from Yoongi) Jungkook learned to let it go. He had his own creeping loneliness to worry about anyway.
He rings the doorbell and waits, checking his reflection on the screen of his phone. He looks the same as always, with the touch of crazy that made Taehyung ask about his face. If Taehyung saw, there’s no way Seokjin won’t notice. Jungkook starts to think that maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to come here right away. He should leave, come back later when the high of a perfect plan popping in his head out of nowhere wears out.
Jungkook’s opportunity to make the decision on his own is taken away when the door opens and a very disheveled and sweaty Seokjin stands on the other side staring at him. Seokjin’s eyes go wide and his mouth drops open, he takes his phone out and then looks back at Jungkook with confusion all over his face.
“What are you doing here?” Seokjin asks, out of breath. “I though we were supposed to meet later.”
“Um, yes, but…” Jungkook clears his throat, wrings his fingers, tries to fix his hair again even when he knows it’s as good as it will get. He looks Seokjin up and down, finally noticing the advanced level of undress, the blotchy purple patch on the base of his neck, his swollen lips. Deep inside, Jungkook knows he’s able to put all of these puzzle pieces together into what Seokjin was doing before he came, but somewhere else, he refuses to acknowledge it because it would probably mean that the right thing to do is to back down from his plan, and that’s a no. “I was thinking…”
Seokjin tilts his head when Jungkook goes silent, a stray lock of hair falls in his eyes and he pushes it back in a way that should be illegal. Seokjin takes a deep breath, throws a nervous look over his shoulder and then back at Jungkook. “What?”
“Wouldn’t it be like, funny or great… I don’t know… If we get married to each other if we’re still single by 40?” Jungkook mumbles, covering his ears with his hands and making an enormous effort to not look away. Seokjin’s eyes open wider, if that’s possible, and he gasps, his phone clattering to the floor. “I mean… It was just a thought but it makes sense for me! You still have like 10 years if you don’t really wanna be with me and it would be an easy and comfortable way to ensure that—”
Seokjin steps closer and grabs Jungkook’s shoulders, which effectively gets him to stop rambling. “What if we get married now?” He says.
“I do!” Jungkook blurts out, then he covers his mouth when Seokjin’s lips part. His heart is beating like crazy, Jungkook doesn’t know if it’s because of how ridiculous this whole situation is, or because of some clearly new discovered feelings for Seokjin he had no idea about before.
“What?” There’s a small hint of a smile tugging at the corners of Seokjin’s mouth. He seems amused. Jungkook’s stomach twists in a weird way.
“What?”
“Should I leave?”
A random girl Jungkook has never seen before in his life peeks over Seokjin’s shoulder, she’s in the very same state Seokjin was when he opened the door. Jungkook’s heart sinks to his stomach and it must show in his face because Seokjin opens his mouth to say something, but Jungkook turns around and leaves without giving him the chance to utter a word.
He doesn’t stop when Seokjin calls his name and Seokjin doesn’t follow, though that Jungkook may understand, there’s no need for Seokjin to run out into the street half naked over something that tomorrow won’t even matter anymore. It’s better if he stays with his girlfriend.
Jungkook walks with no destination in mind, wiping the tears that spill from his eyes here and there. His phone rings not long after he leaves Seokjin’s apartment, when he’s standing in front of a bakery staring at the cat shaped bread on display absentmindedly. For a moment, he thinks it’s Seokjin calling and he doesn’t really want to answer, but when he looks at the screen to find Yoongi’s gummy smile shining too brightly for Jungkook’s current mood, he taps the green button and puts the phone to his ear.
“Do you want to come over?” Yoongi asks, not bothering with a greeting, which tells Jungkook that he knows. Seokjin must have called him and it hurts to think that he didn’t call Jungkook instead.
“I’m okay,” Jungkook says, he doesn’t believe himself.
And, apparently, neither does Yoongi.
“Where are you?”
“I’m not in love with him!” Jungkook screams and hangs up.
He stares at the phone in his shaky hands and slowly, so very slowly, his vision starts to blurry. The screen lights up again with another call from Yoongi and Jungkook pockets his phone to angrily dry his eyes. The plan wasn’t supposed to go like this.
**
Taehyung is sitting on the couch when Jungkook walks into the living room, there is a carton of takeout waiting for him on the center table. Taehyung gives him a soft smile and silently opens his arms, right on time for Jungkook to crash into him.
“Are you hungry?” Taehyung asks, one hand running up and down Jungkook’s back, the other gently petting his hair. He giggles when Jungkook huffs against his neck. “I ordered from that Japanese place you’ve been obsessed with lately.”
“I’m okay,” Jungkook sobs, trying to make himself smaller in Taehyung’s warm embrace.
“I know.” Taehyung kisses his hair and holds him tighter. “Hungry?”
“I’m not in love with him,” Jungkook sobs harder, shoulders shaking.
“Mm.”
They stay like that for a while. Jungkook knows that there’s no way Taehyung believes him, and he knows that he’s not okay. But he has to be, because Seokjin apparently has a girlfriend that probably everyone but Jungkook knows about, and he doesn’t know what hurts more, his ruined future or the fact that Seokjin kept her a secret from him.
The distant chatter of the TV in the background lulls Jungkook into a fitful sleep, plagued with nightmares where Seokjin slowly pushes him away now that he knows his secret, and Jungkook loses his best friend forever. He wakes up with a start, all sticky with sweat even though it’s the middle of winter. His head is resting on someone’s thigh and there’s a hand gently carding through his hair.
Jungkook closes his eyes and wills his thundering heart to calm down. It was just a horrible dream; Seokjin wouldn’t just cut him off like that. He wouldn’t.
“A nightmare?”
Jungkook jumps and rolls to the floor at the sound of Seokjin’s raspy voice. When he looks up, his wide eyes meet Seokjin’s and he immediately looks away, trying to gather himself. The side where he landed hurts.
“Where’s Tae?” Jungkook asks, rubbing his hip. He hears the shuffle of clothes as Seokjin moves around, but somehow the hands on his shoulders still take him by surprise. He flinches away, pretty sure that he will crumble down otherwise. “Don’t.”
Seokjin pulls back, clearing his throat. Jungkook refuses to look at him. He doesn’t want to be in the same room as Seokjin right now. Seokjin kept the truth from him. Why? Why did he do that?
“Sorry,” Seokjin whispers. “Jimin needed someone to pick him up from work, so he called Tae.”
“What are you doing here?”
“I came to talk to you.”
Jungkook picks himself up from the floor and limps to the kitchen, unwilling to be here. The pain is spreading into his chest and he wonders if he broke a rib or something.
Seokjin follows behind him and stands by the kitchen island while Jungkook takes a bottle of water from the fridge. He drinks in awkward silence under Seokjin’s heavy stare.
“You hurt yourself when you fell,” Seokjin says. “Do you want me to put some ointment on it?”
He chokes on a gulp of water and sputters, making a mess on the floor. Jungkook wipes his mouth with the sleeve of his sweater and glares at Seokjin. He has never known how to deal well with pain, and all the confusing feelings mixed into it are slowly turning into anger.
“What makes you thing that I’d want that when I don’t even want you to touch me?” He hisses.
“Why are you so angry?” Seokjin walks around the counter and only stops when he’s but a breath away from Jungkook. They’re almost the same heigh, staring each other in the eyes. Jungkook looks away, afraid that Seokjin will be able to see what’s troubling him before he himself comes to terms with it. He’s always been good at reading Jungkook like that. But, Seokjin grabs his chin and forces him to look at him. “Talk to me, Kookie.”
“Why should I?” Jungkook tries to pull away, but his back is already pressed to the fridge and Seokjin’s caging him in. “You’re content with keeping stuff from me, I can do the same.”
“What?” Seokjin’s fingers relent and Jungkook slaps his hand to the side.
“Leave,” Jungkook says. “And tell your girlfriend your ex best friend said hi.”
Jungkook shoves Seokjin back and limps away from him, but before he can make it to the living room, Seokjin catches up to him, grabs his wrist and turns him around. There’s a scowl on Seokjin’s brow.
“Is that what this is all about?”
“That?” Jungkook scoffs. “How would you like it if I went and got myself a boyfriend and told you nothing?”
“Are you going to?”
Jungkook’s eye twitches. He wouldn’t. He won’t. But that’s not the point. Seokjin doesn’t get it. Maybe they where never such good friends as Jungkook thought. The pain in his chest is worse now.
“Leave!” Jungkook screams. He tries to step away but his hurt knee gives out. Seokjin’s there to catch him before he falls again, one arm around his waist, their faces so close Jungkook can feel Seokjin’s labored breath on his skin. “Go back to being happy without telling me about it! I’ll ask Namjoon to make the pact with me instead, I don’t need you, S—”
Soft lips capture his in a greedy kiss. Jungkook exhales into it, heat spreading from each point where Seokjin’s touching him. Seokjin’s free hand comes up to cup his face, leaning his head this way and that to deepen the kiss. When his tongue brushes the seam of Jungkook’s lips they open up and Seokjin takes more and more. Jungkook moans, a tear dripping down his cheek because he knows this is so wrong. Seokjin is a taken man, but Jungkook has never been kissed before and despite the pain and the confusion this feels like heaven.
In a flurry of kisses and wandering hands, Seokjin drags him to the living room and they flop on the couch on top of each other. They’re pressed together from head to toe, and Jungkook looks down at Seokjin from where he’s laying on his chest. There’s the softest of smiles on Seokjin’s spit slick lips, his hands squeeze Jungkook’s waist. They should talk. They need to talk.
He leans for another kiss instead. Seokjin makes a little surprised noise, but doesn’t take long to reciprocate. Soon enough Jungkook’s hips kick forward and Seokjin’s hand’s slide down to his ass, to make him do it again, and Jungkook moans and all the pain and the confusion go to the back burner when Seokjin slips one hand inside his pants.
By the end of the night, Jungkook’s lying on his bed, naked and sticky between the legs. Seokjin’s cuddled up to his side, nose buried in his neck, one arm thrown over Jungkook’s chest possessively. ‘It’s wrong’, a tiny voice deep inside whispers. Jungkook turns on his side and sighs when Seokjin sleepily mumbles something against his skin. He doesn’t care.
**
They don’t talk about it in the morning. Not when they make out in bed, not when they’re in the shower, too busy working each other up until Jungkook’s shaking against the cold tile of the shower wall, spilling himself down Seokjin’s throat.
They don’t talk about it during breakfast, not when they abandon the French toast Seokjin made for them and Seokjin bends Jungkook over the table and fucks him until he’s drooling and crying on his favorite embroidered napkin.
And they definitely don’t talk about it when Taehyung walks in on Jungkook riding Seokjin on the couch. Taehyung has a lot to say, not about them though. He screams and covers his eyes and tells Jungkook that he better have enough saved to buy a new couch because Taehyung’s never sitting on that one again. Seokjin laughs into Jungkook’s neck and jokes about taking the couch back to his own place.
**
“So, you talked?” Taehyung asks him during diner, after Seokjin did a great job at working Jungkook up by the door before leaving.
“Nope,” Jungkook replies, popping a slice of bibimbap in his mouth. Taehyung’s chopsticks clatter on the plate and when Jungkook looks at him, there’s a frown on his face. “What?”
“Are you okay?” Taehyung reaches over the table. He puts his hand over Jungkook’s.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” He shrugs, shakes Taehyung’s hand off and goes back to eating.
“Well, yesterday before I left, you were… you know. And I come back to you two going at it like rabbits on our couch. What happened?”
“I guess…” Jungkook puts his elbow on the table and rests his face on his hand. ‘It’s wrong’, says the voice in his head again. “I guess we just proved we work better as fuck buddies than as friends.”
“What?!”
“I do feel bad for his girlfriend, tho. I would’ve never taken him for the kind of asshole who cheats on people.”
Taehyung stares wide eyed and with his mouth open. Jungkook pops another slice of bibimbap in his mouth and pretends none of what he just said burnt everything on the way out. He pretends it doesn’t hurt, because no matter how wrong it all is, it’s the best Jungkook has felt in years. Perhaps he’s just as much of an asshole as Seokjin.
“He has a girlfriend?” Taehyung chokes out when he finds his voice again.
Jungkook chuckles soullessly. “Glad to know I wasn’t the only one he didn’t tell.”
**
[23:17] Hs: Wanna talk about it?
[07:33] Jk: Nope
**
Jungkook still feels Seokjin a couple of days later, when he sits down, when he tries to reach for something and sore muscles he didn’t even know he head ache. When he’s asleep and Seokjin appears in his dreams and kisses him and holds him all over again.
Taehyung doesn’t touch the subject again, but Jungkook can tell he’s concerned by the way he looks at him when he’s lost in thought, sitting by the table rubbing a finger over the hickey Seokjin left at the base of his neck.
It’s funny, Jungkook thinks, that there’s no anger anymore. Confusion, maybe, but not much of anything else.
When he’s with Seokjin and they kiss and hug and touch, everything’s great. Jungkook’s always overcome with euphoria around Seokjin. Most of the time he even forgets about the poor girl waiting for Seokjin to go back to her, because Seokjin doesn’t mention her, because they don’t talk about it. They don’t talk about much of anything nowadays. They just fuck.
And after the initial high of this new activity fades away, Jungkook feels empty.
**
It’s been a few weeks. Lately Jungkook hasn’t been feeling like himself.
Seokjin has just left and the phantom traces of his fingers still linger on Jungkook’s skin when there’s a knock on the door.
“Open up or I’m using my key!” Jimin screams from the outside.
Jungkook huffs and squirms on the couch. His back complains, the new position Seokjin was so keen on trying sure took a toll on him. “Use it!”
“Wow,” Jimin whistles when he sees the sorry state Jungkook’s in. “He’s killing you.”
“He’s helping me feel good.” It’s a lie. Or at least it feels like one, but Jimin doesn’t need to know that.
“If you say so.” Jimin moves about, picking up some of Jungkook’s clothes that he was too tired to worry about. “Do you know what would make you feel better?”
“I can’t think of anything.”
“Come drink with me…”
“You know I don’t like that.”
“Fine, be my wingman. I wanna go hunting and Taehyung is busy with work.”
“What makes you think I’m free?” Jungkook winces when he sits up. Jimin shakes his head and hands him a bottle of water.
“Well, you just had your brains fucked out on a Friday afternoon and your boyfriend isn’t here…” Jimin eyes him cautiously.
Now that Jungkook pays attention to him, he notices Jimin is wearing Taehyung’s favorite shirt and ‘The pants TM’, the ones that hug is ass nicely and make his legs look infinite. He’s the one ready to kill.
“He’s not my boyfriend,” Jungkook replies, rolling his eyes.
“Right,” Jimin exhales, sitting on the center table in front of Jungkook.
They stare at each other without blinking. Jungkook knows that if he loses this battle, he’s up for a bad time trying to fend away drunk guys from an even drunker Jimin at the bar.
Jimin starts leaning closer, eyebrows drawing together. Jungkook almost goes cross eyed before he pulls back and covers his face with his hands. Fuck.
Fortunately, Taehyung walks in then, trying to balance the biggest canvas Jungkook has ever seen him carry past the entry hallway. Taehyung drops everything when his eyes fall on Jimin.
“Hey Jimin! I didn’t know you’d be here.” Taehyung runs a hand through his hair, trying to fix it. There’s a bright yellow stain on his cheek and his eyes seem to glow when they look Jimin up and down. “You look… very nice.”
“Tae!” Jimin jumps from his seat and beckons Taehyung closer with his hand. “Good thing you’re here! Help me get Jungkook ready, we’re going out tonight.”
**
“He’s having a good time,” Taehyung sighs, taking a sip from the very sugary and very alcoholic drink in his cup. His gaze is fixed on Jimin, who’s dancing very close with a man that could pretty much be Taehyung’s doppelganger.
“This was supposed to be me having a good time,” Jungkook pouts at his sparkling water.
“I thought that was you and Seokjin.” There’s a tone in Taehyung’s voice that Jungkook doesn’t like. When he looks at him, Taehyung is already staring his way, an arched eyebrow daring him to say something. Jungkook sips his water. “Are you still not talking about things?”
“We don’t need to. That’s the kind of stuff friends or couples do, and we’re none of those. We just fuck… we just… fuck.”
“Jungkook—”
“God, you’re making me whish I liked alcohol.” Jungkook scoffs dramatically before taking the drink from Taehyung’s hand. “You know what? I may as well try to have a good time too.”
It’s strong, but sweet enough that Jungkook could pretend there’s actually no vodka in it. Taehyung stops pestering him to quit it about three cups in and he’s pretty floaty by then.
He’s all fuzzy and giggly, leaning heavily on Taehyung. And it’s the first time in weeks he doesn’t feel like shit. Maybe he should go out drinking more often.
“Hey pretty, wanna dance?” A tall man with broad shoulders offers Jungkook his hand. He’s handsome, not as much as Seokjin though. Seokjin. Seokjin who must be with his girlfriend right now.
Well, if Seokjin can double time, so can Jungkook.
“Sorry, he has a boyfriend.” Taehyung says.
“Sure,” Jungkook replies at the same time, taking the man’s hand and letting him drag him to the dance floor.
He’s handling his first time being drunk quite alright. If he counts letting a stranger feel him up in a crowded place while they sway slowly to a beat that definitely calls for something else. It’s okay. It’s…
A long while into it, his eyes meet Jimin’s over the stranger’s shoulder, where Jungkook’s been resting his head for a moment because the room started to spin. Jimin looks worried, he makes to pull away from the man he was dancing with, and when the man tries to hold him back, Taehyung is there immediately to tell the man off. They talk to each other, both throwing looks to Jungkook, and then Jimin pulls his phone out and walks away from the dance floor, Taehyung trailing behind him. Jungkook closes his eyes when the stranger kisses his neck.
The music changes and they remain. They sway and one of the stranger’s hands finds its way under Jungkook’s shirt, and the kisses trail closer to his mouth. The lights glow in different colors. Jungkook’s whole world is blurry. There’s something hard pocking his hip and the stranger’s breathing on his skin is hot and wet.
A finger hooks under his chin, guiding him closer. Jungkook closes his eyes again, bracing for impact. But the kiss never comes. Suddenly there are hands on his waist pulling him back against a firm chest. The world spins harder. He’s going to be sick.
There’s a commotion over his head. He thinks he hears Seokjin’s voice. Taehyung’s and Jimin’s too. The stranger calling someone a whore and then the arms around him disappear and the commotion grows bigger. Jungkook stumbles away from the dance floor, through the rest of the crowd to the bathroom. He barely makes it to the first stall where he empties the contents from his stomach into the toilet.
A minute later someone’s there with him. Gentle hands keep his hair out of the way as he heaves everything out. When it’s over, he leans against the wall of the stall and tries to bring his breathing back to normal.
“Let’s get you home.”
**
“Hey,” Seokjin whispers, tucking a lock of hair behind Jungkook’s ear.
Jungkook opens his eyes.
“Hey,” he giggles. He’s bathed and his mouth tastes like mint and Seokjin’s here. The world isn’t spinning anymore, but he’s still a little bit fuzzy. He leans on Seokjin’s hand, and Seokjin’s thumb brushes his cheekbone softly. “Kiss?”
“Fine, but just that. You need to rest.” Seokjin pecks Jungkook’s lips briefly, holding him back by the shoulders when he pulls away and Jungkook tries to follow. He pouts. “Sleep.”
“Nooo,” Jungkook whines. He clenches the front of Seokjin’s shirt in his fists and weakly tries to bring him closer. “I want more.”
“Okay.” Seokjin kisses him again. Just a soft press of his lips on Jungkook’s before it’s over.
“More,” Jungkook says. He slides his arms around Seokjin’s neck and holds him tightly. Seokjin lets him take what he wants for a moment and it feels good, better than it has for a while.
But when Jungkook starts grinding his hips against him everything goes wrong.
“Jungkook stop. You’re drunk.” Seokjin pushes Jungkook away with a little more force than necessary and he flops to the bed.
Jungkook sucks on a breath and stares at Seokjin with teary eyes. Seokjin seems angry. Is he disgusted at Jungkook? For doing once the same thing he’s been doing since they started fucking?
“Fine! Then fucking leave!” Jungkook kicks his legs when Seokjin tries to step closer. He crawls up the bed and wraps himself in a blanket.
“Kookie…”
“No!” Jungkook screams, rubbing his face with his hands to get rid of the tears. “You won’t fuck me; you won’t talk to me. What he fuck are you doing here then? What do you want from me?”
“What? Jungkook, where is this coming from?” Seokjin asks. When Jungkook glares at him, he looks confused. “Maybe we should talk in the morning, when you’re sober.”
He’s so handsome and Jungkook hates that he loves him.
“Oh! Now you want to talk?” Jungkook scoffs, throwing a pillow at him. “After you’ve only come to me for sex for the past month? Fuck off, Seokjin.”
Seokjin tries to crawl into the bed next to him. Jungkook kicks his hand away and Seokjin throws the pillow back at him. “Stop!” Seokjin grabs his ankles and pins his legs to the bed. Jungkook throws another pillow. “You say I’m the one coming to you just for sex, but you’re the one who walks away every time I open my mouth for something that isn’t sucking your cock!”
“That isn’t true!”
“It is!” Seokjin moves closer, switching the hold to Jungkook’s wrists instead. He sits on Jungkook’s hips to keep him still, and Jungkook could throw him off if he wanted to, he’s strong enough. But the thing is, he craves the closeness. This is the most they’ve talked to one another in weeks. “I’ve been putting up with it because I care about you, but a relationship can’t survive on sex alone, Jungkook… Yoongi told me you’ve been telling everyone we’re just fuck buddies, and what you did at the bar… It hurt, what the fuck were you thinking about?”
“Oh, boohoo!” Jungkook starts fighting again. One of his hands slips from Seokjin’s hold and he arms himself with the closest thing he can grab, which is a pink stuffed bunny Seokjin gifted him on last year’s valentines after he complained the whole day about having no gifts. He whacks Seokjin with it, to no effect. “You don’t like it when you’re the one on the other end, uh? Did you ever stop to think about that when you used me to hurt her?”
“What?” Seokjin’s mouth drops open and he stops fighting. Jungkook wiggles away from him and throws the bunny into his chest as hard as he can. He’s crying, but he’s so angry he doesn’t even care anymore. Seokjin looks downright broken. “Who are you talking about?”
“Your girlfriend?” Jungkook hisses. Seokjin looks more confused than before. “The girl that was at your apartment when you fucking proposed to me?!”
Realization seems to dawn on Seokjin. His shoulders drop and he buries his face in his hands, then his shoulders start shaking. For a second Jungkook thinks Seokjin’s crying and his heart hurts a little, but then a familiar squeaky sound slips through Seokjin’s fingers and Jungkook’s anger grows tenfold.
“Do you think this is funny? You fucking asshole!” Jungkook grabs another pillow and swats at Seokjin with it repeatedly, until Seokjin grabs his arms and pulls him closer when he isn’t expecting it. Jungkook crumples into Seokjin’s chest, trying to break free from the hug the moment Seokjin’s arms wrap around him. “Let me go!”
“Never,” Seokjin breathes out once his laughter has died down.
“Let me go!” Jungkook tries to push Seokjin away, but Seokjin holds him tighter. “Let me go,” he sobs. “Let me go…”
Seokjin lets him cry for a while. Jungkook sobs wetly and holds Seokjin for dear life. One of Seokjin’s hands gently rubs up and down Jungkook’s back and occasionally he presses soft kisses to Jungkook’s temple.
“Jungkook,” Seokjin whispers after Jungkook’s stopped crying, lips brushing Jungkook’s skin as he speaks. “Do you know what a hookup is?”
“Me?” Jungkook sniffles, voice so quiet Seokjin wouldn’t have heard him if they weren’t so close.
“No, baby,” Seokjin sighs. He squeezes Jungkook and kisses his temple again. “That girl was a hookup, you’re my boyfriend… or at least I thought you were. And even if you’re not, you mean way more than that to me.”
“I’m your boyfriend?” Jungkook pulls away slightly, eyes big and wet staring at Seokjin, who nods with a soft smile on his lips. “But I thought… you never… you… why didn’t you tell me you were… you know? I wouldn’t have judged you for that.”
“I know,” Seokjin says. “But one, I’m entitled to my privacy, and two, how could I tell the reason of my need to blow steam that I was going around looking for people that kept me from ruining our friendship?”
“What?” Jungkook’s lips part. He doesn’t know what else to say. Does this mean that Seokjin had feelings for him from before all this mess happened?
Seokjin takes Jungkook’s hands and brings them to his mouth. “I love you,” he says, lips pressed to Jungkook’s knuckles. Jungkook gasps. “I’ve loved you for years now. But you were always talking about needing to find someone to spend the rest of your life with, when I was right there, waiting for you to look at me just once. I just figured you didn’t feel the same towards me, but then my feelings started getting out of control because you’re always so touchy and I started sleeping around to give myself some piece of mind…”
“Did it work?” Jungkook whispers, looking straight into Seokjin’s eyes. His heart is beating like crazy. Seokjin loves him. Seokjin loves him!
“Does it look like it worked?” Seokjin scoffs, waving a hand between the both of them. Jungkook giggles a little, that sense of euphoria trickling back into him. His hands are trembling when Seokjin opens them up to lace their fingers together. “I was sure I was so smart, that I was handling everything just fine. But then you came to my apartment and asked me to marry you and, well, you know what happened afterwards.”
“Ask me again,” Jungkook breathes out, pulling Seokjin closer by their joined hands.
“Jungkook, would you marry me?” Seokjin smirks, leaning forward so their foreheads are pressed together.
“No!” Jungkook squeals when Seokjin lets go of his hands to drag him even closer by his waist.
“You don’t wanna marry me?” Seokjin asks, tickling him viciously.
Jungkook squirms around, trying to get away from the attack, but his arms remain wrapped around Seokjin’s neck. Seokjin kisses his nose and the corner of his smile and Jungkook feels like he’s floating. “Not yet! I wanna date and be your boyfriend and you have to propose properly first,” Jungkook wheezes, Seokjin’s fingers still going at it under his ribs. “You know I have a plan.”
“I know,” Seokjin concedes, fluttering kisses all over Jungkook’s face. When he tries to kiss him full on the mouth, Jungkook presses his lips in a thin line and moves out of the way. Seokjin arches an eyebrow, amused.
“I don’t kiss before the first date.” Jungkook smiles, nose scrunched and bunny teeth on display. Seokjin laughs and kisses the tip of his nose.
“Fuck, I love this smile so much,” he says, kissing his nose once more, then his cheeks, and the corner of his mouth again. The tickling has stopped and Seokjin’s hands slowly drag lower until they’re resting on Jungkook’s hips. “I love you.”
“Mmm, don’t you think it’s too soon to use the L word?” Jungkook sighs, tilting his head to give Seokjin more space as he trails kisses down the side of his neck. Seokjin bites him and Jungkook yelps.
“No, I’ve waited long enough. I’m gonna say it all the time now.” Seokjin kisses the spot he bit, drags his tongue over the teeth marks and then sucks on it. Jungkook’s hips buck against Seokjin’s to find him already hard. “I love you,” Seokjin says, lips coming back up to Jungkook’s cheek. “I love you so, so much.”
“I love you too,” Jungkook whimpers when Seokjin presses their hips closer. He grabs Seokjin’s face and looks him in the eye. “I love you, so ask me again.”
“Jeon Jungkook,” Seokjin begins. He smiles and pushes Jungkook’s hips down on his harder. Jungkook bites his lip and nods his head. “Would you be my boyfriend?”
“Yes,” Jungkook breathes out.
He kisses Seokjin then, hard and desperate, and grumbles when Seokjin smiles into it because it’s cute and all but it messes with his flow. Seokjin laughs harder and Jungkook slaps his shoulder.
“Stop and kiss me properly! Or I’ll take it back!” Jungkook pouts.
Seokjin’s answer is to flip them around and press Jungkook into the mattress with his body. He devours Jungkook’s mouth with a vengeance, sucking on his tongue, biting his lower lip and swallowing the moan that comes out when his hand palms Jungkook’s hard cock over his pj’s.
“How many dates do I have to wait for this?” Seokjin jokes.
Jungkook makes a whiny noise before taking Seokjin’s hand and shoving it in his pants. Seokjin’s deft fingers wrap around him and he strokes once, twice, stopping just a second to drag his thumb around the wet tip. Jungkook moans and pulls Seokjin closer for another kiss.
Seokjin humps Jungkook’s thigh slowly as he jerks him, twisting his wrist on the upstroke in the way that drives Jungkook crazy. His hips buck into the touch, hands coming to Seokjin’s ass to squeeze and urge him to move faster.
“Shut up and fuck me already.”
His pants are gone and Seokjin bends him in half in the blink of an eye. He looks right into Jungkook’s eyes with a wicked smirk on his mouth before he leans down to lick a wide stripe from Jungkook’s hole to his balls. Jungkook’s legs shake when Seokjin stops playing around and plunges his tongue inside. He cards his fingers through Seokjin’s hair, trying to bring him deeper or shove him away, he doesn’t know.
It’s not the first time they’ve done this, but it feels like it anyway. Jungkook’s body is on fire. Seokjin shoves two fingers next to his tongue and Jungkook arches his back, clenching around him, his cock already leaking precum onto his own stomach.
Jungkook feels so good, and he says so, then he curses when Seokjin pulls away and he’s all empty.
“Shh, I’m here, baby.” Seokjin leans over him as he lines himself up with Jungkook’s hole, teasing him with the tip before popping in just to pull back again.
Jungkook frowns at him, mouth open in a permanent silent moan, before he reaches between them to grab Seokjin’s cock and pops the tip inside, then he wraps his legs around Seokjin’s hips and tries to makes him go deeper. Seokjin complies with a half laugh half groan and Jungkook smirks, satisfied.
When Seokjin starts moving for real, though, Jungkook completely loses his ability to think. It’s like his body takes full control and his hips move in rhythm with Seokjin’s thrusts, hands going to Seokjin’s face to pull him into another kiss that’s more of their mouths pressed together and breathing into each other than anything else, but it’s enough for him because he can feel and taste what he does to Seokjin, what Seokjin does to him. Jungkook loves it. Jungkook loves Seokjin.
And Seokjin loves him.
By the end of the night, Jungkook’s lying on his bed, naked and sticky between the legs. Seokjin’s cuddled up to his side, nose buried in his neck, one arm thrown over Jungkook’s chest possessively. ‘It feels so good’, a tiny voice deep inside whispers. Jungkook turns on his side and sighs when Seokjin sleepily mumbles something against his skin. He’s so damn happy.

Jungkook throws his phone on the bedside drawer and giggles when Seokjin bites his cheek.
“I can’t believe Yoongi things he can kick my ass.”
“I can’t believe you think he can’t,” Jungkook replies.
Seokjin makes an offended noise before launching a new tickle attack. Jungkook screams and squeals so hard Jimin and Taehyung barrel into the room not long after. They stop at the door with wide eyes and open mouths when they realize that they’re staring at two naked men.
“This is the second time you traumatize me!” Taehyung grumbles, covering his eyes.
“Are you…” Jimin whispers. Jungkook nods and kisses Seokjin happily. “I need to tell Namjoon he owes us a date now!” he pulls Taehyung out of the room by the hand. There’s a huge smile on Taehyung’s face when he winks at Jungkook before slamming the door closed.
The phone dings and Jungkook reaches for it, Seokjin draped over his back to peek over his shoulder.
