Chapter Text
“This is much better than my cabin,” Elliot laughed as he closed a dresser drawer. “It was practically overtaken with spiders, and too dark to get much work done.”
You smiled at your husband.
The two of you had just gotten married a few days ago, and you could not be more thrilled. Ever since you moved to the valley, you had been in love with Elliot.
The first time you met him, you had run into him on the beach. Having just moved in, you didn’t have much money, so you decided to test the art of angling. He had been standing on the pier, looking into the sea.
You were on a mission to get to know everyone in town anyways, so you decided to strike up a conversation with him.
He told you that he had only moved in a year prior to your arrival, and that settling wasn’t hard in a place like this. You found yourself admiring him, smiled to yourself slightly, and thanked him.
It was as seamless as that.
The two of you fell into a natural groove, becoming friends quickly.
In between countless hours of cutting down trees and slaying slimes, you went to visit him in his cabin. Sometimes he’d tell you how his writing was progressing, and other times he would play the piano for you.
You could feel the two of you getting closer, and it was exhilarating. You didn’t know if he felt the same way about you as you did him, but you decided to take the risk anyway.
When he saw the bouquet of flowers hiding behind your back, he turned a deep shade of red, and tried to pretend everything was normal.
When you asked him what was wrong, he laughed and pulled out the bouquet he had been hiding. It felt so cliche that the two of you couldn’t help but laugh.
You exchanged the bouquets with butterflies in your stomachs; that was when the pair of you had become official.
Elliot had always been the hopeless romantic type, so the entire valley already knew your feelings for each other, and were happy to see you two finally together.
“Is something the matter, my love?”
Elliot was looking at you, eyes full of concern.
“Oh, sorry, I guess I dozed off for a second there,” you laughed.
He tilted his head to the side.
“I was just thinking about when we first met.”
He smiled broadly.
This made you blush hard, and felt the need to explain yourself.
“I just.. You made me feel so at home here in the valley immediately. So.. Thank you. I’m so excited for this new chapter for us.”
He stretched his arms out, signaling for you to come in for a hug.
You did, and he started running his hand through your hair.
“Anywhere we go will be home so long as I am with you. I love you, darling. I’m ready to spend my life with you.”
